My household just got together and held a vote to give ourselves some more money.

Problem solved!

Err...raising taxes back to pre-Bush is the only solution.

So you agree it's a revenue problem then? By those figures you could cut spending completely (not realistic) and still take years paying off the debt. Also, a government doesn't face the same constraints as a household so it's kind of an oversimplification / bad comparison to begin with.

@Spyder187
Are you implying it was the Obama administration that went crazy with the credit card AND took a pay cut?
During a recession, deficit spending has a multiplier effect - each dollar spent by the government stimulates business such that more than one dollar is added to the GDP. It only makes sense to cut spending economically when the country is already doing well (though this is exactly when there is the smallest political drive to cut spending).
It's all good, let's go relax over some $16 muffins.
Also, I just took a dump, and those $2500 toilet seats were SO worth it.

Certainly large Republican protests against government spending began once Obama got in office.

2 wars (Afghanistan, Iraq), 1 half war (Libya), 2 drone wars (Yemen, Somalia), and 1 I-dont-know-what-to-call-it (Pakistan).

Kicking this much ass costs money.

So basically the government owes a lot of money (New debt for this year + National Debt). Easiest fix is obviously to raise taxes high enough to make a profit and downsize our debt.

The problem is that "certain" individuals, I'll just refer to them as retards think that raising taxes for the rich will stop job growth. Like the rich are just going to up and lay off thousands of workers because they paying more taxes and making less money because of it. News flash, if any business could save more money using less workers, they would have ing done that already.
