Do not pre-order anything from Target online

Back in March during Target's B2G1 on games, I ordered some 3DS games. One of those that was elligible for the B2G1 was Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance (http://www.target.com/p/kingdom-hear...s/-/A-14041678). It was also the one that was discounted as free. I ordered and received my two other games a little over a week later (strangely in two different shipments).
Now, I come back at the beginning of August to check on my order. The order has not shipped and the item is now listed as back ordered on the site (probably due to the $10 gift card offer). At this point, I contact support and ask about the status of my order. In a nutshell, they tell me although I pre-ordered, the item is back ordered and I would have to wait, until the item came back in stock. Two weeks later, I find that the item is back in stock. I check my order to see if my item has shipped. No change, order status says to expect delivery Tuesday,12/11/2012-Thursday,12/13/2012. I again call support, and email support. I am offered no help other then to wait. I just want to give the rest of the community fair warning that their website and support are a joke. If you email support, you are given a poorly formatted, form response that might not even reference your question. If you call support, you are given outsourced support who simply read off the order status page and offer no support. If you ask to speak to a supervisor or someone that can actually help you, they will refuse and hang up on you, putting you pack into a 30 minute queue to talk to someone. |

I'll keep that in mind. I like the Target store but their online website is a cluttered mess.

yea i have posted before never deal with target.com. Pre-ordered mass effect 2 collectors edition they shipped the standard edition. Then had to deal with their idiots at the website as well as their corp. The stores are better but not as good as they use to be.

As an employee of Target, the website is a mess and has almost nothing to do with B&M other than a store locator and stock checker and even that is awful. We don't match website prices in store, stock is always messed up, and I deal with upset guests on a daily bases because the website says one thing but in store it's either not there or a different price.

I used to work at the store, but never had to deal with any online stuff so I was unaware.
I want people to watch out though. |

Target.com is terrible. All the accounts of these botched orders are true. They've had these botch jobs for over 2.5 years now.

Did they same thing to me when I did the deal but my game was resistance burning skies. When the game was ready to ship they cancelled the order. Then refused to do anything about it.

I assume it's a waiting list. You pre-ordered at #whatever and although it's back in stock the other people who pre-ordered before you are getting their orders? Why not cancel and just re-buy them now? Might even ship sooner?

As someone else said, the website is basically its own entity. Not that this makes it any better for you, but that one of the reasons I avoid it.
