Matt's Marvel Movie Marathon
Punisher: War Zone

PROS:
- Ray Stevenson was a great Punisher, I truly believed he could kick some mean ass as apposed to Jane in the first film. I thought the scenes when it was just him on the screen were the best of the film.

- The action is over the top and exciting. As an action movie fan I found myself very happy with Castle blowing away countless bad guys in some hilarious and cool ways. These scenes are often sold on Stevenson's acting alone.

- The movie is slick, boasting much better production values then the terrible box office numbers will tell you.

CONS:
- The villains suck and almost wreck the whole film. I can put up with Jig Saw but the roy jumpers and Loonie Bin Jim take me out of the film every time they appear.

CONCLUSION:
I prefer this one over the first as I find it to be more fun then the first. I did find the villains in this film, particularly Loonie Bin Jim to be a little too wacky at times which took me out of the film from time to time. Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle/The Punisher was a lot more believable in this movie and I really enjoyed the scenes with him kicking ass. The movie also has very high production values and it's a shame the movie bombed as I feel a sequel to this Punisher, once again starring Stevenson, could have been the best film in the series yet.

7/10

I didn't even realize this movie was released in theaters. Wow.

It really didn't leave me with a lasting impression at all. In fact, the only thing I really remember was thinking it was much more brutal than I was expecting, and I was surprised they didn't use Microchip more.

But I do get a kick out of watching Stevenson in Thor, with his character being so incredibly different.

Stevenson is fantastic in Thor! I think he'll become a definite scene stealer in Thor 2.

What? The villains were goddamn amazing mostly because it gave the amazing rocket launcher scene and the movie in itself was a bit of a dark comedy since it took alot from Garth Ennis' Punisher run.

I personally never cared for the goofy villains

i can't agree you about jig-saw, jig-saw has never been that much of a serious character to begin. So why try to portray jig-saw to be serious character....the looney feeling that jig-saw gives the movie is what make the movie stand out from the first punisher (which sucked 2005 or 04)
