Now on to the blog itself!.

Recommended by CAG's very own computer savy user, SOStrooper, for my PSU I chose the...

MiNuN's Monster: Brother MFC-795cw Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer

By MiNuN 08-24-2010 12:00 AM
I did not think too much on performance (Wanted to go with a laser printer, but something changed my mind, forgot what that was) when I chose my printer, but I am glad that I chose this one.

Some things to note are that it is pretty fast for a house-hold printer, it can print on multiple types of paper (even though that should be a given now), it is all-in-one (Scanner and fax machine), I can use it as a home-phone, it has USB ports, it accepts media cards, it is able to connect to a computer via a wireless connection, it has a touch-screen capabilities and much more.

Almost everything I listed are just bonuses, ha ha ha, because I only need it for mainly printing!

Pick Up: Blazblue: Continuum Shift

By MiNuN 08-23-2010 12:00 AM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsNtF...layer_embedded

Uh, yeah, I feel exactly the same way as him (Hilarious video btw, NSFW), but I just happen to not express it in the same way...

Yes! After a year since the first game in the series came out, the sequel is also released, Titled Blazblue: Continuum Shift.

The series has been constantly compared to Street Fighter 4 and still is since the first game, as to which is the better fighting game, for I, it is definitely Blazblue. But fan-boy aside, I have indeed picked up a copy for the Xbox 360!

MiNuN's Monster: Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speakers

By MiNuN 08-22-2010 12:00 AM
I was looking for a 7.1 P.C. Speaker Set, but apparently there are none unless I cross over to the home theatre side of things.

There is one set though...Creative's Gigaworks S750, but apparently it does not exist over here in the Americas.

So...the next thing was obviously a 5.1 P.C. Speaker Set, there were so many to choose from...but I obviously went for the best!

This thing is THX-Certified, can you imagine? The sound you hear in the theatres in your own room? Once I have this baby set up, it is going to be amazing!

If the 10-inch sub-woofer does not say enough for you on what power it can produces, then this paragraph (Click here for full article) definitely will...

MiNuN's Monster: Asus Xonar Essence STX & VIPRE Anti-Virus Premium

By MiNuN 08-20-2010 12:00 AM
Asus Xonar Essence STX Virtual 7.1 Channels is the sound card I have chosen for MiNuN's Monster.

Some fun facts about the STX sound card, in addition to my headset's voice-changing program, it seems with this card I will even have more options opened to me!

"-VoiceEX: produces vivid environmental reverberation for your voice in EAX games
-ChatEX: emulates different background environment effects when you chat online
-Magic Voice: changes your voice pitch to different types (Monster/Cartoon…) for disguising your real voice or just for fun in online chatting"

Oh boy, I am going to have fun chatting online, that is for sure !

As for my anti-virus, the reasons why I chose VIPRE Anti-Virus Premium can be found with this article...http://www.pcantivirusreviews.com/re...-Software.html

Well...since...the Anti-virus does not have any pictures...there is certainly...

MiNuN's Monster: Dell SP2309W 23" Flat Panel Monitor

By MiNuN 08-18-2010 12:00 AM
When I was looking for a monitor for MiNuN's Monster, my 2 goals were;
1. A monitor with the highest resolution before crossing in to HDTVs side of the world
2. 5ms or less
and 3. (I wanted the monitor to be 120hz as well, but it is just not possible currently with the 2 above goals)

With those 2 goals I found the SP1309W by Dell .

Some things on this monitor that makes me extremely happy aside from the 2 goals are; having touch sensitive buttons (after experiencing these kind of buttons with my HDTV and my first generation PS3, I realize I really like these kind of buttons), the monitor is very 'tilt-able', and the web camera & microphones are just bonuses.

Since the beginning, I have never liked Dell , especially for their pre-built computers, but while I was looking up monitors, I found out that Dell actually makes some respectable monitors.

MiNuN's Monster: RAZER Megasoma & RAZER Destructor

By MiNuN 08-16-2010 01:00 AM
For my gaming mouse pads I wanted the best of both worlds. I wanted both a soft and a hard mat.

For my soft mat I bought RAZER's Megasoma (technically, this is the best of both worlds alone, a soft mat with a hard surface). for my hard mat I bought RAZER's Destructor. Yes I spoil myself like that.

The Megasoma made from silicone has an awesome feature...it glows in the dark (Do a quick Google and you will see what I mean), while the Destructor on the other hand has gunmetal coating.

MiNuN's Monster: Microsoft SideWinder X8

By MiNuN 08-14-2010 12:00 AM
For MiNuN's Monster, I decided to buy Microsoft's SideWinder X8 mouse as my gaming mouse . The reason why I chose this mouse are;

- The BlueTrack Technology (This stuff is awesome, especially when I am using the mouse outside of the computer room)
- The mouse can be used wireless or wired (The wire connecting to the mouse for charging is very sleek looking as well)
- The battery is able to last long hours on a single-charge
- The Multiple programmable buttons
- A macro button on the mouse (With on-the-fly recording of course!)
- LCD (useless but it is cool =P)
- Changeable mouse pads (underneath the mouse) to adjust the glide
- Scroll is able to tilt right and left (I love this so much!)

Te-he, on with the pictures!

Front view of the box, did anybody noticed that is Master Chief with their first look? I only realized that after staring at the figure ha ha ha.

MiNuN's Monster: G19 & G35

By MiNuN 08-12-2010 12:00 AM
I am currently using the first generation Logitech G15 gaming keyboard (predecessor to the G19)...and I have to say, I F**KING LOVE IT (with all my heart ). No surprise, with the experience I have with the G15, when I searched up "best keyboards (2010)" that Logitech's G19 Gaming Keyboard was always among the top list of keyboards, no doubt I would get it either . I am looking forward to the colour LCD mini-screen on the keyboard, and I like the fact that the back-light for the keys are more than one colour (Even though I will still be sticking with blue, the original back-light colour =P). I do not know when Macro keys were first implemented, but I have to say, Logitech's G19 probably perfected it .

I like this motto/quote "So when you purchase the G19, you purchase the future. " ha ha ha.

The headset, Logitech's G35 Surround Sound Headset, is so very comfortable (to me !). I like the fact...

MiNuN's Monster: Lite-On Internal DVD Writer, Windows 7 Ultimate, & Sabrent Wireless

By MiNuN 08-10-2010 12:00 AM
Alright! Let's clear some stuff up!

A lot of people keep bringing up "Why the DVD Drive and not a Blu-ray Drive", well, the reason for that is because I have a PS3 in my arsenal, and as you all know, PS3 can play Blu-ray Discs . I do not want to spend extra money on a Blu-ray Drive when I can watch Blu-ray movies on my PS3 (Unless P.C. games start coming out on Blu-ray discs ).

Yes, that is right, Windows 7 ULTIMATE 64-bit, Nothing more, nothing less.

Okay, so, My first MiNuN's Monster blog, somebody said how I did not play a lot of online games because I opted for a wireless internet connection instead of a wired one, that is not true, I just prefer wireless (There is honestly no lost with using the wireless card I bought) .

On to the load of pictures!

MiNuN's Monster: OCZ Vertex 2 120GB & Western Digital RE4 2TB

By MiNuN 08-08-2010 12:00 AM
My plan at start was to have 2 2TB HDDs, totaling 4TB of free space (All the free space I need and more ). At first I refused to get an SSD because I absolutely hate the value for memory , especially compared to HDDs (I also hate their life-span compared to HDDs), yet people kept trying to convince me since I was shelling out so much cash on this project...that an SSD would be a great investment...alas, I removed one of two HDD from the list and I opted for an SSD .

SSDs are preferred because of their 'insane' speed compared to an HDD, now, I never experienced one first hand, but I can tell you what I already do like, the size and the weight of the SSD (Also the sleek look of it as well ). As for the speed, from what I read/heard (like 40 seconds to boot etc etc...) I will just have to imagine its performance in till I am able to boot up MiNuN's Monster .

To know that there are no moving parts = little heat in the SSD, makes me...

MiNuN's Monster: Patriot Gamer Series 3x4GB DDR3 & GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5970

By MiNuN 08-06-2010 12:00 AM
Updated by MiNuN 08-06-2010 12:22 AM
I actually wanted the Corsair Dominator Brand as my R.A.M., but it was so hard to find them in packs of 3 as 4GB per module , so I went to the next best thing...Patriot Gamer Series! I was able to buy the pack consisting of 3 4GB (12GB in total) per module of R.A.M =).

The reason why I specifically wanted 3 module sticks of R.A.M. is so that I could enable the triple channel kit. I also wanted each module stick to be 4GB so that I could max out each 240-pin slot on my MoBo (There are 6, times 4 = able to handle 24GB of R.A.M. in total ).

Also like the R.A.M, I originally wanted another brand for my Radeon HD 5970 GPU, I wanted the Diamond Radeon HD 5970, for what reason you might ask?...well just because there is a girl on the GPU (Difference between GPUs with same name are just the company brand and little tweaks), but as luck have it, yes luck, it seemed like they are never in stock (A lot of Radeon HD 5970s have been out...

MiNuN's Monster: The CPU, Fans, & the Heatsink

By MiNuN 08-04-2010 12:00 AM
Central Processing Unit = Intel Core i7 980X Gulftown Extreme Edition Processor
Fans = 2 x X Scythe GentleTyphoon 120mm case fan
Heatsink = Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B CPU cooler

Me: "Yeah, I got a pretty powerful CPU"
People: "Oh, what is it? Quad-core?......OH WTF! SIX-CORES?!"

Yup, I went that far, my CPU is the latest, Gulftown Hexa-core (Can not wait for that 100-cores CPU).

My fans on the other hand, that are not so pricey when compared to the CPU . I bought 2 of them for the purpose of pull-push effect of air-flow, they are attached to the heatsink. People said that these fans are very quiet for what they do, which is a plus in my books, I got this specific one on a recommendation.

As for my Heatsink, I got the Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B.

I do not have much to say about these parts except for the fact I bought them purely for their performance. ...

MiNuN's Monster: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD7 MotherBoard

By MiNuN 08-02-2010 01:00 AM
Updated by MiNuN 08-02-2010 03:19 AM

As for my MoBo I went with GIGABYTE's UD7 MoBo.

At first I originally wanted the ASUS P6X58D-Premium MoBo, but then I discovered GIGABYTE's UD9 MoBo, and of course, after finding out about the UD9, I absolutely wanted it as my MoBo. There is one problem with the UD9 though...it is a XL ATX MoBo, yes, not extended but extra large! With the measurements laid out on the internet, it supposedly will not fit inside of the Level-10, so I went with the next best thing, UD7.

Everything about the UD7 and UD9 is the exact same except for the size and the number of PCIe slots.

With the space I see inside of the Level-10, I feel like I could fit the UD9 MoBo but I am not going to risk trying...just going to go with the "facts" laid out.

Some things I would like to point out about this MoBo

MiNuN's Monster: Thermaltake Level-10

By MiNuN 07-31-2010 12:00 AM
When I decided to start MiNuN's Monster, the one part that shined the most, the one part that I really wanted above all others, the one part that I absolutely needed and was MiNuN's Monster starting point...

it was the Thermaltake Level-10 Chassis designed by BMW Group DesignworksUSA.

When I first laid my eyes on the Level-10 through the internet, I thought it was extremely beautiful, very stylish, well designed and of course, eye-catching. I thought to myself, when I start MiNuN's Monster, this will be the chassis I will build in.

The Level-10 is made from heavy aluminum, coloured black, when I say heavy, I mean more than 50 pounds alone. Level-10 has 2 fans where the MoBo resides, and 2 mini-fans where the HDD/SSD slots are. The best thing in my opinion about the Level-10 is that, as you have noticed (from outside of the case), Level-10 keep the parts in different area and made it noticeable as part of its design, there is the MoBo area,...

MiNuN's Monster: Unboxing the shipped boxes

Updated by MiNuN 07-29-2010 01:27 AM
Yes, the second entry in MiNuN's Monster will be all about unboxing the boxes, ha ha ha.

Shipping was fast, so fast I could not handle it when I first got it, ha ha ha, not only that, I only paid $35.99 for shipment of a bunch of items weighing nearly 100 pounds!

When I stacked the boxes together, I was so surprise on how many and how HUGE they were! The pictures I took does no justice on how big these boxes are.

And after I saw all the products within the boxes stacked, I got giddy every time I look at them, I had so many things! It was like Christmas all over again =P...I doubt there is a need to write much so here are the pictures!

P.S. I used a knife to open the boxes to make sure they are clean cuts
