Call of Duty: Hot Potato! |

So......I finally bet CoD:WaW today on veteran mode. Lets see, how to sum up this game.
1. Too ing many grenades! I don't know if it was because I was playing on veteran, but holy crap! I would be sitting in cover trying to reload while playing hot potato with some nazis. I would run up to cover and then, "holy shit three grenades. Ok I'll just run over here....WTF!, more grenades!" So, I run back and get sandwiched between two grenades and die. This happened way too too too many times. There were times where within in a 5 to 10 second period, I would have 5 to 8 grenades thrown at me. I would sit their like, "Aww.......FUCK!" It was hard enough to get cover and avoid dying from just a few shots, but dancing around from cover-to-cover dodging grenades was ridiculous.2. Really inconsistent difficulty. Numerous times such as when I was playing "Eviction", I would make through most of the level rarely or in this case not dying once and then BAM! I got to the metro and it was just ing infuriating. I ended up rage quitting the first time I tried. The whole storming the Reichstag was ridiculously hard too. Maybe, playing on veteran wasn't really worth it, but this was the hardest FPS campaign I've ever played and I beat COD4 on veteran including Mile High Club. What was everyone else's experience with the campaign? |

I found myself rarely shooting through some of the levels, but just jumping from one hiding spot to the other.

I hear Cod:WaW was pretty bad about that stuff. It kind of killed any enthusiasm I had about playing through the story in the first place (which wasn't much honestly)

Luckily, I just rented the game from Gamefly instead of buying it. This one is being returned immediately tomorrow. The game visually looked awesome like COD4, but Treyarch just can't match Infinity Ward's awesomeness.

Yea, playing Cod:WaW on veteran is the most frustrating experience I went through because it was just too cheap with the nade spawns. It's just shoddy programming to just add more nade spawns and less health for veteran mode. This is truly aggravating especially when your in a choke point, and there are many choke points in Cod:WaW. To Treyarch, I raise two middle fingers up in the air.

On the last level I got stuck in between a wall and a guy named Evans (I think) and I had to do it over again. I definitely think COD4 was harder though. That airplane deal took forever and a day within a few minutes.

I got so many levels in. And I think a Japanese level just beat me down.. Couldn't move without a sniper or grenade taking me out.
I'll go back to it... But not till i'm bored. |

I got stuck between some sandbags and one of my men. I ended just having to stand up and get shot to death. It was so stupid.
I forgot to mention that when I was playing this one German level where at one point, you are overlooking an MG42 and the path to left leads to some trenches where enemies kept spawning and running up the path. I just "loved" how the enemies ran past ALL my men and without any interference and just ganged up on me. |

That level was absolutely atrocious. I ended up just trying to run my way to checkpoints to get through it.

I normally play every CoD games on hardened for my first play, then veteran on the second play through. After the frustrating nade spam fest that was CoD: WaW on hardened, I didn't even bother with Veteran.
Other than a dozen or so really frustrating trial and error or just plain dumb luck parts, I enjoyed the game very very much. Best non Infinity Ward developed CoD game yet. |
