@breakingcustoms I was hoping to show the VHS cover on the video (with the lenticular motion graphic) but couldn't find my copy. The DVD cheaped out and just had the "evil" snowman. The box definitely grabbed people's attention and even if they never saw the movie, they still remember the awesome cover.
@Ed I'd like to do Hobo with a Shotgun because it is such a great movie. I try not to do stuff that is too new because youtube flags it and I really don't want to have my account deleted because they ban first and ask questions later. I'll keep it in mind though. |

Saw the sequel to this film on TV.I actually though it was a sequel to the shitty Michael Kenton movie of the same name.Anyway it was a pretty hilarious bad film.

Wasn't the Kenton movie out around the same time?
EDIT: a year apart. I remember seeing them both on the VHS shelfs and thinking how great it was that the Snowmen looked exactly alike and just thinking who might have screwed up on got the wrong copy |

Was just talking about this wonderful holiday classic with a coworker recently! Something triggered wonderful memories of this movie and Uncle Sam. I still have the VHS tapes somewhere.

@joshnorm Yep. It most likely boosted the rentals of Jack Frost. There are some kids out there now that are terrified of snowmen.
@merchie89 I saw Thankskilling a few months back. Very silly, reminded me of old Troma. I might do it next year along with Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead. @jbuck138 There was some movie magazine I used to sub to at the time (can't remember the name) but they had tons of stuff on horror. There was an ad in there for Uncle Sam. I had just watched Jack Frost and couldn't wait to see it. It was written by Larry Cohen who directed It's Alive and The Stuff so I was certain it would be great. Sadly, I was let down. I've watched it again since and enjoyed it more but I was hoping it would have been at least on par with Jack Frost. I think my expectations were too high the first time I saw it. Isaac Hayes was great. |
