XBOX's New Name?

I'm not completely positive how true this is, but most of the things GilZ sends my way are true. He was correct about the new price drops, new HDMI models, new Elites, and now a picture sent to us with clearly visible text, in what appears to be either the 360's new name or the next xbox's final name. "XBOXPure" is what looks to be the final choice in this document. Take a look!

That was some fine work, the point was very well made. I think CAG burned a couple of bridges with people who won't even care why this was done in the first place.

Jeez, they locked my Kotaku account out of making comments. I guess Crecente is a little more butt-hurt than I thought. Hopefully other CAGs didn't get the same semi-ban hammer.

I have been reading the comments on Kotaku for the last half hour and I think anyone who would blame CAG's motivation for this has to be a 1 dimensional thinker. Someone incapable of understanding the irony of the situation. Kotaku's God of Good Hair could have written up the story and saved it to a "drafts" folder in case it panned out. He didn't, and therefore, proved the point the contest was trying to make absolutely perfectly. It's hard to believe, but the perfect quote for what happened comes from Star Wars of all places.

a lot of the stuff posted on CAG, the stuff people care about like the deals and rumors are not posted by cheapy, shipwreck or wombat. A lot of details about price cuts and new SKUs come out of CAG. Again, these are thing not posted by the people who run CAG but by the community. Ive seen on more than a few forums people believing something after it is posted on CAG. Kotaku might have egg on its face today but what was really damaged here was CAGs reputation.

I got comment banned as well. haha. Was a bunch of sore losers. Seriously. This would have gone over without a blink if it weren't for Crecente's snide update about "credibility". I think he must be using the Urban Dictionary definition. This definitely made my Friday much more pleasant and hope to see this win a Cheapy award sometime late Spring  |

All this talk about credibility reminds me of EGM. Every April issue, they put a fake codes and secrets in their magazine, and yet every year people fall for it. As much as Kotaku wants to complain about CAG's credibility, I bet if someone else was to pull another prank like this, they'd run with it again.

Kotaku is more like a tabloid rather than an accurate and reliable source of news. Crecente needs to stop trying to make Kotaku into something it's not. That's probably why he is so sore, this whole situation is pointing that out. Don't mess with a man's meal ticket. |

This is the funniest thing to hit the interwebs in a long time. I'm a host of another independent podcast, http://www.gamerhusbands.com, but I was recording a show with XBL radio last night, and when the host mentioned a rumor about the "XBox Pure," and he said it originated from CheapAss gamer, I immediately cracked up laughing, and told him. "someone just won a free game." Great contest Cheapy and Wombat. Those "professional" gamer blogs jumped on that like a fly on crap
