I am constantly asking myself why nothing in the homebrew scene is ever mentioned on the CAGcast. These are free (and legal) games you can get, it's a CAG's wet dream. Yet, it seems that the stigma of piracy that is associated with homebrew turns Cheapy and Wombat off to the whole idea. Is it that they don't find themselves interested in homebrew games? Or is it simply that they'd rather not dig themselves into a hole, and just avoid the whole subject? Either way, I think this needs to be addressed.

My personal opinion is that some of these games deserve the attention, others make it easy to enjoy old freeware classics. You don't need to condone piracy to mention these games that are very much worth the effort of looking into. Anyone else agree?

There are a lot of great homebrew games out there, my friend has a flash cart for his DS and I love playing pocket physics. I was going to get a flash cart but my DS broke, I hope the DSi has some type of support for homebrew.

I can only assume that they're not brought up because the homebrew scene is so broad and not so regulated that bringing up these games might be more effort than its worth.

I personally wouldn't even know where to go to find decent homebrew games.
beats of rage is the shit. just thought I would say it

I think the only problem is that discussing it = more people asking where and how to mod their console(s) in order to play those games. It would be hard to discourage those conversations while still advocating games which can only be played through mods or custom firmware.

But, I agree with you, and I'd love to see a compromise somehow, but I don't blame them for not even opening that can of worms.

I don't think it has anything to do with ethics, rather Cheapy and Wombat are both very lazy.

I know I would like to hear more, I have recently played Portal DS and it is awesome. The controls are a little hard to get used to to but after a little playing you are fine and yes Beats of Rage is the shit.

Yeah, homebrew for the DS and Wii are exceptionally easy (all you have to do is follow directions), I don't have an xbox to experiment with, but I know the Sony side is a little more advanced. For the former two, all you have to do is a search for wiibrew or dshomebrew and voila.

Now, StillAliveDS swarmed the blogsphere when it came out! It was a big deal, and silence from the the cheapest gamers out there... I was really dissapointed, but I suppose you can't eat your cake and have it too.
