As we near the end of our server transition at Gamer 2.0, the staff and I are still working hard to put out content on SmashPad until that is complete and we get our site back. For me, I've been working on a few reviews this month on a cheap PSN game, Trash Panic, and two PSP games that aren't so cheap, Rock Band Unplugged and Steambot Chronicles: Battle Tournament.
Steambot Chronicles: Battle Tournament "Steambot Chronicles: Battle Tournament does a nice job of being a fairly entertaining game, though the short experience that capped at 14 hours for us definitely seems to be an issue when you learn that the game will cost you $39.99. Such an expensive cost of entry for a game without much replay value, unless you’re engrossed enough to beat all of the missions and collect all of the parts, kills the appeal of the game when there are better experiences in recent memory to be had for much cheaper." Steambot Chronicles: Battle Tournament for the PSP received a Rent It recommendation. You can find the full review at SmashPad here. Rock Band Unplugged "Rock Band Unplugged does a great job of bringing the Rock Band experience to the PSP in a format that fits the portable experience very well compared to other portable ports of console music games. If your only reason for interest in Unplugged is for the new, fresh tracklist, this is definitely not the game for you. However, if you’re more interested in having Rock Band on the go and in a form that works well for the PSP, Unplugged is certainly a game you should check out." Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP received a Buy It recommendation. You can find the full review at SmashPad here. Trash Panic "Trash Panic is an oddly endearing game that may not be a game you will beat or master anytime soon, but the feeling that you’re on the grasp of beating any of these stages makes it a bit of an addictive game. The major reason to get this game is that it’s only $4.99, so it’s nicely priced for a puzzle game that just puts a good twist on what is essentially a block-dropping puzzle game." Trash Panic for PSN received a Buy It recommendation. You can find the full review at SmashPad here. Coming Up Right now, I'm working on reviews for Heavy Weapon on PSN and Sam & Max Save the World for XBLA. After that, I've got nothing really lined up at the moment, though I'm working on getting NCAA Football 10. |

I can wait on Steambot. I'd like to finish the PS2 game first and wait for a price drop or get it from Goozex.
