As many of you know, Rock Band 2 shipped was shipped with a promise of 20 free songs by the end of the year. These 20 DLC songs would boost the RB2 setlist to over 100 songs!
Since Rock Band 2 came out, I've been waiting for the official list to be announced and wondering if any of my favorite songs would be included. Well, the list was announced and it was a shocker. For anyone who was expecting to rock out to 20 more rock classics, be warned. This pack features only songs by not-so-known artists. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of people didn't know any of the songs. Here is the list: The 88 - "Sons and Daughters" Authority Zero - "No Regrets" Between the Buried and Me - "Prequel To The Sequel" The Cab - "Bounce" The Chevelles - "Get It On" The Cocktail Slippers - "Give It To Me" Dealership - "Database Corrupted" Endeverafter - "I Wanna Be Your Man" The Ghost Hounds - "Ashes To Fire" Hollywood Undead - "Young" Kutless - "The Feeling" The Len Price 3 - "If I Ain't Got You" Lesley Roy - "I'm Gone, I'm Going" Opiate for the Masses - "Burn You Down" Semi-Precious Weapons - "Magnetic Baby" Shaimus - "Like a Fool" Thenewno2" - Crazy Tuesday" Tickle Me Pink - "The Time Is Wrong" Underoath - "Desperate Times, Desperate Measures" X Japan - "I.V." I for one think that this was pretty sneaky of Harmonix, since they even used the 20 free songs as a selling point (its on the box!). Sure, its hard to complain about 20 free songs, and I'm sure that some of these songs are probably very good, but I couldn't help losing all the excitement I had for this pack after reading the list. What do you guys think? Also: Underoath...? ![]() |

Out of that list, I've heard of 1 of those bands which is X Japan. Not really heard much of them but the drummer is really good so that might be a fun drum song.

You might end up liking some of the bands. Its a free download so give it a try. You don't have to only listen to "known" bands.

Who in their right mind expected there to be twenty classic rock songs?

well, would you complain if these 20 were on the disc? It's a way for more bands to be included and expand their reach. If all of these were pay-for DLC, then they would probably just sell to the fans they already have. But, offer them as 20 extra free tracks and a lot more people are bound to give them a try. Can't complain about free post-launch support.

Well, I recognize the Christian bands on there: Kutless and Underoath. Can't say I care for their music too much though.

LittleWildman: Same, though with hide gone (the lead guitarist) X Japan can't be the same.

I can vouch for the awesomeness of Endeverafter, and a lot of people like X Japan, but it's annoying to see those bands/projects represented in this list.

I'm going to say that if you expected 20 free songs from AAA-list, platinum selling artists, then you're a
ing idiot.Of course the free songs are going to be by lesser known artists, but is it really SO bad to spend no money, and possibly expand your taste in music? |

Well yeah. Perfect marketing for these bands. People will download them because they are free, maybe even enjoy the track, and maybe become fans of the band.

Free is free. You (we) have no right to complain.

Yeah, I'm fine with the list as it is. Free is free, and there were traditionally bonus songs like this on the disc before. There are probably some real gems in there.

Heck, at least Group X isn't on there, although that would be funny..."All I want is bang, bang, bang!"

Hollywood Undead is really good -- they've got a similar sound to Linkin Park, and that song is one of my favorites
