I'm not completely positive how true this is, but most of the things GilZ sends my way are true. He was correct about the new price drops, new HDMI models, new Elites, and now a picture sent to us with clearly visible text, in what appears to be either the 360's new name or the next xbox's final name. "XBOXPure" is what looks to be the final choice in this document. Take a look!



Here are some of the photos he sent way back when, before anybody knew about what was an Elite and HDMI on the 360.

The issue with blogging, one of them, isn't that sites link to other sites or their stories. That's a good thing. The issue with blogging is that in many ways it still hasn't grown up and often fails to act responsibly.
I could make up a story right now that everyone would link to, but the only thing that would prove is that they trusted me.
And on your point about fact checking. While we have reached out to Microsoft for comment, it's doubtful their reply would in anyway help or hurt the story. Rumor are by definition often unprovable or disprovable early on.
My feathers aren't ruffled. I am annoyed that I wasted your time, all of my readers time, with this story when we could have used that time to post something newsworthy. What annoys me most about this sort of thing though is that it sets back the credibility of all blogs.

LOL, all these sites talking about credibility... If you want to be a journalist-INVESTIGATE-don't just post random copies of papers on a personal blog. Just because you put rumor doesn't clear you to post it as a story as an actual story. Why would anyone believe this? It's half a paragraph saying a lot of nothing.

Awesome. And even though Crecente says it ruins CAG's credibility, it's not like they won't keep picking up stories from here. That would lose them valuable news and news posts.

But seriously they don't even realize it's just a blog. That's like saying Destrutoid is not credible because some kid made a blog about a My Little Pony edition of Halo 3.
