Gaming 11/5-11/11

3 Hours: Dead Island: I played one night with all my coop partners and we made it to Act II (I was already there by myself) and then spent the next few nights just trying to do some quests on my own. I got the patch for the game last night, and let me just say it completely changed the way you have to play the game. Adding stamina to the kicks, and more zombies (albeit not as strong) attacking you at once. I wish that I didn't have to deal with these changes unless I had started a new game.
2 Hours: Lego Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure Continues: I thought we needed 1 hour to finish, but we actually needed 1 hour and 15 minutes. I used the last 45 minutes to rack up as many of the easy trophies as I could. I really liked this game a lot, probably my favorite Lego game I have played.
30 Minutes: Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift: I was called to the temptation of beating that main quest, and I did the best I ever have (got the target down to HP critical) but still died. So there was at least a glimmer of hope.

I am really pissed about the changes to Dead Island. I read also that instead of the zombie's being around the Host's level that they are dynamic based on each players level. I really don't like that. I liked being able to jump into a game and level up quick or to have easy stuff to kill. And it took me an hour to do 1 quest because there were so many freaking zombies everywhere that I had to keep running away and setting up a plan of attack. It does make the game more realistic but damn. With Indy 2 under our belts, I'm up to 13 games for the year. I'll probably finish around 15-16 depending on how things go. (not quite the 18 I had last year, but it's been a busy year.) Next me and my girlfriend will probably do either NSMB Wii or Toy Story 3. She can decide. Also, I showed her the Dance Central 2 will be $15 at Wal-Mart on BF and I'm afraid she's going to buy me a bunch of the other games. I don't need any more games. Especially with the free GBA games on the way still.

Hmm, when I pick up Dead Island I might start playing it without being connected to the Internet for my single player play through.

I have some friends that play but they are way a head of me and I'm not sure if they'll want to either start over or usher the newb along

See before it was cool because you could join their game (you wouldn't get credit for any of their quests) but you could still get their level of experience and level up really quick and then take your stronger weapons and everything back to your game. That's what I did when I first started, I played with my friends and got up to level 3 or 4 with them, then started the single player on my own.
Congrats on finishing another game... it is always a good sign when you enjoy a game enough once you are finished that you want to go back and work on getting more trophies.

As for the next game, I would go with Toy Story 3, I think the game is really awesome for a movie game... plus, it is pretty short/easy for the story, so I think you could get it finished here sooner than Mario... plus, I just think Mario is the perfect game to play around the holiday's for some reason :P then again, Toy Story has a lot of great memories for me around the holiday's as well, so you know what, it really doesn't make a difference, both are great games, so you can't go wrong!

We went ahead and started Toy Story. My girlfriend likes it more then any of the Lego games I think. I really don't like playing a game for more than 1 hour in one sitting and she made me play it for 2 hours last night. then almost another 2 today, we have just been trying to do everything in the toy box. It's fun though for the most part, so no complaints from me.
