Yuck, I stripped some of the screws when I tried removing mine but I ended up gripping the screw with needle nose pliars and got them out that way.

People really shouldn't do this unless they have the proper tools or have experience with hard drive bay screws.

I stripped one of my screws as well. I ended up taking my screwdriver and hitting it with a block of wood to jar the factory tightened screw that just didn't want to come out and it loosened it up and I was able to take it out with relative ease after fearing I would have to drill out my screw or cut it out.

Damn, you probably didn't need to spend all that.

I stripped the shit out of one of my PS3 HDD screws, and used a nail file to flatten 2 sides of the head. After that, I could use pliers to spin it out, only took 5 minutes.

I got mine out with no stripping of the screws at all. I first tried using a precision screwdriver to take out the screw, but it would not budge. So I pulled out a larger screw driver with changeable heads and a large handle, and they came out with almost no force. A large torque really helps to take these out.

Yeah, you just need the right screw driver and it's easy, the first time I change it was a bit hard.

I stripped my screws too. I'm going to try that nail file and pliers thing. I was going to order a new Drive Tray from Sony. If the nail file doesn't work.

Damn, 2 of mine stripped. I'm going to try to take it to Lowe's see if they can just do me a favor and take them out.
