Now I realize when one goes to a local grocery store and forgets something at the checkout line, one can always go back for it and get back in line in a timely manner. But if your store is a members only warehouse, you better help me the
out.I went to Costco with my mother today to get all my stuff ready for a BBQ I'll be throwing on Saturday. It's the day before 4th of July, and there are hordes of people getting last minute supplies for Uncle Sam's Birthday. I was one of many in that horde. I brought a list with me to make sure I get everything I need, but everyone forgets at least one thing to put on the list. For me, it was Charcoal. It didn't hit me until I was at the cash register that I needed a bag. My mother asks the register lady, "Do you guys have Charcoal?" She replies, "Yeah, it's located all the way at the back of the warehouse, but I don't know if we have any left." and keeps on ringing us up. She never lifts a finger to call up a co-worker to check if they have any stock, which is usually protocol. I could tell that she wanted us out of her hair, so I took upon myself to go quest and fetch the bags (since they sell their shit in bulk) that's 5 ing miles away in the back, haul the 30lb package all the way back to the front and wait in line again. By the time I get back to her and plop the charcoal on the conveyor belt, she says, "oh, you didn't have to wait in line. We could've gotten that for you" Of course not, bitch. I didn't have to grab the ing bag either. Just because it's a busy day doesn't mean you don't do your ing job. I was doing you a ing favor by not hassling you about getting me a bag of charcoal. But knowing you had the resources to grab somebody to help me out, and then didn't, is ing reprehensible. The relationship between a customer and an employee is mutual. If I'm being a jackass to a CS rep, I'm not expecting to get the greatest service, but what did I ever do to her to not get the help I needed? People like this need to get out of the public's view because they are not doing their company any favors by working like this. It's Customer Service, and you have an image to uphold. Fake smile or not, if I'm buying your shit, you better help me the out. |

I can only guess you live in the north east. I moved to New Jersey from Nebraska almost three years ago and am constantly disgusted by customer service out here. You are usually treated like you are bothering them even though they are getting paid to provide you, the customer, a service! Things don't work this way in the midwest.
Also, Cheapy, I couldn't agree more with you discussion of customer service upon returning to the US for your vacation. It's horrible in some areas. |

lol that sucks, that's the way it would be in the Northeast though. Miqspot was right. If you're not from there, you just got a little taste of Philly area Customer Service.

A Messican complaining about the physical labor of grabbing a bag of charcoal and carrying it to the front of the store? You're setting your people back with comments like that!

I'm interested to know: why didn't you ask the person at the check-out counter if they could get someone to bring a bag up to the front.?Especially if you feel so strongly about the clerk not doing their job.
Xecutioner: Comments like that set your people back. By "your people" I mean the bigoted and unfunny people of the world. |

doctorfaustus: Comments like that set your people back. By "your people" I mean the unimportant/uninformed/opinionated lurkers of the world who love the genuine taste of their foot in their mouth. This man is a close personal friend of mine, and we've taken racial cracks at each other from day 1. It's our gimmick. Your gimmick is to save the internet world of racism and political incorrectness, while pointing out the fault in others. The irony here is that you are, in fact, unfunny and (by being intolerant of racist jokes between friends) a bigot.

I thought Costco was supposed to be cool compared to asshole factories like Sam's Club. I guess customer service sucks everywhere.

I really don't see how you're bitching when you didn't open your mouth to ask if she would try to find out if they had any. I personally don't even understand you expecting her to assume to do that a the day before a national holiday when their were "hordes" of members.
