And a decent deal on it, too. Too lazy to take pictures, but you all know what it looks like by now.
$200 off of Craigslist for the system, boxed with everything that would come with a normal retail unit, and: -extra remote and nunchuck ($60 MSRP) -Super Smash Brothers Brawl ($50 MSRP) -Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (which now goes for like $20) Well, I already bought SSBB from a lightening deal on Amazon, and intend on trading in both games towards the 40% (50% with Edge) that Gamestop is having right now, which will be about $40 in credit not counting the other games I throw in with them. Minus the cost of the extra controllers and that's about $100 for the system when all is said and done, about as much as I wanted to pay. The credit will go towards games I want, and I'll probably sell or get rid of my Gamecube to take off the cost (all $5 that I'll get for it), along with the GC component cables and Gameboy Player. I'm happy enough, and already started RE4: Wii Edition which I got off Amazon for $10 new. Controls take some getting used to, but I'm already loving them. Stopped by Gamestop on my way home to get some component cables, naively forgetting that the 1st-party cables are $35 Shaq-fuing dollars. Times like these I'm extra glad to be a CAG and know about Monoprice.com. |

Now go get all the rail/lightgun games you possibly can! That's the best thing the Wii has going for it, especially HOTD: Overkill.

Good call, RE4 is almost worth buying a whole Wii for. I'm just going to start a new game of that instead of getting RE5.
Make sure to get Excite Truck, too. It's probably the most fun I've had with any racing game. Or just wait for Excite Bots to come out next month! ![]() |

@The Crotch: Yeah I was expecting that almost exactly. My goal was to not pay $250 for a system I knew I wouldn't play a shitload, and in that I succeeded.

Biggest mistake you have ever made. It seems like a good idea at first, and for a month or so you enjoy it. Then you play all the good games, and think why did I buy this shitty thing to start with.

As usual, Crotch adds nothing to this conversation.
Also, some grown-ups I know seem to enjoy Boom Blox. |

@jman: In the event of that, I'll just sell it when I'm done. I'm well aware of how disappointed most CAGs (at least it seems so) are with it, but there's a good consensus also for having it as a secondary system.
That and I know few people who played SSB as much as I did over the past 8 years, and I see the community/thread for that game in particular is still thriving. |

Hey, a good deal is a good deal. I recently turned my Wii back on for Madworld and have been really enjoying it.
There are plenty of games to keep you busy now that you got one, I think some people are just bitter becuase there's not much to play IF you've already completed all of the obvious choices. After Madworld I'm going to go back and see if I can start finding some Gamecube stuff that I missed or avoided to hold me over until the next big PS3 hit. |

Yeah, the Metroids and Marios will keep me busy long enough to get my time/money out of it, I think. Definitely interested in a few VC games, too (Mario 2j, Sin & Punishment, and a few N64 games for the graphical/clarity upgrade I've heard such good things about).
I'm also looking forward to the GC remakes, especially Metroid Prime 1 & 2. I never finished 2, and I'd love to play them in 16:9 with better controls. |

It's great if family or friends who are not gamers come over they can still have fun.

Nice pickup, even if you don't like it a year from now, you'll
STILL be able to sell it for more than what you paid for. It's like a risk free trial. |
