Skip this section if you have no interest in knowing why my life is over:
I'm officially back in my love/hate relationship with Sega. This has nothing to do with that new Sonic the Werehog abomination. This is going back to about seven years ago, when I lost something called self-control. That was back when Sega made games that made life without a controller in hand and a standard definition TV in front of you feel vacant and meaningless. This is a time of Sonic Adventure, Power Stone, Soul Calibur, Jet Grind Radio and finally Phantasy Star Online. A true MMO for the consoles. It's coming back to steal my soul.

Now it returns, on the most brilliant console it could show off its Boomas on.
Phantasy Star Zero: coming to the DS Winter 2008.

That's cool that a new Phantasy Star game is in the works but what's up with the "Zero"? If this game is successful what number will its sequel have-- Phantasy Star Zero-Two? Or will they eventually go with Phantasy Star Five. In which case, why not just call this one Phantasy Star Five?

Maybe I'm just overanalysing it too much...

I think what they're doing is trying to make it look like a revamped PSO, instead of the "O" its a 0 in PS0. See it now? PSO = PS0.
I think that expands past the title and into the gameplay. Its very much like the original Dreamcast release.

4 years ago, I would have agreed with you. Then I bought Phantasy Stars 2 and 3 for the GBA. At that point, it was made very obvious to me how far RPGs had come along in the intervening years.

If this is a strict follow-on, I'll avoid. If it is modern interpretation, then I'm onboard.

This isn't a PSU expansion or sequel in any way, right? That game sucked hard.
