So for those of you that haven’t been keeping up (and if you haven’t, how on earth did you manage to come across this blog in the first place? ;]), there is to be a new DS on the block; the DSi. Some people see it as the way forward, others see it as alienating a still existing audience. But to the latter, I say this: Wasn’t that the thoughts on the Wii, way back in the day?

So here are my first thoughts on it, in terms of love and hate:

Love

• Keeping the DS Lite form factor. I am genuinely glad that they have kept it in this size. The size is what puts it over the PSP in terms of portability, and the DSi will be the same rough size, except for a few millimetres here and there.
• Onboard memory/browser. FINALLY someone has had the idea of allowing memory onto the DS without having to use piracy devices. And it looks like they have taken a leaf out of Sony’s book and added the DS browser into

so today i decided to travel a little bit further into town than i usually do and discovered a new comic shop and me and my brother decided to stop in. the second we walked in we were greeted by a nice man who saw we had never been there before and started chatting to us about the dc universe and helped me get back into the whole thing a little as ive been outa the comic thing for a little bit of time now and he grabbed some comics off the rack he thought we would like after talking a little and said you guys can have these for free. i got.

So on my last blog entry, I took a big gamble: Withdrew money from my savings for a interview with a potential employer and in the end, I didn't get the job. It was a good job too: Great Pay, Benefits, I get to travel again, etc.

Typical "Even though you fit well, the other candidate we picked fits better" explaination.

Will I get the fare reimbursed? I don't think so, but I might use that as a tax deduction since the trip I took here was business.

At least I get to see my friends and family again. I also appreciate them cheering me up that I didn't get the job and take it as a lesson. I also feel God wanted me to stay in Tennessee. Well, I am now until whatever fate takes me.

My flight is in 2 1/2 hours and will go straight to work once I land. It's going to be a fun night on the plane.

Back to my reality once I land tomorrow morning.

The handheld's screens have been enlarged, and will now be 17% bigger also now include a 3 megapixel camera. and say bye bye to the GBA Slot
The DSi also features an SD memory card slot, making it possible to take pictures with the DSi and then view them on the Nintendo Wii. The DSi features a built-in browser, and it's possible to download games and keep them on the DSi.

Okay so I've mentioned that I'm pretty broke and at this point buried in debt? How much so...well I've decided to make an ongoing segment called "How Broke is Goomba".

With the economy going down the drain (and possibly my job...today the casino I work for announced that they will be laying off 700 workers this month alone...) I have to work fast to start paying off some of that. My steady income from two jobs helps, but as interest for my credit cards (on average around 20%) comes in my payments are eaten almost the second I pay them. I have a stock pile of games though as you may have seen in my last Gamecube post, so I'm going to try and sell some things fast. Please if you see something you like let me know. When does a simulation leave 'game' territory and become an exercise in analytical flow charting? Air Traffic Chaos for the Nintendo DS sure straddles that area...


Typically, most of us play games recreationally. For some, an hour fragging opponents in Call of Duty 4 might be the perfect catharsis after a punishing day at the office. Therefore, one of the great ironies of modern gaming may be the sudden proliferation of games simulating work. Even at Tech-Gaming, we find out workdays book-ended over the virtual grill in Order Up!, performing surgery in Trauma Center, or litigating as Phoenix Wright.

One of the least likely occupations to be simulated in video games, is also one of the most stressful- the air traffic controller. On duty, a moment of inattention can mean the loss of hundreds of lives. Thankfully, the shifts in Air Traffic Controller, a new title for the Nintendo DS, are...

Yesterday, I turned 15. But I'm not having a party till Friday. All my friends and family are coming and that means a lot of gifts. I usually get money from everyone but I occasionally get a game. (I'm getting The Force Unleashed from my cousin.) I'm expecting at least over $200 because I usually get that every year, but my twin brother might give me some of his money for games because he plays games as well.

This all comes down to one question. What games should I get. I'm planning on getting Fallout 3, Fable 2, something else. Possibly Gears 2, but I've got over a month to decided on a third game. Do you think these are good choices, or should I get something else.

Apparently Sony is strongly considering or are already preparing to make arrangements for a portable version of Little Big Planet. Mark Healy of Media Molecule claims that there is definitely some thought going into the PSP version of the game. This is some fairly exciting news if you own a PS3, PSP, and have an urge to create a lot of stuff. Oddly enough in an earlier article last month from gamesindustry.biz Alex Evans of Media Molecule claimed that it would be impossible to re-create Little Big Planet on the Xbox 360. So how is it going to turn out on the PSP if the 360 can't even handle Little Big Planet? Albeit there are some obvious differences between the PSP and PS3 in terms of storage and power, but it is suggested by Healy that you will be able to upload content from your PSP to your PS3 version. That's hella ambitious if you ask me, developer Media Molecule may be biting off more than they can...

I dont know if tis me but for some reason this game has me frustrated at times with solving some of the puzzles. The stupidest little things are whats getting me to go nuts. I was stuck at one part the other night for about 20 min before having to go to an online guide. I thought this game was marketed for family and especialy kids, but I have to say that its a little more challenging than it appears. Anyone else feel the same????

I hate thinking of titles for blog posts, so unless its something worth noting like a review, specific video, or something like that, I'm not using titles anymore.
Glad I got that out of the way. Couple of things, first off I'm almost to the point in Fallout 3 where I won't continue until the patch. I could short cut past the point where I'm freezing in the main quest, but I want to do the entire main quest. So I'll be on Gears 2 until Thursday, then its Lich King for a while!

Co-Optimus sat down with Fable 2 Lead Designer, Dean Carter, to get the skinny on the cooperative mode despite the recent announcement of the much touted "orb mode" might not make the game's launch.

Here's an excerpt from the interview:

Quote: Co-Optimus: If you have a Good character and your co-op buddy is Evil, does this affect how the NPCs perceive you? Is there any advantage/disadvantage to this? Dean: We tried going for a split AI system at one point, but – due to the fact that the hero and henchman are so physically close most of the time (as they’re both on screen) – players found it almost impossible to decipher who an NPC comment was aimed at. When thirty people are gathered around you, there really needs to be a combined, single message otherwise things get very confusing, and actively damage the feeling of ‘heroism’. As such, NPCs react to henchman as an extension of the hero – after all, they can’t cause mayhem

A lot of great Co-op Games are coming out soon and it'll be awesome to play with some CAG members.

From now on, whenever i play online i will disable all incoming communication. i can't stand it anymore. too much moronic-ness. i don't need some squeaky-voiced preteen saying how gay everything/everyone is and i don't need elitest bastards telling me how much i suck because im level 21 in cod4 and they are level 55 running around with the best LMG.

so, best solution? disable all communication. i have MUCH more fun knowing that if i kill somebody i don't get to hear there whining. i just have the satisfaction on knowing that i killed them. and if someone kills me, i just shrug it off and keep going. i do the same thing in tf2 on PC. except on PC games, annoying people can type out messages.

this is only in effect for deathmatch like games. for teamwork related games where there is actual TEAMWORK going on and not moaning and groaning about how everybody isn't doing what you think is right. and for games like burnout paradise or crackdown where it's just...

The Saw movies have been being released every year a week before Halloween since I believe the first one. Well guess what's releasing the same exact day as Saw 5? Oh yes... High School Musical 3. I for one find this to be absolutely epic. What are these people at Disney smoking? You could just imagine how the lines are going to look next to each other on October 24th

I am praying someone switches the film reels in a couple theaters so the kiddies get scarred for life
