If you've ever played Noitu Love 2, then you should know about this love letter to Zelda. It's an overly obvious ripoff of Zelda, but plays like the best damn arcadey thing out there.

You can get this now and play it for free so enjoy and be sure to support your local indie game devs so great things like this can keep happening.

You mean derivatives of classic games? I'd rather support indie game developers who come up with original ideas. That's sort of the idea of being an indie developer. Support the makers of World of Goo, Schizoid, and The Maw.
Most devs get started learning how to design and complete a project by tapping into an established genre. Doing your own Pac-man variant has a lot of educational value.

Acquiring those skills is necessary before you're likely to do anything really groundbreaking.
This strikes me as much closer to the Wonder Boy in Monster World series than a Zelda.

Yeah, to be fair, this doesn't actually PLAY like Zelda at all. It "borrows" obvious design elements, sure, but I doubt the developer is making any attempt to hide that.

I'll have to check it out -- kinda looks like Maple Story...

there's a game like this coming out for the Wii- made by the people who made Oden Sphere. I'm going to give it a try.... the video won me over.

Dungeon Explorer was my favorite Zelda clone. In fairness, it did have simultaneous four player play (TG-16 ruled BTW).

And King Natas, IS THE FINAL BOSS, WTF well his name is Satan backwards. LOL.
Seriously though that game in your blog does look fun.

TG-16 does rule, and it's 5 player co-op.

That is all, Turbo out!

That game does look interesting. If Zelda ever becomes an action game, this is the way it should play (unlike Zelda II).

@banodyne: I think you missed the point

It's a pretty good game. While it is an ode to Zelda I saw a lot in common with the Wonder Boy games and even Bonk's Adventure.
