Today I made the biggest purchase of my life:

A Gibson Les Paul Standard electric guitar ( with Gibson Hardshell case)
A Line6 PODXT Effects center
A BOSS Looper 2 pedal
2 Monster Cables
2 spare sets of GHS Boomer 10s
A Gibson guitar cleaning kit

!

I traded in my Fender Squier Affinity Series (as seen here) to take 15% off the Gibson today.

Here I am with my new baby:


For a grand total of $1993.60.

Wow...what a day!

guitars can be an expensive habit. I play keyboards and drums, but my dad plays guitar, and every now and then he will buy a guitar, and its like $5,000!!!! The most expensive one he has now is a custom made paul reed smith. Think it cost him $8,000....

lord knows how much he spent on equipment...

as for my keyboard. that was cheap. $800 for a great keyboard and i had an amp. My drums were a bit pricier, with my current kit costing about $1,300

Nice buy, you'll be much happier with the standard les paul than the squire. And the Line6 Pod XT could be cool too, those Line6 pedals and amps are the few multieffect pedals that I trust. I have a Line 6 guitar as well, the variax 600, which mimics emulates classic guitar tones. Banjos and Sitars and stuff too it's pretty wild.

Poor thing has to be played through a PODxt. Save up and get yourself a small watt tube amp man. Egnater makes a 20 watter that can go down to 1 watt.

She's a beauty, though. Take care of her.

I will be getting a tube amp at some point, a Mesa, most likely. For now, I am in a college dorm and it isn't practical. Through my Sennheisers, it sounds great enough.
