You know, every once in awhile I get an itch to just turn off my brain, grab some popcorn and a coke and watch a seneslessly violent movie. It is even more appealing when the plot of the movie is just coherent enough to be valid. So, when I saw the preview for Death Race I was instantly interested. I'm not saying I'm going to be first in line to see this movie when it comes out, but I would watch it. It has all the pieces of a movie that a growing boy needs.

Cars with guns - check
Hot chicks - check
Badass convicts who have nothing to loose and everything to gain by competing - check.

Really, who else could headline this movie other than Jason Statham. This is definitly a movie that suits him. For the life of me I could not understand why he agreed to be in that Uwe Boll Dungeon Seige movie. That guy must have had something on all of the actors that were in that movie.

Anyway, I'm rambling now so I should probably wrap up this post. If anyone does happen to see Death Race please feel free to comment here and let me know what you think of it. I will probably end up seeing it on DVD or Pay Per View when it comes out.

yah i love jason statham movies scince transporter this is probably the only movie i want to see this sumer even though i could always watch the rain outside scince thats all it does here :(

I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the original movie Death Race 2000. It's the worst movie you'll ever see. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll laugh some more.

I saw the new death race movie @ comic con. Its not that bad. When i was watching it, i thought it won't be a bad PSN or XBLA game.

The original Death Race 2000 is a must see. It's pretty damn funny. It isn't "the worst movie you'll ever see", it's pretty much comic gold throughout. Who could forget such great stuff as "euthanasia day at the geriatrics ward"? This update (I guess it is suppose to be an update?) looks absolutely atrocious. The trailers aren't funny. It appears as if they are taking the idea seriously. What an incredibly terrible idea.
