FFXIV Online servers ended on 11/11/2012 at 3AM EST, before that, 2 hours in-game was spent fighting special event monsters which is described in the video below.

Near the end of the server, the sky turned black, slowly turned lighter red, the rumbling got louder and...came the ending



Welcome to FFXIV:ARR. Watch it in 1080p.

It has been a great two years, if anybody watched the first arc of Sword Art Online anime, the experience is one and the same (except for the whole being scared of death thing).

I have never met a better online community than the one I found on the Gungnir server of FFXIV Online.

I believe only 2 CAG members play FFXIV Online, 1 being myself and the other being Banjora, we are on the same server within the same guild. We had never talked on CAG before, but when we got into the same guild, I have to say I am honored to got to know such a person, hell, we even talk about CAG and what we find/see on the site while playing the game together.

Even though the game initially got bad reviews/scores, the experience definitely wipes that away, but to outsiders those reviews/scores stuck, which is a shame, but now, the tables have turned, and people are raving about FFXIV:ARR. Keep in mind, this is one of few MMORPGs that did not fail after 6 months of being release *Cough* DC,Starwars,ETC *Cough*.

I hope CAG members will give the FFXIV:ARR beta versions a try when they are available PC & PS3.

When does Realm Reborn actually go live? I know its in alpha stages right now. I thought they would run the alpha along side the live and not interupt service. I really like some aspects of the game, but it has tottaly been mis managed. Hopefully after the relaunch it will get moving in the right direction. Also to say that DC and SWTOR were failures and this is not is kinda bunk. They had to give people months of free time to make the better (revamping the market wards changing the combat etc). Both SWTOR and DC launched with everything you would expect and they were pretty fun and transistion to a f2p service without having to end service of the game (not saving progress that is). whoops this post got way too long. Also I play way to many mmo's.

ps. I do like FFXIV and cant way to play again.

The originally date for ARR was end of this year, early next, Dec/Jan, but they admitted they are at last two months and a half behind, so they will release a new time-schedule soon for everyone to look at.

They want to make a quality game after the initial failure, so they are granted as much time as needed to make ARR a quality game.

Yes, I agreed, that is why the initial FFXIV team heads have been replaced and ever since then miracles kept pumping out.

Sorry, I just saw that the subscriptions weren't doing so great for DC in till they went F2P, now Star Wars admitted that their subscribers hardly play and gone F2P as well. While on FFXIV on the other hand maintained its subscribers with the free time to fix the game and when they started charging, guess what? A lot more subscribers, and when I last left FFXIV, the servers were all full. Even though it is not mentioned, I dare say FFXIV numbers are doing much better than DC and Stars, especially with activities!

Of anything, FF14 was more of a failure compared to SWTOR They went Free to play for a few months after the game came out just to keep people playing the game.

Either way, I was super hyped for the initial game launch, had the CE pre-ordered and it was a friend of mine that said to avoid it. I really want to play the game, but after dealing with SWTOR's terrible launch, FF14 ARR needs to be awesome for me to to get into it.

I certainly love the art style, but gameplay need to be top notch for me to give up SWTOR or to at least play FF14 ARR. I'll be on the look out for FF14 ARR come March 2013

I'll definitely try the ARR beta but I doubt I will enjoy it much more than 1.X since my main gripes are the armoury system and the battle system and those things will mostly be unchanged.

@Antlp89 It is coming soon! I actually have those blogs finished and ready to release on a set date. It was suppose to replace this one for the week but I got here a little too late :( .

I think I am the only one that actually use the drafting system, but I don't know why drafts always show on the front page >.<
