Neighborhood Kids

I can't stand them. Seems my house gets singled out since the wife and I are the only ones without kids currently. They run through my yard, jump into my backyard, ruin what little fence I have, destroy my screen door, throw shit at my house, etc.

I don't know what to do. The parents don't seem to give a shit, and that's evident by them allowing their 7 year old child to watch their 3 year old child, both of whom are sitting in the middle of the street playing with their toys. I've asked them to stop, and it doesn't matter.

No idea what to do...

you could always get a electric fence, pit bull, no trespassing signs, record them throwing stuff at your house then file a police report.

Eh, I wouldn't do anything where the kids could get harmed liked Cmb00 suggested. But definitely record the nonsense of them trespassing, throwing stuff at your house, and playing in the middle of the street. It may seem strange as , but write and mail them a letter about it. They may be your neighbor, but you'll want the delivery to be by the postal service to ensure and have a record that they received it.

I don't know if videotaping children is such a good idea either. i would call child welfare or the cops & see what they do. Letting 3 year old kids play unattended in the middle of the street has to be child endangerment.

Getting a poorly treated pitbull seems like a great suggestion, I hear they love kids. They can't always eat a whole one but they always give it the old college try.

Wait for them. Patiently. In secret. They come at night? Wait for them at night. It might take a while, I know, but bad neighbour Rome wasn't built in a bad neighbour day. You see them coming? Good. Wait for them to start doing shit. Throwing rocks or whatever. Wait until they're close. Good. Good.

Then throw paint at them. Like, run out screaming in a Halloween costume with an open can of paint and dump it all over the little ers.

Also, make sure you have a good Halloween costume on and an open can of paint before you start step two.

just call the police anonymously and mention the kids in the street. they'll come along and take care of business. i wouldn't get personal with the neighbors, some of those neighbors may be these weirdos commenting your blog (lol) but seriously, some don't take kindly to concerned folk. police police police & anonymous.

Call social services. Those kids are not being attended and it's a health hazard to them. Also sue them for the damage done to your property or threaten to sue them if their kids touch your property again. I'd do all 3.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I had started recording them, but of course I can never catch them doing the really bad stuff (like breaking my screen door). So I just have them in my backyard, messing with my fence, the small stuff. I never seem to get them when they are kicking small basketballs at my house or digging in the neighbors yard, or when they are sitting in the street (cause I normally need them to move to get into the street).

Here's my old screen door I was talking about. It happened while I was at work, so no guarantees it was them. But considering they are the only ones who are ever in my yard, and again, have caught kicking towards my house, I'm pretty sure it was them.

Started out as a small hole (no rock anywhere) with lots of cracks, but to get into the house I had to open it and it shattered into what this picture shows.

Next time they're playing in the street, steal a stranger's car and run them over with it.

Just got home and they were jumping off the garage of the next door neighbors house. Its currently up for rent, and when they saw me asked if I was going to call 911. Told them no before rushing in to grab phone. Got off 3 crappy photos before they ran home.

That's the problem with kids these days....they think they are able to get away with all this because they are under 18. WRONG ASSHOLES! That's what's JH is for. Those kids are the products of parents who didn't plan for those ers to be born so they don't care. The parents will get pissed and try to retaliate against you. Be very careful about recording. This can backfire as someone might tell the police you are some weirdo taping "innocent" children, then next thing you know you have a search warrant in your face.

Of course the kids will be like "I didn't do anything!!!" Parents will believe them, and then your ed.

Here is an interesting idea. Talk to the parents of the kids that do this. If things go well, your problem will be solved.

I've had to tell kids off in my neighborhood that ride this golf cart around. I had no real issue with them until my nieces decided to hang off the back of the cart while they drove it around. I told them don't let me catch you playing with my nieces like that again, and this is one of those occasions when looking the way I do comes in handy as they haven't even driven that cart down my street in six months.

I'm not sure if I would tolerate the kids in your neighborhood being in my yard. I'd definitely flip if my screen door was looking like that when I got home. I'll just wish you luck.

Print off fake flyers that say a sex offender has moved into the neighborhood and anon put them on the doors. Don't put the address of the offender. See if that has the parent keep em indoors.

talk to their parents first. if nothing happens there's no point in being polite. take pictures, call the police, or just bitch at the little ers and tell them you'll rip their mothering throats out if you see them again.

I have a friend who had the same problem. He had his little cousins stay over one weekend to scare the kids off. Bought them water guns and water baloons and basically waged war with the kids in the neighborhood. The neighborhood kids tried to retailiate but were no match for my friends cousins. Eventually they made friends with the kids and told them not to mess with the house. All in one weekend. The kids are cool now. Even helped him paint his fence a couple weeks ago.
set up a cam in a front window to record while you are not there.
