Blind Date: Fallout 3 - Farcry 2

These are two games that I'm very interested in picking up. Fallout 3 I'm waiting on becuase the PS3 version does have trophies and I don't want to start playing the game only to find that 4 months late and 20 hours of gameplay later I've got to start over in order to get trophies. I'll probably find the game cheaper and have the trophies in place.

Farcry 2, I've been watching some videos of this game since E3 and I have to say I'm throughly impressed. I know of its PC roots; unfortunately I've never been a PC gamer so Farcry 2 is a series that I never really got to experience first hand.

I'd love to see a Fallout 3 type game with the RPG elements, along side the lush environments in Farcry 2 FPS like setting. Basically, I'd love to see a game that takes the RPG elements and mixes it with the pure FPS action that Farcry 2 offers. NOt just the FPS action but the interaction with the environments, the vehicles, setting fire to the grass... destructable landscape.

I'm not trying to knock either game, but rather just wishing for a hybrid between the two.

If you need another excuse to hold off buying Fallout 3 on the PS3 is the fact that it has some pretty major bugs that aren't in the PC or Xbox 360 version that still need to be patched.

You know I'm thinking about picking the game up for the 360; I'd love to have this game w/ trophies, but heck, I could get it now and add some acheievements.

yea, you might want to hold off on the PS3 version cuz the bugs in that version are not worth the hassle. i'm enjoying the game myself but it's kinda on hold until i can get through other games that take less time to complete.

FarCry2 does indeed have trophies.

The bugs in the PS3 version really aren't noticable, at least to me. Reviews always overexadurate crap like that.

I'm reluctant to spend $60 on Fallout because I'm not sure if I'll like it. I don't like RPG's as a rule, and I really didn't care for Oblivion at all. Mostly I just think it looks cool.

I think I'll put my money (and time) into FarCry and maybe wait for a price drop on F3.
