Sept-Oct trophy progress |

I didn't do much in September, so I figured I'd just combine 2 months. I think I've played myself into a bit of a rut since I started P4U and DOA5 and both are long, and yet mostly impossible platinums for me. I'll keep at them alongside other games, but I don't have high hopes. Meanwhile I've found myself even more unwilling to go through tedious grinding tasks (such as title farming in DOA5, or Arkedo Swap!), so I just kind of end up playing nothing some nights.
Anyway, here we go. Stardrone/Stardrone Extreme Cheap PSN/Vita cross-buygame, looked rather fun for $2 or $4 or whatever I paid. The double trophies were also a big factor. I kind of sucked at it (could never get the drone to go where I wanted it to), and while I did almost every level on the PS3, I ended up needing to do the final level on the Vita, then synced my saves back and forth and bam, 2x 100%. Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch As a Ghibli fan, this game is a must, and I wanted to make sure I platinum-ed this before the US version came out. It's a bit too much like Pokemon for my liking, but oh well. The platinum is easy, but requires a bit of item farming (took me about 8 hours total to get 10 rare items, and the total platinum time was ~80hrs?). Gravity Rush I had tried the demo for a couple minutes in stores and was very much afraid that controlling Kat in mid-air in 3D was going to be very hard, and I was right. It was quite difficult for me to keep up with mid-air fighting and many of the time trials, but I managed. People say to not bother trying to gold the challenges until end-game, and boy are they right. It's hard to fathom when you're first starting the game, but by the end you BREEZE through challenges that destroyed you early on. All in all, not too bad of a plat, but beware if you have a bad sense of 3D motion like I do. I've been tempted at the DLC, but I'm hesitant to put myself through more rough time trials... Alex Kidd in Miracle World Cheap $1 game with PS+. Standard platformer, but the controls were horrible. Did not enjoy this one at all, especially the rock-paper-scissors battles. Resistance: Burning Skies The main game is a breeze on easy mode, until you get to the last boss. I'm not very good at shooters in the first place, and trying to hit the tiny spot on boss's shoulder while it moved around wildly proved heavily anger-inducing. Still, it only took 20ish minutes to win, so I can't complain too much. Sadly, the online for this game is already pretty empty, so it took me even longer than that to get into an online game for the sole online trophy. Resident Evil 6 I don't see the hate for this game. I can see it getting maybe a 6/10 in reviews, but any lower than that is just trolling. It has its flaws, but the combat is the same as 5 (the quickshot was a nice addition too), and it's just a bit more co-op oriented. I enjoyed it, but replay factor is low because it's a PAIN to deal with the constant QTEs and cutscenes. There are a lot of cheap deaths as well, but whatever. I never had issues with the difficulty - I did my first playthrough with a friend on Veteran and we didn't have much trouble. Trophy-wise, this one is a lot more of a grind than 5, because you need a crapload of skill points. I highly recommend only buying the bare minimum in infinite ammo upgrades to save grinding time at the end (magnum, sniper, crossbow might be enough?). The Revenge of Shinobi Another $1 game. A bit less frustrating than Alex Kidd I think. I'd really love to see the Game Gear Shinobi come to PSN though. I don't think I ever managed to beat it on the Game Gear (or if I did, probably only once since it was so hard), but I'd be able to if I had save states! Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack Random Vita game that was on sale one week. Simple platformer that bears a lot of similarity to 'The Maw' on XBLA. It gets a bit tedious though, so it's not really a one-sitting game. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Another Tekken, another relatively easy plat. I am constantly reminded how bad I am at this game every time I play it. Ah well. The hardest trophy is probably the one for reaching Tekken Lord rank, but it is EASILY turbo-ed, so there goes all the difficulty. By the way, the netcode is amazing. I played about 30ish matches online and had 0 lag in any of them. 5 plats, 5 100%s. Not very good at all. Stupid Persona... so fun, but so cheap :( I have a few shorter games I'd like to get through within the next few months to chip away at my backlog, but I want to put some more effort into DOA5 first. Upcoming: Dead or Alive 5 - never going to happen, just because of survival mode (and maybe time attack). Still, I'd like to get to a much higher trophy percentage before I give it up for a while. Lollipop Chainsaw - Picked up from Best Buy with an RZ cert for cheap, looking forward to the awfulness. Asura's Wrath - Been looking forward to this for some time, actually. I thought I missed it from the Gamefly sale, but I got lucky and it came back in stock, so I jumped. Arkedo series - The US version has a gimp trophy list with the worst tasks from the EU list. I finished Jump! and Pixel!, but need to figure out if I want to deal with the challenges in Swap!... I dread this kind of stuff. Treasures of Montezuma Blitz - Finally approaching the 100% in this game. Easily the most cost effective trophy game I've ever played, since I've got over 60 hours in it and it was free. I already have the hard trophies done, just need more time and more daily gems. |

Played an hour and a half of Lollipop Chainsaw. It's not really bad as the reviews make it out to be.The humor isn't funny, but it is funny just to see how ridiculous the game gets.So far it's an average hack and slash.

Damn I wish I could get in the habit of playing as much as you.

I actually really enjoyed Lollipop Chainsaw. I didn't go for completion, though, so I don't know how that is. Asura's Wrath is awesome as well.
Glad to see that Ni No Kuni is a fairly easy, albeit long platinum. I've been looking forward to the English version for a long time now. |

I don't expect more than schoolyard humor from Lollipop Chainsaw - honestly, that's all there was in Shadows of the Damned, though at least it was funny there.
The DOA plat might actually be in reach, I'm seeing some nice strategies for Survival mode. Looks like everything else gets put on hold for a while longer... |
