Poppin and Lockin at Little C's

By rick3000gto 09-10-2008 02:37 AM

Now im sure most of you guys eat Little Caesars. For those of you that have never heard of it they have $5 pizzas all day everyday. Another thing that Little C's supplies us with is humor by having its employees post up on a corner holding an advertisement sign for the pizza. Now i dont understand why some would agree to standing on a corner for hours holding a bright orange sign. As you can see from the pic above the gentleman had no problem and in fact was giving us a show. He was just straight up tearing it up with some funkadelic dance moves. I was surprised that he didn't drop the sign and start break dancing right there. This was quite a laugh for me and my friends. Tim you shoulda seen this guy he was hilarious.

Aaah, the Dreamcast...all the promise and by and large, it delivered. It was a fine system with some great games. Who knows, if it was successful, would we have the 360? Maybe not...

Share your memories of the Dreamcast here...and thanks!

Do you look similar to any celebs?

By DarthPuma 09-09-2008 10:43 PM
(note, easily the worst picture I could have used for comparison, but it's the only recent one of myself that I have)

So, this big black kid named Peter Chase decided one day that I looked like Freddy from I-Carly. His nickname for me is now Freddy, of course.

So I ask you, CAG, do you bear a resemblance to any celebrities?

Picture after the jump!

Before the questions are even asked, I'm 15, 16 in November. I look young because I didn't start puberty till I was in like the 8th grade. Yes, I have testicles, and if you make a comment they very may well end up on your chin.

The day I never saw coming has finally come... o_O

I've told several CAGs some time ago, that I would NEVER buy an Xbox 360 for the following reasons (I'm NOT a fanboy or anything btw, I'm just realistic ):

-Small proprietary HDDs, as opposed to installing your own HDD.
-Paying for XBL Gold membership yearly (I think it's yearly?), as opposed to free online gaming.
-No WiFi built-in, as opposed to PS3's built-in WiFi adaptor (My router is upstairs, and I don't want wires down the stairs.
-Paying with points, as opposed to dollar denomination (it's no big deal though)
-And of course, fear of getting the dreaded RRoD, as opposed to my PS3 which only gets the occasional freeze.

So after these criticisms, why in the world did freakyzeeky buy a freakin' 360 then? Three words... Tales of Vesperia.

No, not Gears of War, or Mass Effect, or Bioshock (coming to PS3 soon, btw ), or even Halo 3. It's all about Tales of Vesperia (I know, I'm crazy... I admit). ...

Giving in to temptation...

By franz ferdinand 09-09-2008 09:31 PM
I confess, I bought a $200 Xbox 360 Arcade to replace my broken Xbox Premium. I still need to send the broken one off for repair, but UPS is a bitch to deal with here in the city. Yeah, I have too much money, but I have a job I hate so I guess it evens out.

Also, I got Too Human. So far, I'm not hating it, but honestly, if this game was released on the PC (which has a ton of Action RPGs) it would rate a 30% or less. I guess its ok for the 360, and I say that as someone who plays hack-n-slash loot-hunting games on the 360 quite often.

I also bought a new gaming PC... for the first time ever it was a pre-built OEM model. Every other PC I've had has been either assembled by me, or handed down from my dad. I got an HP with a quad core AMD 9850 and a GeForce 9800GT for $1100 USD... I also bought it locally since this was before Newegg decided to ignore NYS law.

On the PC, I'm totally enjoying Guild Wars, which is great both because there's...

The PS2 Chronicles: Part 1 - Let the Games Begin!

By Krayt 09-09-2008 08:48 PM
Two days ago I bought 4 games. Two days before that I bought 3 others. Two days from now I plan to buy a few more. All of them are on the PS2. Now why would the proud owner of a PSWii be buying some graphically incompetent trash from the last generation? Well, we all know it's not trash; the last generation of consoles, especially the PS2, is responsible for some of the most amazing gaming experiences of video game history.

So off I went to Gamestop, looking through the bargain bins while kids around me picked up Madden '06...sorry, '09, and some crappy looking, generic Wii games. First off, going to Gamestop was a mistake. I hope you have seen the WhistleBlowerZero videos, because I had not, so I made the mistake of spending $28 dollars on 4 used games, covered in "USED" stickers, ironically saving $2.50 with my damned Edge card (sigh).

So now that I have picked up a good deal of the games I either never purchased or sold when I was a much more...

So I sat down today to play a bit of Pearl, opened the DS, and found out the top screen is completely smashed. Just what I need when money's tight ! Thankfully it looks cheap and easy to fix thanks to some guides I've found. I just have to pick up a screen and a triwing driver, which I've been wanting to get for a long time to clean/repair some of my other systems.

I'm sure other people have posted this (it was on Kotaku, among other things, and mentioned in the CAGcast), but I think it's worth a re-post.

He actually mentions Cheap Ass Gamer in the 9th part (the final part) of the video. The one I've posted above is part 2. Part 1 mysteriously vanished.

If I get pro-Gamestop comments, I won't bother replying. I'm not looking to start an argument, but I think we owe it to the industry we love to be informed.

GoodWill Game Review -Double Dare-

By Agent_BBJ 09-09-2008 05:21 PM
Updated by Agent_BBJ 09-12-2008 10:44 PM (my terrible spelling as usual)

I love old Nickelodeon. I remember turning it on to the laughs of ren and stimpy and rocko’s modern life. The sitcoms like Hey Dude and Salute your shorts. The gameshows where also great from Wild and Crazy Kids, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Nick Arcade, and Double Dare. Double Dare was not may favorite gameshow on Nickelodean. Mine was Nick Arcade because of the video challenges and when they got to go into the video game but this is for another blog. This is about double dare. There were 2 incarnations of double dare (that I can remember), family double dare and double dare.
The game is based of the original double dare.

The gameplay of the game is split into 2. There is the trivia portion of the game and the obstacles. You enter your name and pick the character you want to be. The obstacles are awful. There is a triple click mechanic like in Hot Shots Golf. It never...

Resistance: Fall of Man - Review

By jer7583 09-09-2008 03:33 PM
Updated by jer7583 10-03-2008 12:05 AM
Resistance is an old game, but then the PS3 is probably a new console to many people this year. You might have heard of this praised shooter that launched with the system in 2006. Recently added to the $30 Greatest Hits lineup, many new PS3 owners should be rightly interested in this game.

So does Resistance endure the weathering of launch hype? Is the game underneath the slimy coating of fanboy drool worthwhile? The answer I'd give you is yes, preceded by hesitation.

Resistance is the story of some guy in World War 2 plus aliens. Honestly, I played most of the game with the sound down and my iPod on. Whether that says more about my attention span for stories in games or about the game's story is up to you.

Resistance is a first person shooting game and the first thing any game of that type needs to get right is weight, power, and feel of your weapons. It’s an intangible quality that good FPS games get right, and average ones get wrong. Consider...

6 Flags Magic Mountain Has Sold Out!!!!

By supermodestmouse 09-09-2008 03:11 PM
Recently I went to Six Flags Magic Mountain with my cousins from Seattle. Since I've been living in San Diego for a while, I hadn't been to the park frequently, but usually go for the Halloween stuff. It was usually bare-bone staff, but was still a relatively pleasant experience. It was cheap, it was fun, and the lines weren't THAT bad, maybe an hour max.

I went last weekend and BOY things have changed.

The parking situation is REDICULOUS. They've been steadily raising prices that now the price for parking is almost half if not more than half the price of admission! While walking out, I saw lots of broken glass on the ground and some cars with smashed windows. Thank goodness it wasn't mine, but pity for those it was.

Upon entering the park, they make you walk through metal detectors and check your bags. While a seemingly helpful and preventative measure, it seems the real motive for this is to make everyone throw away their outside food....

I wish I could be playing Dreamcast Today

By jer7583 09-09-2008 02:51 PM
Updated by jer7583 10-03-2008 12:08 AM
Being foolish and responsible, I sold my dreamcast along with a good amount of games when I moved to college, probably to buy some book and to clear room for my soon to be diminishing living space.

Just like the Saturn before it, I've regretted this decision for some time.

I've had the opportunity to purchase both systems since then for reasonable prices - $20-30. Why haven't I? Because any software not using a national sports league license is going to cost you at least that much again! The thought of spending another $200 or so just to get a decent library going is frightening. There's always the chance that you'll get lucky at a local store, or a thrift shop will be selling gold for the price of lead, but otherwise you're kind of out of luck.

More and more people are getting interested in playing old games, so why isn't there a way to get these games for more reasonable prices? The virtual console is a godsend in that regard, but is still...

Gaming Memories Part 1 – Super Mario Shame

By ObiBen 09-09-2008 02:10 PM
Alright, I’ve been thinking about this for awhile and I thought I would start a series of blog posts chronicling my gaming memories. I’ve got quite a few that come to mind so I don’t know exactly how many there will be. I hope you enjoy.

As with any series of events I guess we’ll start at the beginning. My love of video games started with the NES and a little game called Super Mario Brothers. I have played almost all the Mario games and, for those I have played, beaten them…except one. I will openly admit that I have never actually finished Super Mario Brothers. Yes, you read that right. I have gotten far in to the game, but never actually finished it. I even have the game on the Virtual Console, and I still haven’t finished it (hardly turn on the Wii). I know that someday I will, but I’ve got to many other current gen games I need to finish first.

Now, the weird thing is that with Super Mario Brothers 2 and 3 I beat them, but the first...

Mana Knight <3 Dreamcast, Launch Story and More

By The Mana Knight 09-09-2008 11:40 AM
I was thinking about doing a blog on one thing today, and just before I went to bed last night, I started thinking about myself getting a Dreamcast at launch. I decided to blog about my Dreamcast blog story and discuss memorable moments and such with the Sega Dreamcast.

My Dreamcast, It’s Thinking……..

The first time I heard about the Dreamcast was within magazine issues of EGM and Tips & Tricks magazine. Once I saw the graphics and saw Sonic Adventure would be a launch title, I definitely wanted one. I understood Sega had a shaky history, but the Dreamcast really caught my eye I decided to give it a shot. Employees at Babbage’s, EB, etc, also got me more interested showing videos of it constantly in stores (when I use to travel to various cities a lot). It was launching around my birthday, so I was able to make that my birthday present. I also saved up...

So Whats Up with Spore?

By rick3000gto 09-09-2008 02:20 AM

I have been researching for quite a bit now and have learned of what some might call a problem with the game. As most of you know amazons Spore customer review page has been off the hook. It is currently rated a whopping 1 star. http://www.amazon.com/review/product...owViewpoints=1 Apparently EA Has supplied Spore with DRM which many gamers do not like. I personally don't have the game and am unsure whether or not i'll get it but i just wanted to know your thoughts on it.
