New Comic: Project Fiona

Please check it out:
http://legacy-control.com/2012/01/11/project-fiona/ The Strip: So yeah, this Project Fiona thing…My knee jerk reaction was that I wanted it. But I don't really want it…because WTF will I do with it? Its too bulky to actually be a portable gaming device, and you can't use a keyboard and mouse with it so LAN parties are out…so again…WTF would I do with it? Gaming: I have still not gamed since last week…but i will game this weekend. I want to download a few demos, and of course play some skyrim. TV/Movies: Jeopardy with my wife…this is what I am reduced to. Music: Nothin'…. Life: My work was kind enough to purchase a new Wacom Inkling for me and a few other fellow employees to test out for possible business related applications. So far I am very impressed with its ability to capture the detail of even the most subtle movements. I wish A4 wasn't the required paper... |

CheapyD Homie in Saints Row: The Third Available 1/17 + Official Trailer
By CheapyD 01-12-2012 08:06 PM
|
|
I'm happy to announce the CheapyD Homie DLC will be available for free on all platforms, starting January 17th. Even if I bought my way in, it's still an incredible honor for me to be included in this outstanding video game. Working with the Volition guys has been awesome and I really hope I have the opportunity to do so again. After downloading this DLC, you'll be able to call me up on your cell and have me shoot people in the face for you. Or, as you can see in the above trailer, you can set me on fire and listen to me scream like a young woman. Important Details:

What I'll be playing in 2012 |
|
So it's nearly two weeks into the new year. I'm never on time with my ideas.
2011 wasn't that bad for me. especially when you consider only one of these games is left in my backlog from the previous year. Of the 9 games pictures I only fully beat 3 of them. 33% completion rating. Not too good. I did play all however. DS fared worse. I didn't actually finish any of these games. I did play (nearly to the end) 5 of them, however. So what's on deck for 2012? Most of these games pictured came in the latter two months of 2011, so they're nearly all "New for 2012" games for me. (Except you Dark Void. I doubt you'll get played in 2012 either) Currently working on R&C and Fallout New Vegas simultaneously. And the Just gave up at the last battle of Luminous Arc 2, so I'm about to start Nostalgia. ... |

Gaming Podcasts -- The 2nd Year
By bkjohns1 01-12-2012 01:07 PM
|
|
I started listening to gaming podcasts about a year ago and I did a previous blog shortly after that. So, I thought I would follow-up with myself as to what I am still listening to, have added since then, and dropped.
Podcasts I am still listening to: The Married Gamers I'm listening to much of the older (2008-2010) ones. They pretty much only play 360 (a little bit of Wii and DS, but got a PS3 in 2009). I enjoy listening to them. They got a pretty good banter back and forth. I find it interesting to hear how they game together, because I wish my wife would take some interest in the few 2-player co-op games I have. Some of there better episodes are the ones with guests from other podcasts. They tend to frequently have guests, which has introduced me to what other videogame podcasts are out there, but unfortunately I don't have the time to listen to them all. What I really dislike is their reviews (which are few and far between) because they tend... |

Tired of the console experience
By SynGamer 01-11-2012 08:18 PM
|

This morning it finally dawned on me (no pun intended) that I’m not tired of games as I once feared. No, I still enjoy games immensely. What I’m tired of is the gaming experience at home and what it has become: Buy $60 game. Unwrap it, smell it…it smells new, I like that. Insert the game into console. Install. Wait. Wait some more. It’s loading. Still loading. Start Screen, finally! Intro sequence…can I play? Nope, can only watch. Lame.
Gone are the days where you pop a game in and just start playing. Why has the process become so long and drawn out? I understand graphics have improved, along with audio, and we now have online multiplayer modes. But at their core, games are supposed to be fun, instant (or near instant) gratification. I’ve also become frustrated with the whole being confined to the living room, or bedroom, or wherever I happen to have one of my consoles setup. I feel as though gaming has turned into a movie-going experience, and that isn’t a good thing: Buy... |

It's Mouse Hunt up in here, and I'm Nathan Lane!

Winter has fallen upon us, and with the dropping temperatures, nature's little scroungers decide that instead of dealing with it, why not just move into the big, warm house.
About a month ago, I realized we had such a visitor. One morning, I went into the kitchen and on one of the dirty dishes in the sink, was enough mouse crap to fertilize a small potted plant. I assumed that from the insane amount of poop left in one night, we were dealing with many mice. I went to Target later that day and picked up a few packs of snap traps. I immediately got started with strategically placing the traps, after baiting them with peanut butter. When I felt satisfied, I went off to do other things. Due to my natural impatience, I occasionally checked on the traps throughout the day, only to be disappointed. The next morning, I go into the kitchen to find..... Nothing. None of the traps were set off, but all of the PB was gone. It seemed I was dealing... |

Anyone love dry cereal (without milk)?
By The Mana Knight 01-11-2012 03:47 PM

|
I was about to write a blog discussing about milk, but then the topic changed because people asked if I put milk on my cereal. I know that people already think I'm the weirdest eater in this world, but I felt this was a topic worth discussing.
Currently I eat three cereals, Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Rice Krispies. I use to eat regular Cheerios (until having burnt Cheerios in boxes got me away from eating them), Honeynut Cheerios (bad experiences with some boxes), and Frosted Flakes (too sweet for me). Despite eating all those cereals, never do I put milk in my cereal. The main reason I never put milk in cereal is because it gets soggy. I just don't like the taste of soggy soft cereal. I like my cereal to taste crunchy, but not burnt. To me cereal has more taste without milk. The other reason I don't put milk with cereal is because I just don't care for milk. When I was a young kid, I use to drink milk a lot. But for some reason just before I started... |

The Most Underated Movie of 2011
By MattJ1991 01-10-2012 10:48 PM
|
|
Last year I wrote a blog highlighting a film from that year that I felt was underrated and forgotten and I wanted to draw as much attention to it as I could. It went pretty well so I thought I'd make it an annual thing and this year I decided that I would write about Water for Elephants. Now once again keep in mind that this is my opinion and it isn't fact or anything, it's simply the movie that I feel got a bad wrap in 2011.
Let me start by pointing out the odd similarities between this years and last years pick. Both star Robert Pattinson, both have roughly the same IMDb score and both received a 9/10 from me. The most significant similarity between the two movies however is that they were both marketed wrongly as romance films. The film does have a romance going on between Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon but the real story is of a young, recently orphaned... |

Please check it out:
http://legacy-control.com/2012/01/09/myspace-2/ The Strip: So at CES..yeah…Justin…MySpace…I am a fan….whatever..judge all you want. I don't care. Also I thoroughly enjoy drawing Aggro in all the weird poses. Gaming: I haven't, for a week. It hurts…But I've been balls deep in webomicing people! TV/Movies: There is this show…its called "Work It"…its like bus am buddies, but with no talent, or writing, or anything redeemable. If you see it, kill it, and bury it. Music: JT…WHAT!?! Life: So yeah…not a whole lot going on other than focus on the comic. I have a lot of things I am trying to balance and get out. I hope you all will enjoy it. Javis |

Final Fantasy XIII-2 demo impressions |
![]() Really generous demo, though I'm still unsure of what to expect of the full game. Opening with a fight against a colossal giant, it's apparent the combat is fundamentally the same. This fight however, I did not like, even as a tutorial. XIII had its brainless boss fights for you to learn the game through as well, but they were much more visually arresting. This colossus takes up the entire screen and it's hard to appreciate any of the actions of Sarah and Noel, and so the fight was a rather sleepy waiting game. This may be becasue the demo starts without a narrative introduction to add intensity to the fight, but I don't think anything is going to top XIII's runaway train sequence in this regard. The poppy new boss theme was a lot of fun to listen to though, and I hope to hear more like it in the full game. If not, the primary battle theme and Hamauzu's continued love of the violin for the XIII franchise will suffice... |

Noobs with Jobs, and the Job Complainers.
By the_grimace 01-09-2012 05:58 PM

I'll try to keep this rant as short as possible, but knowing me, don't expect it. Haha. I've been unemployed now for 5 months, going on 6. I have ben job searching for 8 months. I literally spend 40 hours or more a week just trying to market myself/apply to jobs. Whether it be contacting companies, filling out tedious job applications, making additions to my portfolio or website, or simply just digging up information on any jobs I could find, I've been approaching the job search very aggressively.
Needless to say, I haven't had much luck. I usually am lucky to land one interview a month, and despite the dozen or so interviews I've had up to this point, I haven't been able to get an offer. Being unemployed has been a really hard struggle for me. I've pretty much drained my entire savings trying to live (just bills, food, rent.. etc. Haven't bought a personal purchase in months). I'm living off money my parents have sent me, and some of my girlfriend's income. The... |

Dear Proffessional Sports Please Get With the Times
By el swordo 01-09-2012 03:53 PM

I don't like paying for cable. I barely watch it anymore. I have spent more time burning through backlogs of tv shows on netflix then watching live tv lately. Sure you can get Sunday ticket on the ps3 but it's so damn expensive I could go to a bar and drink about 5 beers during the course of the game and still come out ahead. Nhl gamecenter looks awesome but you have to wait 48 hours to watch the game. I love hockey, but why would I want to watch a game 2 days after it airs? I have better things to do then watch a game I probably know the final score too and if I didn't I could find out in 30 seconds worth of googling? For soccer I have season tickets and for the other half the supporters groups have watch party for away games at a local pub, but that pub is out of range of reasonable public transportation time. I only really watch ota programming, a few comedy central shows, and occasionaly i put on history/discovery when I'm bored as well as 2-3 hbo/showtime shows. I don't...
