Today i thought i would jump on the bus down into Liverpool's city centre to head to an old shop i used to visit called Chipshop 2000 it was a small game shop that sold all games new and old imports an everything, although it could be a little expensive for some of the items. Anyway, the reason i wanted to go there was because i had been lookin 4 a day or so for a streeet fighter game for my SNES that i have dug out in the last 2 weeks and started playing super mario world again like the good old days, but either the store is closed at 2pm on a monday afternoon or the shop has closed down altogether (if anybody knows could they please let me know?) so i thought "not a problem ill go to gamestation". Now you'd expect a shop like gamestation to have at least a small corner of old SNES, Mega Drive, Dreamcast games etc but when i get there i could find anything but 360,wii, ps3, ps2, psp an ds o an a few xbox an gamecube(usualy i wouldn't complain about that because im a huge 360 fan its the only console i play never touch my ps3) games but no old catridge games! now surly some ppl must trade in ther old unwanted cartidge games for sum of the new hotness.
So i ended up looking around and goin into the second hand shop thats not long been in Liverpool C'ex or somthing its called and i found a street fighter alpha antholgys for £15 on ps2 i bought it because i despertly wanted to play a street fighter game and im to impatient to sit and wait around for it to be sent through the post from a website like amazon or ebay, the thing im trying to get at is that i wish ther was more self owned game shops in this country they're the kind of shops you find all them wacky merchendise not in the big chains like gamestation, game, hmv or zavvi, BRING THEM BACK!! |

There's a lack of independent game shops everywhere. I did my work experience in Gamestation and they do have a shit load of retro games down in the basement (I mean a SHIT LOAD) but they don't sell them. There's just not enough room for them up on the shop floor.

It's just too much effort to make. Don't forget that none of the games they get are brand new, they are all traded in by customers. Therefore, not every Gamestation is going to have the same games and that would mean making a catalogue for each individual store. It's just too much work for them just to advertise old games that not many people will buy anyway.

surly they could jus print out a text document and keep it behind the counter for people to ask for when they would like to know what stock they have

My Gamestation used to have little boxes full of old cartridge games but now that's gone from there. Don't really have anywhere near me to get old games from :(

Believe me, they can't. You have no idea how much crap they keep down in the basement.
