Restoration of a Family (Home) Part 3
By joe2187 12-03-2010 01:47 PM

In the previous blogs, I explained the horrible condition of the house I live in, and what I was doing to fix it up. Now it's hard work doing almost everything myself, including all the new additions. But I'm willing to put in the hard work and money so everything looks beautiful and like a home should be...with a few luxuries for fun.
A month or more ago I made a video and threw up some pics of a fence I made, beyond the fence wasnt much better. However I have corrected this as you can see in both videos here. BEFORE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFd7H2HSF7I AFTER http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3vOwhf6lIM More to come later in the year...I have not yet begun to finish!! |

To continue this blog, I will be posting all the improvements I've made. Today I've built a gate in the driveway, to keep the dog in and give the backdoor to my room some well earned privacy.
![]() ![]() ![]() Also in this post are some pictures AND video of the improvements I've made thus far, the kitchen is done, however it's still covered in grit and dust from all the construction going on. The dining room is done, however it still needs molding in the cieling in walls, I'm tying to find the correct molding. The wood flooring is complete, however it needs to be filled in at the edges and some... |

Restoration of a family (Home) Part 1.

Listen... Life is fantastic, beautiful and tragic Plain... classic (When I refer to "Them" or "They" it means my brother and uncle) I'd like to think it's theraputic to write about all the high's and lows of the last couple of months, helps put my mind at ease at least. Don't really know where to begin. Lets see, I can truly say I'm proud of the progress we've made with the renovations to my grandma's old house. After my grandma died of colon cancer in 2001, the house that I've lived and grew up in my entire life, just didn't feel the same and my entire family felt the same way, some to a more to a life crippling extent. I'm thankful that my mother found a place for us to live on our own, even though it was hard for her, us and full of compromises and sacrifices. After my grandma's death, the house turned into a giant pit of self loathing, depression and pity and the lack of... |

KINGS - The Best show on Hulu. An Epic in the making.
By joe2187 07-06-2009 12:58 PM
|
![]() I have been watching this show from its very premier when it was still airing during television broadcast on NBC, but due to low ratings during it's timeslot on sunday night, broadcasting before "The Apprentice" was airing. It was removed and replaced by dateline, and moved over to a saturday timeslot, normally reserved for re-runs and older shows, where it expectedly got even less ratings than it did previously. However, NBC still felt that they had something in this Oddly complex melodramatic monarchical soap opera, that they graciously still air and produce, albeit now available on HULU's streaming media site. Season with new episodes every week, is currently available for free on their site until Sept 20th, which you can watch here. Kings is a compelling dramatic show, very loosely based on famous religious figures and stories. While |

Mature Games for Mature people: How mature can you go?
By joe2187 05-22-2009 05:35 PM
|
![]() Part of an Essay I wrot a while back with some recent changes. I wanted to talk about something that has been of big interest to me. I love video games and what they have to offer, they've experienced a tremendous amount of growth and evolution since it's conception and our tastes have matured with it. Games have surpassed being considered childish distractions and hobbies and have started branching out and developing more depth, some might even say offers a much more richer experience than watching a movie and maybe even a book. The games have changed because the technology has changed, and the more it changes the more likely it is that so will the public perception will change as well. But how far can you go? Last night on Gametrailers TV, they did an in depth interview with one of the makers of the upcoming Quantic Dream studios project Heavy... |

We all remember that year, even though It was such a long ass time ago and so many things have changed since then.
We still remember it because somewhere deep down inside of us is that rambling old man or woman who just wont shut the up about "Back in the day" you know who you are you spazzy old s, chewing people's ears off with stories about when you were younger and how shit was tougher back then, I hope you choke on your custard. ...Err...I'm going a bit off track.Anyway Here's my list of some of the "Best" shit that happened in the year Two-thousand eight. Best use of Tits in a non-pornographic movie: Cashback ![]() This Award was originally going to be about the Netflix Instant watch, but I figured this movie deserved it's own spotlight. This movie is not winning an award for best movie of 08 and that's not one of my categories,... |

The Obligatory "PS3 Vs. 360" blog. |
![]() For the past year and half I've had the pleasure of owning an Xbox 360. It was my first "Next Gen" console of the current 2 competing consoles on the market, seeing as how Nintendo developed Alzheimers and completely pissed their pants staring at a gamecube talking about the good ol' days. But now, I've had the good fortune to now be the proud owner of a Playstation 3. It's black, sleek and It worries me that one day it will assimalte all other electronics in the area and destroy me utterly. Now that I own all the current "Next" Gen consoles I can now give you my unecessary opinion on which console is better based on a cirtical analysis of Specs, technology and game library. TECHNICAL ANALYSIS: Does It turn on? PS3 - Yes. 360 - Yes. Does It make whirring whooshy noises? PS3 -... |

Zune Advertising - What were they thinking. NSFW
By joe2187 11-19-2008 01:00 AM

|
For a moment, let us admire the Zune, It's the underdog in the ever-expanding world of Apple's reign of handheld media devices. It's got all the basics you want and a few extras just for fun...
However, It's a poorly marketed device, the marketing it does get is very limited and usually leaves it to the consumers to look for it, other than shove it down their throat with catchy tunes and dancing shadow people from the 8th dimension... When Zune marketing does decide to make an AD, they want to make sure that you NEVER EVER forget what you've just watched, no matter how hard you try. and with that said I give you ZUNE: Paint. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6Mi0...-its-memorable |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MP260...mes-convention For those that dont know, Heavy Rain is the upcoming game project from developers Quantic Dream, makers of the successful Indigo Prophecy on the PS2 and Xbox. The upcoming game is a PS3 exclusive...So far... The game will feature a story that is interactively= "bendable", similarly to Indigo Prophecy. The tech demo released a few years ago, features some of the dramatic effects that will be seen in the upcoming game, making for a more mature themed game that relies heavily on plot and writing elements. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyubR...eature=related |

Street Fighter IV Arcade hands on With Special guest apperence Tekken 6 |
|
So, thanks to a tip from Markman's SDTEKKEN site I found out that at the arcade up the street Is the first US Arcade with SFIV.
I've rarely, if at all go to arcades. But I figured I'd make an exception see as it's only a few steps away from the college at which I was taking my placement test (which I find out that I dont need to take, seeing as I was already qualified for the class I wanted) Here's some (Crappy camera holding skills) video I made of SFIV characters and thier moves. to be fair, It looked alot better before Uploading it to Youtube, seemed to down the quality of the video a bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra66S...4ED88A&index=0 Also at the arcade, was Tekken 6...surprising me. I liked the previous Tekken Games, but 6 seemed like Tekken 5 with 3 extra characters....Meh. I have to say Playing SFIV was actually really very fun, It reminded me alot of SFII, but... |

Memories and cooking 4th of July dinner
By joe2187 07-05-2008 12:49 AM

|
Didn't really do much for the 4th, cept watch the Twilight Zone marathon and reminisce about all the good times we used to have when all the other members of the family got together and partied like maniacs, and when we were younger everything was shitload better than it was now.
When I was in middle school, 4th of July was a huge en deal in our neighborhood, the whole street was lit up and the whole block was filled with some of the most dangerous and awesomest of Illegal fireworks. used to take trips down to Tijuana a few weeks before just so we can get all the mortars and bricks of firecrackers, roman candles, M80's...hell my uncle once brought out a Tire made entirely out of firecrackers and rolled it down the middle of the street and lit it up, my ears were ringing for hours and the firecrackers didnt stop for a whole 2 hours. But enough about that, it's food time. Here I am searing some nice delicious sirloin steaks in chopped garlic, red wine and balsamic... |
