I worked through Lunch again
Skyrim arrived from Gamefly Today
It's on my desk, the desk with all the daunting work
For weeks, every time I tried to pre-order Mass Effect
I would get side tracked.

Surely, I can wait. There is plenty to play.
I work till ten. I take the long way to the train.
The long way that involves passing by a Gamestop.

Ten-thirty. There are 1 Million things I can do with my time.
And I choose to wait in line.
I pre-pay 63 bucks for a retail release.
Everyone was perfectly nice.
Had I brought my 3DS, PSP, or god forbid, a book, I could chill for 2 hours.
I had non of these things. It was a rough morning.

I felt like shit.

At 11, I have second thoughts.
I ask one of 15 employees if I can just leave.
Can i come back tomorrow?
They would of made it work, but it seemed difficult.
I decided to let them address line management.
From experience, it's not all that easy.

I duck out at 11:15 and go to the bar.
I have a half & half.
I return at 11:40 only to return to the bar to pee.

I still felt like shit.
Feel.
I reclaim my spot in line.
All the loners are rocking electronics.
All the friends are joking on the inside track.
There is a countdown.
My heart wasn't in it.
Line moves slowly.
I need to catch a train.

At 12:20 I get my game.
I politely decline the offer to get in line for autographs.
I leave.
At 12:30 I catch my train.

I am happy. It's my favorite game series.
Even though I won't play much tonight, it's worth it just imporitng my character.

As I crack the case, something hits me.
Those ers gave me an open game again.
It's my one unreasonable beef with Gamestop.
Selling open games as new makes me terribly flustered.
I have no idea why.
I first realized this many years ago trying to buy a copy of
Every Extend Extra
ers.

It's fine.
It's all here.
All in all,
the Gamestop staff was friendly.
The people were nice enough.
The game is fantastic
and my case was open.

If I live another work day
perhaps I can quell the reaper threat
the battle that rages inside

I went to walmart at 5 after twelve and 5 minutes later was walking out of the store with a sealed copy. (and a bag of pizza rolls)

Yeah. Figures.

As a loyal cagcast listener, I gotta ask... Did you document how many Vitas were there?

nope sorry, the mass effect display was just outside of the electronics area, so I never actually made it to the game isle.. but If I had to guess there were probably 3 left and two of each game.
