In light of the 2011 Gaming Season, I can't help but express some of the pent up feelings I have this holiday/major gaming release season. I feel like this should be best acknowledged with a segment which I will call, "Nod of the Head, Wag of the Finger."

Nod of the Head: Video Game Season
The back to back to back to back releases of Battlefield, Uncharted, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed has kept me interested, or at least not bored the last few weeks. So I would like to begin this segment thanking the developers for releasing all your games within 2 months of each other so that we'll have no triple A titles to play until Video Game Season 2013. Except maybe Bioshock and ME3 if that's not delayed again.

Wag of the Finger: Zelda Skyward Sword with Golden Wii mote bundle.
I have not played a wii game since Mario Kart (wii) because I saw GTA4 running on a PS3 and realized that no matter how hopeless of a Nintendo fangirl I am: it was time to move on: I can not argue with the magic of bluray. Because of this, I do not have a wii motion plus, which would make the wii mote bundle a good purchase for me. BUT, as a collector of collector's editions, I use very strict self control to not open special editions of video games, so if I do purchase thus bundle I will not be able to play this game. BUT, as a Nintendo fangirl, I've been waiting for Skyward sword since the Wii was announced 5 years ago. And, I refuse to get 2 special editions, because if I do, BOTH will stay sealed... AND, it doesn't make sense to get a regular edition and wii motion plus separately. My brain is so confused. Nintendo, you get a wag of the finger, for providing disappointment after disappointment for the last 5 years and finally, confusion.

Nod of the Head: MW3
I just beat MW3 and it is so AWESOME! You can ask me, was it better than MW2? And, my reply was, I dunno, I never played it.

Wag of the finger: Rage
In order to support id, I decided to buy Rage, at full price, in Canada, for 68 dollars. It was good but not 68 dollars good. More like meh good. I had to give up starbucks for the last 2 months to make up for this purchase, this purchase of 1/2 a game. id, I wag my finger at you for taking over 5 years to release half a game.

Wag of the finger: Amazon's CE sale
Oh Amazon. Why did you hold over 350 copies of MW3 HE? Was this some kind of cruel joke? Seeing the HE was sold out at Amazon and Gamestop and going for over 175 dollars on Ebay made me spend 100 bucks on one. I woke up early to line up outside Kmart for one. THERE WAS A LINE OUTSIDE KMART because of you! I wasted 6.5 dollars on CT tax because of you. And yet, you still have over 300 copies in stock as of now. Also, what kind of collector's edition sale is this? You have no CEs that I actually want. What about Infamous 2, and littlebigplant 2? WTF is with Duke Nukem?? Can't you sell something people actually want to play? Amazon, I wag my finger at you for temping me with 30K worth of MW3HE in my cart.

Wag of the finger: Uncharted 3
Oh Naughty Dog, how you have let me down. Uncharted 3 was the Hangover 2 to Uncharted 2's Hangover. Same formula, same game, not as good. I almost fainted while watching the VGA uncharted 3 announcement. I kept my hopes for Uncharted 3 at a modest level, not too high, because I didn't want to set my self up for disappointment, and it was... just not as good as the second one. :( Naughty Dog, you are like a naughty boyfriend, some what bumpy on the first dates with uncharted, then smooth and perfect, when you came out of your shell with uncharted 2, and now, after you finally won my heart with Among Thieves, you first tease me for a year with no mention of any follow up. Then swoon and tease me for another year with nitbits and promise of greatness with Drake's deception, only to let me down and leave me reminiscing of our good old times. Climbing up a falling train and jumping through ice caves, the snow in between our toes. For breaking my heart which I delicately entrusted to you... Naughty dog, here is a wag of my finger.
