New Year's Resolution : Beat 52 Games

So like most of you I have a huge backlog of games. Mine is mostly from yard sales. So this year I've set a challenge for myself to beat 52 games that I have not beaten before. This may be fairly difficult since I just picked of Xenoblade Chronicles, Last Story, and Tales of Graces f which will probably eat a good 2 months or so in themselves. I do have a whole bunch of old school games that I'm hoping I can knock out pretty quickly though. I'll try to post a weekly blog of my progress and my opinions on the games I'm playing.

This week I'm going to be playing ZombiU and Darkwing Duck on the NES for sure, and I'll see what happens from there.

Thats a lot of games to beat in a year. I usually try to just beat about 20 a year, (even though I buy like 75 a year, lol). RPGs alone usually can easily take up a month of my time. I feel like if I tried to play a game per week, I would just end up over-rushing them. Would rather just enjoy the games and move on to the next when I'm ready.
Yeah, but a lot of the games in my backlog are 8/16-bit games I've picked up at yard sales. Most of these you just play through once and that's all there is to them. This is where I expect at least 30-40 of my games to come from. I probably am way overestimating though, and will end up around 30 by the end. I have a lot of games that I've gotten near the end of also, but never finished. Some are games I just lost interest in but would still like to finish them

That is a good goal, I try to finish about a game a week, but the epics get me every time.

There is the time I finished Sly Cooper, Zone of Enders, Gungrave, and Hitman Contracts in a weekend, but I usually don't end up having that many 4 hour games in a row. Usually it's an epic, then a short one, then back to epics.

Good luck to you and every other CAG out there. This year I'm hoping to make a dent in my backlog as well.
I'd be happy if I have the time to beat only 10 games this year. I have Xenoblade still sealed and I'm debating if I should just sell it. The game looks great, but I don't know when I'll have the time to complete it. I generally despise long games, just for that reason.

A game a week is an ambitious goal. I typically play games that take 20+ hours, so I generally finish a game or two in a months time.

My New Year's resolution is going be along the lines playing more games than I buy to diminish my backlog some.
