Oh, those wacky Japanese products!

Recently Amazon Japan has had stock issues with diapers, so we were unable to purchase the brand we typically do and ended up going with Moony.
If you ask me, that's a pretty funny name for diapers, especially considering that Ryu wears the pants type which can be pulled up and down easily.

But, that's not actually the wacky portion.

In Japan, it's pretty trendy to take a couple of English words and smash them together with katakana to get one word that means multiple things.

In this case, I was pretty surprised to find that they combined "soft" and "stretchy" in order to make a really great new katakana word.

As an added value, you may choose to use the diapers themselves as soundproofed barf bags!

Ok, I gotta ask: Is buying diapers online rather than in the store a common thing in Japan? Given how often they need to be changed, you'd think you'd be ordering them every week. It seems inconvenient.

@vamn, I order diapers online in the U.S. all the time with Amazon's subscribe and save I get huge boxes much cheaper than even buying them at Sams.

If you want more than one little package at a time, it's either off to Costco (we don't have a car, so usually not an option) or to Amazon.
