Lumines Live, to purchase or not to purchase?

Since I got in on that free 100 MS pts offer last night, I've been looking at my options for spending a bit of the wealth right now before saving the rest for future upcoming games.
The first game I was looking at was Lumines Live. I loved the first game on the PSP before I sold it during the spike in ebay pricing for the game and have since somewhat regretted it, though picking up Gunpey mostly made up for that sacrifice. Now that I have some points to spend, I was looking at picking Lumines back up and wanted to know if it's a worthy purchase or not? Getting all of the DLC would be mostly a waste, I think, at $42 worth of modes and such that probably should've been included in the first place. I was thinking that instead, I'd pick up the base game and the two song packs for just under 1600 pts. There were a few other XBLA games, whose demos I enjoyed, that I was considering finally picking up. Those were Heavy Weapon, E4, and TMNT, though I'm guessing the latter shouldn't be considered unless I have co-op partners ready to go, right? What do you guys think? Any suggestions? |

I would go with E4, as Lumines Live can be harder to control using the 360 controller (which I had a hard time with).

Get base and Advance. That is enough to get you started. The only problem I have with the game is that sessions can last upwards of an hour or more.

Kain: My main hesitance with E4 is that I have the PSP game, which I haven't played much of yet.
Casey: They hid more skins in the advance pack? I'll think it over. Is there a list anywhere of all of the skins available for the game? |

Is Heavenly Star still free DLC?
I <3 that song. (In Lumines) The games your suggesting are all pretty good and I have them all, |

I don't see anything that's free, so I guess not.

Lumines Live is great. HD graphics with 5.1 surround sound. GET IT!

As much as I love Lumines, I would say the live version was a disappointment since you have to pay up the wazu (sp?) for the complete game, control wise is a bit different to master if you played the hell out of the psp versions ( d pad gave me the most problems, had more ease with the joystick), and imo, it came out to late.
I would save your 1200 points on something else (or is it 800 now? I forgot, but I know it was one of the games on Live that they dropped the price on). If you do get it though, send me a friend request on live if you want someone to play with (GT=ZerotypeX) |

I'd definitely say get TMNT if you don't already have it. As for Lumines and Heavy Weapon...maybe not so much. Microsoft keeps trying to pawn Heavy Weapon off at any chance they get for free, and Lumines is done better elsewhere.
I'm in the same boat you are. I have all these points on live and nothing to spend them on. |

Buy Lumines and TMNT and invite me to play.

Count me in for some coop TMNT, as soon as my 360 comes back from the shop. I still dig on some Rez HD too. I'm watching the price of Lumines at GS for psp as that seems a better game on the go in my opinion. Sketchy Forest Animals FTW!
