CheapyD Mighty Mugg Design? Edited to reflect 73% more Wombat! Now Munny! |
2225 views |

I used to love building and painting models, and now with Mighty Muggs and Munny blank dolls becoming popular, I've tossed around the idea of giving one a go. The actual vinyl dolls are kind of expensive to just experiment with, but I've found several great digital templates out there. So, here's my version of an "offical" CheapyD Mugg.
If I come across a blank Mugg, I just might have to bring this one to life. Cram a few bills of toy money in his hand, and I think it might be full of win. Edit: Here's Wombat! This one would actually require some flaps of plastic glued on for the ears, or some such. Edit 2: Here's a CheapyD Mugg design straight out of CAGcomic #004, as well as CheapyD and Wombat Munny designs. |

Lookin' good, except the body seems really plain to me. Not sure what could go on there, but it's something you might want to keep in mind.

Liquid 2> Maybe I can make him pantsless and do some kind of mosaic design over the naughty bits.

StinkyCheese> It's not just tight, it's painted on!
I'd paint one of these things up, sure, but I surely doubt I'd go to the trouble to hand-sculpt additional material just to make his "pants" look looser. ITDEFX> Blood from a stone, my friend, blood from a stone. Etcetera> CharlieB? |

![]() Good grief! Edit: I want to point out that I did not see Etcetera or WSB's comments before I made this, and instead credit the thought to evidence of great minds in unison. |

Really like the base idea, but honestly I do not think it really portrays the two extremely well. I think if you based it more on your original work it would work a lot better.

If I were you, I'd use a Munny figure for Wombat.
Munnys have a more suitable, blob-like body. I'd probably use some sculpt on his neatly parted hair, and not just the ears. Maybe the nose, too. |

Brak> Yeah, actually a Munny would probably work better for CheapyD too, due to the head shape and ears, but Munny figures are twice as expensive.
I might scribble those templates up later. I'll still probably try to do a finished Mugg first so I can see how the process goes without dumping too much cashish on it, maybe just a different character. |
