No More... surprises...
By machtdh 07-14-2008 12:35 AM

Over these past weeks, I have been reading about all the rumors/predictions for E3, and I have realized that E3, or basically anything that will be eventually announced... is no longer surprise to anyone, but the people that don't use the internet, but to check emails. I think there are no more "industry secrets" and that developers (gamers like us) take advantage of internet forums and their annonimous operation to let out everything about upcoming releases just for the pleasure of being the FIRST one that seems to know about it. i don't blame them, I would probably do the same in their position. But i do miss the excitement that each E3 was every year. Now is just waiting the "OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE" by developers and manufacturers.
I was just thinking about this after reading the last 4 post that deal with E3 stuff. Thanks for them btw. |

Worst Art I've Done in a While, and Secrets + Important Things You'll Miss @ E3 08'

So I decided today I wanted to do a quick little diddy of a character I've loved so much (and yes, it may be sexual so I'm scared... jk... I think... ??? wtf? nvm...). It turned out alot shittier than I wanted but I will post it anyway:
![]() I don't like it, but you may like poor old Kyle Hyde >_< on another note, here are things you need to pay attention to that may slip you by at E3 this year: - Xseed and Marvelous Lineup - Do not miss what this guys have. Little King, Korg DS, and Game Center CX really deserve all your attention over the bigger E3 titles. You will not be disappointed. Expect Flower Sun and Rain as well as The Silver Case to come from these people as well for DS. - Stick Close to Platinum Game news (aka, published by SEGA) - Mad World and Bayonetta may not entirely... |

Battlefield: Bad Company Review
By Razzuel 07-13-2008 11:20 PM
|
|
Not too many games offer a destructible environment. Bad Company, however, has started what I hope is a bunch of games offering destructible environments. Other games have done destructibility in some sense but most of the time it is a table breaking apart or in Crysis, the shacks are the only destructible buildings. Almost everything—save the internal structure of a building—is destructible.
There are plenty of weapons in the Bad Company that will blow a hole through a roof or straight through a wall. Eventually the only thing left is the foundation and internal structure. I commend DICE—the developer of Bad Company—for entering this territory. However I want them and other developers to push the destruction further. The destruction is scripted so the walls always explode in the same fashion. The next step should be complete non scripted destruction. This means that the building would never blow up the same way and you could make the building cave in if you took out some... |

Samus: Zero Suit

In my last blog post, I asked for sketch ideas, and several of you provided me with some great input! First up, Samus: Zero Suit edition! Thanks Riyonuk!
I haven't sketched in quite a while, so I'm tremendously rusty, but it was fun to deflower a new sketchbook and try out a new type of lead. Hopefully this is the first of many. Maybe I can stay motivated and continue to improve! |

Playing BF: Bad Company + Got Soul Calibur |
So I finally had time to play some games this weekend. I decided to start playing Battlefield: Bad Company (360). I got the Gold Edition which had some interesting changes when it comes to special or limited editions. It seems all the bonus content mentioned on the box is in the game disc itself. We usually get a second disc along with the normal game disc so this was a surprise. I thought I lost a disc or something. I like this idea because I won't need to open up another disc just to check out the special features. The map is pretty lame but I love the shiny gold slipcover, hehe. So far the game has been fun and rather challenging. Even on Normal, the enemy can really dish it out and kill you fairly quickly if you're surrounded. But the game is easy on the other hand cuz certain sections in a level allows you to respawn when you die just like in Bioshock. Considering... |

I gave blood yesterday... |
|
My only concern is where the blood is going. After all, Something Awful (a leader in vileness awareness for years) published this:
When I showed this to the people doing the bloodletting, they looked at me like I was a heretic. "There's no such thing as vampires" they said. What do they take me for? Do they think they can convince me that something I found on the internet was untrue? After persisting in my inquires, one of them finally quipped "If there were Vampires, this would be the best method for them to get the essence which they require. Otherwise, people get hurt." I'll never forget the way she looked at me; a chilling combination of resolve and terror passed between us. Soon came the prick of the needle and I felt the bag lying against my leg grow warm and heavy. As I left, the woman who had spoken to me earlier smiled. I saw... |

The Best "Who's That Pokemon" Video You'll See Today |
|
This is something so dumb...so stupid that it just happened to make me laugh my ass of every one of the 4 times I watched it.
If you watched the old Pokemon cartoon that came out 10 years ago you'll remember the "who's that Pokemon?" segments between commercials. For those of you who didn't watch the show, in that segment you would see a darkened outline of a Pokemon(usually one from the episode you were just watching) and you'd have to guess what Pokemon it was. Sounds simple right? Well not for this guy it seems. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YMtlA...eature=related Second Video(Thanks bigl523!!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewZnWJqGqRE - Swim |

My birthday.
By s0undwav3 07-13-2008 07:10 PM
|
|
Oh I forgot to post about the topic of my birthday, which was on Saturday 7/12. I had a great time, just hung out at home with my girl and we basically watched a bunch of movies, played some GTA IV and she loves to watch the story as it unfolds and takes over driving for me sometimes which is hilarious to watch.
I didn't ask for much but I was stunned to get the Canon SD 1000 Digital Camera. My old digital camera has been my good friend since 2001 and I will miss him dearly, but this is like his great great grandchild as my first one was the Canon SD 110. I love Canon Digital Camera's. Especially the metal casing. Well, now I'm older, and hopefully a bit wiser this year, and a little more frugal as things cost so much more now a days. |

Hellboy II
By s0undwav3 07-13-2008 07:06 PM
|
|
I would recommend a viewing of Hellboy II, and you don't even have to watch Hellboy I if you choose not to, because they have a very nice intro in the movie and even picks up things that were not in Hellboy I. If you can't afford to watch it, at least rent it or something when it comes out on DVD. It's a recommendation.
Another movie to watch, and bring the whole family, even little ones (kids) is Wall-E. I simply loved this movie and it's in my top 3 list for Pixar Movies - Toy Story, Monster Inc., and now Wall-E. But all in all, I love everything Pixar has released, even their Pixar Short Film collection (rent it, don't need to buy it). I was really amazed at how Pixar really had the whole human experience expressed with just two little robots. There was stuff in there that my wife and I just looked at each other after a scene and just started laughing uncontrollably. Just go watch it, so far it's my favorite movie of the year, and I thought Iron Man was going... |

Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode One - $10 on Steam

Looks like Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode One is $10 on Steam for the PC. Jostiq has a post on it as well. Looks like a weekend sale, and not a perminant drop.
I might pick this up now. This is what the price should have been from the get go in my opinion. |

XBlist desktop application - X-Box 360

Man, this is a neat little program to see your active friend list on your windows desktop. The program, XBList, gives you pop-ups when your freinds are playing on X-Box live. It tells you what they are playing, if there are joinable, etc. You can send them messages, via staight link to the Xbox web-site. You can even get notifications when you get a message. Real nice...
Its free and can be dowloaded at http://brh.numbera.com/software/xblist/ |
