What a way to start up Thanksgiving |

So, the roommate and I had a little Thanksgiving dinner and my night ended early. About an hour ago, I hit guardrail on the stairs and it gashed my eyelid. Here's a picture of it.
WARNING: MAY BE GRAPHIC It stopped bleeding but it's looking like that for right now. I have two choices: A. Check myself in to an emergency room and get stitches...co-pay on my health insurance is $100 B. Go to walmart and apply vaseline, neosporin, and a butterfly bandage...and maybe go see a doc or urgent care on Friday? I'll be refreshing my blog to see what should I do... Update: I just returned and indeed I do need stitches. It was a deep cut according to the doc. I had 4 of them right above my eye....on the eyelid itself. I'll probably look weird for a few days, but the sunglasses will cover that up, heheh. Here's where they stitched up: I only spent $80 compared to $100 for co-pay. It's better getting it checked now than never. Thanks guys! PS- There goes my Black Friday spending, LOL |

If money is a real issue, I suppose you can go with option B. However if you can afford the trip, or if anything abnormal happens with it, go to the emergency room. You don't want it to get infected or anything.

In this economy, save the $100. Not much blood? gets some antibiotic and a butterfly bandage. You might end up with a cool anime scar...

It doesn't look that bad but it is near the eye so you definitely do not want to risk it. Hope it heals fast.

Just got back. I do indeed need 4 stitches to my eyelid. The ER wait wasn't too long, I was in and out in about 70-80 minutes.

Nice to see everything went well. You can never spend too much money on your health.... Actually you can.
