Popular on youtube

By pacemakerguy 08-09-2008 08:53 PM
now i don't really get y people that are so popular on youtube got that way. i mean look at some of them they act so stupid, gay, and not funny. one of the top comediens on the site is some kid that does random videos like any one else. but he's not funny! how the hell he get liek thta anyway (popular, views, subscribers) my point it's retarded. some people on there are actually funny, decent videos and don''t act liek comeplete retards. Now i wonder how did this all begining with this youtube thing hey this guy is a little kid talkin really gay and fast lets make him a big person on here. if you know who i mean it's that in Fred kid i HATE HIM. he's not funny at all he's just some gay $$$.
i understand with the pruane2forever kid he's funny to make fun of they say i kinda agree but y make them popular so people can laugh at them. common youtube or youtubers actually find something actually good and make it worth watching.

More Randomness...

I think I am finally done playing MGS4. I've played through the game about 4 times now and earned several of the different badges. I want to go for the Big Boss badge but I don't think I have the patience for it. No kills, no healing items, on hard, in under 5 hours...

I might finally break open my copy of Smash Bros on the Wii. I bought it from Amazon several weeks ago when it was on sale for 1/2 price but I waited to play it since I was in the middle of MGS.

I blogged about a possible cell phone upgrade in an earlier blog. I took the plunge and picked up the Blackberry Curve. I'm really enjoying it. I need a full keyboard on my phone because I like to text but I'm not that good using the number keypad for it.

I stopped by Best Buy this afternoon hoping to nab a copy of Warhawk with headset for $30 as reported by other CAGs due to the game going GH. No such luck. The copies of the game with headset were ringing up $49.99

Best Buy and GameStop (August 9, 2008)

By hugues 08-09-2008 07:35 PM
Stopped by the Gurnee Best Buy and GameStop that are in the plaza with Target. They're both doing the midnight opening thing for Madden '09 if anyone cares.

Here are some deals they have at the moment:

Best Buy
  • The have a rack of games 30%-50%, mostly PS2 and 360, the PS2 selection is mostly last years sports titles and kids games, the 360 side seemed to have a wider selection
  • If you really want Viewtiful Joe for Gamecube, it's $9.99 and they have 10-20 copies
GameStop
  • They have a bin of 50% off preowned titles, it's about 1/2 PS2 with Xbox and 360 taking up the rest - the games are really cheap though, 2005 sports games end up at 50 cents, a ton of other titles are in the $5-$10 range
  • While in line someone ahead of me asked about Wii Fit and they said they received and sold a shipment of 100 this week - another large shipment is due early next week

Our first parade for band.
Cherry River Festival in Richwood, WV.
My band friends and I usually play zombies inside the lumber yard before the parade starts.
I used this as an opportunity for her and me to be alone.
I didn't think it would be a good time but around 20 people were pushing me to do it and I cracked.
The conversation is as follows:

Me: Jessica, I have a very awkward question.

Her: What?

Me: Will you go out with me?

Her: (Im not sure what she said, but it sounded like a no)

Me:What? I didn't hear you.

Her: I'll think about it

Friend: ITS TIME FOR LINE UP!!!

Me: need help getting out? (she was stuck in a pile of stacked lumber)

Her: no... *runs out of the lumber yard.*

Later on after the parade, one of my friends eavesdropped and that she said that she said that because she would feel bad if she said no.

Asian girls aren't whores

I love everything Japanese; the culture, clothing, customs, and language. I drew this picture at work of this cute Asian girl.
After I finished it I showed it to my fiancé and told him that I wished I was Japanese because they are so cute. He told me I was cute, he was happy that I wasn't Asian, and the reason Asian girls were cute is because they weren't whores. I never really thought about it that way. I didn't consider their morals and number of guys they slept with to coincide with their appearance. I guess they do have an innocent look to them which makes them cute. Do you guys agree? Are they attractive because they look innocent and aren't whores?

Job Searching Help Needed (Relates to City/Transportation)

By The Mana Knight 08-09-2008 04:13 PM
Some might think I’m making this up here, but I’ve grown quite tired being home all day, browsing forums, not making a single dime (watching my savings about decrease too). Early on in the summer I was enjoying being able to not stress about school work, but now I’m definitely ready to make some contribution to society instead of being worthless.

First off I’ll say, I have a B.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering Tech with a GPA of 3.59. I mentioned in my first blog entry how I felt I had two job opportunities, one at Verizon (due to family connection) and another doing some CAD work for my Dad’s friend. Both ended up falling through because of Verizon laying off tons in my area and my Dad’s friend ended up having a change in plans. Next thing I do is apply for a local company expanding along with sending emails/messages to one old friend who’s a recruiter at a company who hires engineers. I haven’t heard anything back from the local company (I have a number...

UFC 87 Tonight - GSP bulge is bulgier than ever!

By CouRageouS 08-09-2008 03:53 PM
Don't know where I'm going to watch this tonight, but I must.

Main card
Welterweight Championship bout: Georges St. Pierre vs. Jon Fitch
Lightweight bout: Kenny Florian vs. Roger Huerta
Heavyweight bout: Brock Lesnar vs. Heath Herring
Lightweight bout: Manny Gamburyan vs. Rob Emerson
Middleweight bout: Jason MacDonald vs. Demian Maia

Bolded my picks. Would be interesting to see Emerson pull an upset, I find the guy hilarious. I know most people are picking Lesnar and even though Herring took the fight on relatively short notice, I have a feeling he's going to rush in there and get rocked hard when he shoots. The GSP fight could really go either way, Fitch is an animal. But I really want to see how the new GSP and the new BJ Penn will fare off against each other since Penn is supposed to get the winner in December.

Preliminary card
Heavyweight bout: Cheick Kongo vs. Dan Evensen...

My favorite hentai

By Rei no Otaku 08-09-2008 03:08 PM
Dark Love*

Definitely the "darkest" show on this list. Though it's still not that bad. Nowhere near as bad as something like Night Shift Nurses. My favorite part about this show is the hilarious way the sex scenes are animated, and the fact that the girls in it are the dirtiest sluts you'll ever see. When the sex begins it's almost like someone hit the fast forward button because these people FAST. As long as you can take a bit of weird stuff (one scene involves anal, worms, and a rubber tube), this one is a good watch.

Best Scene: Probably the first scene with Miyabi. She's hot, and it really sets the tone for what's to come (pun intended).

Panty Flash Teacher

A very well animated show with what has to be the dumbest female in hentai history. The plot involves a teacher who is blackmailed by her students into having sex with them. The thing is that it doesn't take much to blackmail...

The 2008 Olympic Games
The Olympiad is officially underway, and amidst the promises of blue skies, the opening ceremonies quickly gave China back its' video game-esque brown skyline. One thing that struck me funny was that the world can be brought together by one thing, and one thing only: Radioactive Glow sticks. Seriously, I've never seen so many glow sticks in a single place before. The olympic symbol of the next olympiad will surely be the radioactive glowstick with eyes, arms and legs. World piece will finally occur if that happens. Oh, and the guy that lit the torch. He, officially, has the biggest balls in the world. I'm serious, he's afraid of heights, and he does THAT. Wow. If you haven't watched it, go to youtube, find it, watch it.

Best Shows on Television. Well, Cable.

By kennistond 08-09-2008 03:43 AM
Last year, my TV tuner was broken on the television in my room forcing me to only watch the channels between 48 - 74.

Let me explain to you what my cable T.V. choices are in that section.

MTV2, Comedy Central, Bravo, Oxygen, MSNBC, E!, Cartoon Network, Disney and Toon Disney, USA and not much else.

So, yeah, my choices are very limited. I haven't found a show in a long while that makes me laugh out loud (the others being Arrested Development and The Office.) However, I found one of my new favorite shows of all time.

Psych.

Psych is a show that focuses on Shawn Spencer, who has heightened observational skills and acts as a psychic, along with his long time friend, Gus, who hates most of Shawn's ideas.

It is an extremely funny show and might take the cake for funniest show on cable (tied with It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.)...

...As we last left, our hero was just coming to the realization that his vehicle was on fire, in the bad way. Let's see what happens...

So I see that my engine is on fire, my first reaction of course is to jump back and say "holy shit my engine is on fire". This is where my training kicks in, I remember that all our vehicles have accident report sheets, first aid kits, and mini-fire extinguishers. So I jump to the side of my vehicle, open the door, and find the accident reports. Now apparently, I confused what we do have with what we should have because we ain't got shit. In my calm panic I said screw it and ran to the apartment complex I was currently burning outside of. I knew all apartments complexes SHOULD have fire extinguishers and luckily enough I found one without any trouble. As we all know fire extinguishers are housed in little cases that say "in case...

Red Faction: Guerrilla Beta Impressions

By FriskyTanuki 08-09-2008 01:37 AM
If you haven't signed up for the beta yet because you saw that it was limited to IGN subscribers, you should be happy to know that the beta has been opened up to everybody that has normal IGN accounts, a gold XBL account, and is over 18 years old. Just go here, fill in your info, and see if you get accepted.

The beta itself is fairly lean, as you get just two modes and two maps, though IGN says there's a third map that I've yet to see in the hour or two I've put into the beta so far. The multiplayer seems to be set-up like COD4's party system, so you can create your own party to invite friends into or just play with random players. You can also pick playlists to play, though right now there just seems to be one ranked and one unranked playlist to play in the beta. Unfortunately, it seems that playing with random players kicks you back out to the multiplayer menu instead of letting you continue to play together.

The big change to a third-person camera may not be...

Opening Ceremonies...more like...Shmopening Ceremonies

Tonight I was invited to a dinner party type thing to celebrate the Olympic opening ceremonies. After all the food was devoured, we hobbled slowly to our spots on the couch to enjoy the boob tube. Right off the bat i knew yet again, I had been tricked by the marketing people at NBC!

"8-8-08" was all i heard for the past weeks. That phrase coupled with sounds of suspense, and pictures of famous USA athletes made me more excited than a virgin on prom night. Every time i saw that commercial I got giddy at the thoughts of bronze, silver, and gold (and no, not the trophies on Ps3, although the thought of those are giddy-worthy as well).

When the festivities started immediately remembered "SHIT, i hate this crap." I expected to see Michael Phelps cutting through the water or some tall black dude jumping like 24 feet high. Unfortunately i had been gravely...

i beat this game for the first time today.
this game is pure insanity. i was smiling all the way through just from the craziness i was seeing. and the game going a whole different type of crazy in the 7th and 8th level really took me for a ride.

on a gameplay side. i thought from beginning to end, it was fun and challenging. the bosses were sometimes very hard, but always beatable, and always fun.

i really liked the puzzle aspect in trying to find the hidden 1ups. you'd have to be a little creative in which bad guys to swallow.

well worth 5 bucks, i can't believe i missed this one back in the day.

Many people have been saying they like the music in Braid, and would like to get a hold of the soundtrack.
I don’t have the rights to redistribute the music, but all of the songs were licensed from magnatune.com, where you can listen to them for free and buy high-quality versions of the albums they are on at very low prices that you yourself choose (if you really like the song and want to support the musician, you can choose to pay a lot!)
Here’s a list of the tracks in Braid and links to the Magnatune pages where you can find them. (These songs are also listed in the credits to Braid).

The Music of Mushroom Men Vid

By kidko 08-08-2008 09:22 PM
Updated by kidko 08-08-2008 09:25 PM
Hello fellow CAGs. My company GL33k makes sound effects and music for games and we've been lucky enough to work on some awesome projects, one being RedFly Studio's Mushroom Men. Gamecock came by our studio one day and talked to Matt, our director about the metronome system in the game that allows ambient world sounds, object sounds and the music to all play together at the same tempo without missing a beat. They also wanted to know about the inspiration for the audio style we went with, the grimey dub-influenced music we've written and of course the integration of the music kindly provided by the great Les Claypool.

What seemed like an in-depth piece turned into a bit of a silly wham-bam edit but that's cool, it's probably more entertaining that way. The reception to the vid and the game in general has been better than we could have hoped.

Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet, here's the vid. I'm the guy debuting my incredible nunchuku frying pan style.
