These are the video games I enjoyed from the year 2011! Now that I have a job I was able to actually buy video games close to launch date! Yeee Haaa! Keep in mind I know there are a lot of good games in 2011 but since I got a job in September I ended up enjoying a lot of games from around that time period but here are my top 3!

Mario Kart Sev7n (Nintendo 3DS) I picked this up shortly after launch at Kmart when they had the 15$ gaming coupon to go with it. As the 4th Nintendo 3DS game I picked up this was pure awesome kartness and I've been playing it almost daily doing all the circuits to unlock characters and collecting coins to unlock more customizable options for my karts. I really enjoy the customization of the karts and I really dig the tight mechanics in the game. I think the 3d doesnt do much but it looks okay though personally I don't really care for 3d in racing games unless it aids...

I haven't made a pick-up blog since April or May so I decided to show every game I've bought in 2011.

First up is the 3ds I bought. I ended up buying it when it popped up for 129.99 on ebay sold via buy.com





Next is the 360/Wii games. I got Gears 3 on release day from Amazon with all those pre-order bonuses. Halo Reach was the amazing 14 bucks from Gohastings with a case that isn't exactly the original one, but I find it neat.



First batch of ps3 games. I pre-ordered Uncharted 3 when it was 47.99 on newegg and I got it a day after release. Pre-ordered UMVC3 and got it a day after release day for 29.99 from newegg. Paid retail for King Of Fighters XIII and got it on release day with the soundtrack from Amazon.

I was glad to start the New Year right with my Ravens and Bulls winning yesterday, but today I saw sad news people were tweeting about relating to Bandai Entertainment. What makes me blog about this article is because they really meant a lot me.

Time for my once yearly post of the games I beat in the preceding year. Really poor year for unique games this time all due to working 70 hour weeks for around six months straight, though that overtime did allow me to knock out F3AR and Arkham City dozens (or hundreds) of times. Plus I was finally able to remove some pains off my shelf, the two Picross titles and GTAIV.

I finally heard that Nintendo had a new system in the works. The controller looked like a huge iPad but with buttons, the commercial for the Wii U was kinda weird and cheesy. First where they show you can play the game one the controller while someone watches TV, that's a cool figure but ugh the acting of the guy asking to watch Baseball was just horrendous. Watch it again, it'll give you chills.... ANYWAY I don't really like the look of the new controller, too bulky and weird. Even when they showed it off It got me upset that now they may just be pushing the motion controls away. It may be cool but since I got Skyward Sword the fighting is awesome on how you have the swing a certain way and how you block. But with the new controller is it just gonna be press B to swing?....
I really hope they don't kill of the motion controllers, That's what made the Wii famous....for a little while. I'm glad they finally are doing HD. One thing they didn't touch on was how the online games will...

As a long time movie goer, I've seen it all...good movies, bad movies and of course experienced what everyone has to deal with......talkers/teens/cell users.

Last night my gf and I wanted to go see New Years Eve, which my local theater only had one showing left. Anyways so we arrived and found our seats in as we suspected would be a *small* screen theater. We were away from everyone else when a group of 8th grade girls come around and ask if we were saving the seat for someone... I should have said yes, but my gf said "NO"....which meant trouble.

As expected they kept on getting up, changing seats and talking during the previews. I could hear people behind us telling them to "shut up" but they wouldn't listen. Finally I said "Will you shut the hell up!"... they stopped, freaked...

I never got today as a holiday as far back as 6 years ago working but since this years New Years falls on a Sat/Sunday every city/county agency and all wholesalers I need are taking the holiday. Bastards.

The Strip: This strip is for all you other creators out there. You know exactly what I am talking about on this one. Hopefully I captured that moment of realization, that all of us who create comics, have when we realize what we have committed ourselves to. Let me say…I wil lake it all. All the sacrifice and shit that comes alone with making a comic…its totally worth it. Hell, its worth it just for the other great creators and fans I have met. I truly love this shit and I and going to work so so hard this year to get better.

Gaming: Skyrim., Rayman, Dance Central 2. yeah.

TV/Movies: Watched Drive tonight…holy shit it was far gorier than I had anticipated…but I like it it…I liked it a lot.

Last Friday I attended CAG member nightmare452's the night before New Years Eve party. Just as I was about to leave, he said I should have a party at my place sometime. Outside of maintenance, not a single person has been inside my place since October 2010 (my dad was there). I only had maybe 3 friends over at my place before (two online, one was a co-worker), along with each of my family members. That was not the first time I heard that because I had co-workers discuss I should have an egg nog party, and many others discuss how I should hold a party at my place (ever since college). I avoided it while living with my parents because they were strict. I avoided in college because I was always busy with school work, and my place was very small (studio apt. can't fit much). So what holds me back now?

1. The size of my place is small. It's only 750 square feet. I sort of worry about not having enough space for people to move around a lot. Then again, nightmare452...

I absolutely can't wait for the vita. I have it paid off at gamestop and will most likely go to the midnight release. The prices on the memory cards are ridiculus though. Come on 32gb for $100? I bought a 32gb micro sd for my mp3 player for $30 from amazon the other day. Sure it's a class 4 memory card which people say is too slow for games but that is bs. A class 4 card will still be faster than any harrddrive and the ps3 plays hd games just fine off a standard 5400rpm harrddrive. If they could get cheap memory out that would be a huge selling point. Especially for playstation plus members who have a huge amount of games they have aquired from that service. It just doesn't make sense to buy the 32gb one off that bat. The 8gb is pretty reasonable at $30 but still overpriced. Heck I saw a 8gb micro sd on sale for $4 today. Doesn't it seem kind of shortsighted by sony to charge so much?

I'm calling it now.

...and I have no idea what my favorite game is. I made a conscious effort to buy less this year. I'm going to try and buy even less in 2012. I think I've played Jetpack Joyride the most, but I wouldn't say it was the most enjoyable. So yeah...2011 was the year I started playing less games and spent more time with family and reading A Song of Ice and Fire (2 more books to go).

I think my next game might be Rayman Origins. If I can get to EB before it goes off sale.

I didn't get a chance to post for Week 51 because I was way too sick. Was very medicated to make it through xmas and then didn't even play anything for 5 days.. wound up missing 3 days of work too. Let's just say it has not been fun. I'm not better but I'm "better" if that makes sense. In Week 51 though I played some Halo, Dead Island, Toy Story 3, and Left 4 Dead 2. I beat The Sacrifice DLC for L4D2 so was able to take it out of my backlog. Finished the level Truth and Reconciliation in Halo. Did a few more sidequests in Dead Island. And moved out of the toybox onto the regular levels in Toy Story 3. I decided to count the 31st in my gameplay for Week 52 just so I can get a fresh start on the 1st for next year. Actually to make it work I think I will just move my blogs to Sunday-Saturday whereas before they were...

This is year 2 of me tracking my game purchases. This year I have included hours played and divided that by cost to get an hours per dollar amount. My goal was for an hour of video game playing to cost a dollar. Thank god for RPGs as I wound up with $.71 per hour. Note that this doesn't include free games from PS+, demo hours (minutes), or games that I borrowed from friends.

Going to keep away from any major spoilers...

Full disclosure, I LOVE Uncharted 2. Everything from the story, characters and set pieces made me feel like it's truly one of the great gems of this console generation. It felt like the perfect example of how to take a sequel and make and expand upon it in everyway. That and it gave me one of favorite female characters ever, Chloe. So to say I was looking forward to Uncharted 3 was a bit of an understatement, but unfortunately Uncharted 3 felt...well, disappointing.

Now it's not a bad game mind you, but in the very least I was expecting something at least on par with the last game in terms of single player experience. It hits some of those notes, for one the scenary, graphics and some of the set pieces are amazing. It's always a bit breathtaking when the camera suddenly pans away and you realize this is all real time graphics they're working with. After moments like that though it felt like the game was...kinda rushed....
