Yep, Paramore. I loved Misery Business, so i decided to get their album, Riot!. I absolutely love them now, they're a good mix of hard rock (lots of guitar solos, great guitar beats) and a woman singing (which is rare for good rock bands). I'm not sure why i haven't heard more about this band. Thanks to my love for Riot!, i got their other album too, All We Know is Falling, and it's just as good as their latest one. They have a very distinct style that lets you identify them almost immediately.

I've been getting into a lot of new music lately. Besides anime op/eds (shut up ), i've been trying to find more of the music i like, which is decently hard rock, but not Slipknot screaming their ing heads off. As sad as it is...

As much as i hate posting two blogs in a row (okay, so maybe i don't care), i had to tell everyone this. I just read that the four OVA's previously released only in japan, "The Premium OVA Collection features the "Seven Homunculi VS State Alchemists" short and three DVD shorts that shipped after the 2005 Fullmetal Alchemist movie: "Live Action," "Chibi Party," and "Kids"." This is awesome news to people like me who are obsessed with FMA, and it'll (not really) hold us over until season 2 season 3 finally comes stateside (no, i'm not watching the sub, leave me alone!). The ad for it is also pretty good, definitely worthy...

Okay, so i was looking for a new DS Lite now that the DSi came out, figuring they would drop in price. I saw one for $65 shipped, and thought, WOW, good deal. But who are we kidding this is CHEAPassgamer, I offered the guy $55 shipped.



As you can see, he accepted.

I was pretty shocked that i managed to get a DS Lite, in pretty decent condition (no extras though) for only $55 including shipping. It comes at a good time, too, because i have to start going on the treadmill for one hour every day, and I now have something to kill the time. I was wondering what kind of games you guys play when trying to kill time, and keep in mind i'm going to be walking the whole time, so don't tell me Guitar Hero: On Tour. It just won't work (multi-tasking like that on a treadmill never ends well, i'm not even sure playing a game will go smoothly). The games i have now...

After months of playing this game a couple minutes/hours at a time, i finally finished this 20-some hour game. It's basically a point-and-click adventure with some stylus actions that make the game very entertaining.



I'll admit, i've never played many point-and-click adventures, so maybe that was it, but i absolutely LOVED this game. The story was amazing and engaging (although everything was little TOO PERFECT at time), and overall i found the game highly addicting. It's the ONLY game i've actually managed to finish to the end on a handheld so far (other than GoW: CoO of course ).

The art style is very unique, and the game when characters talk basically looks like a moving drawing. It's very unique, and very cool in motion. As you walk around the hotel (which is big enough for a 20 hour game, but small enough so that you never get stuck for too long), the left screen...

I'll do a more in-depth blog on E3 later on. I'm just wondering how the gamers can justify trashing any of the conferences? I personally thought each one was amazing, from Microsoft's surprises and loads of games to Nintendo's casual+hardcore(+surprise Team Ninja Reveal).

Also, being slightly biased towards PS3, i absolutely LOVED Sony's conference, and anyone that didn't like it should quit gaming forever. Yeah. That's right.

Ok, today was finally the day that i went to pick-up inFamous at GameStop. I went there after work (called first to make sure they had it), and while I was at it pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 for a beautiful poster . Ok, good start, Anyway, of course as I was picking it up, i wanted my pre-order bonus card. It's the only reason i went with GS > $54 Amazon. But can they just give me one? No, that would be way too easy for GameStop employees ....

I'm not exactly sure why, but since i haven't been playing games lately (note: mostly because i haven't really played anything since Killzone 2, but am getting inFamous tomorrow), i've been thinking about what got me into it in the first place. Sure, GTAIII was the reason for my first console purchase (sad, yet true), but what about before that?

I was always in love with games, from Zelda to Mario to Yoshi games on the gameboy, to the crapload of games on my PC. But i'd have to say my favorite, most memorable game was (yes, even more than zelda) RollerCoaster Tycoon.



I definitely played an unhealthy amount of it back in the day, and every once in awhile i still find myself going back to it, and loving it. The game is so simple, and yet so rewarding and addicting. I'll go over some basics if you've never played it, or SHAME ON YOU have never even heard of it.

Yes, i am about to post two blogs in a row. I'm pretty bored, and they're for different audiences, so if you have a problem (like people apparently do when i posted the Metroid Prime Trilogy as a deal and they said it wasn't)- BITE ME.



Starting with Afro Samurai, i finished up the original 5 episodes today (on blu-ray i might add). It was a decent story with beautiful scenery and animation that left me extremely impressed. The story also starts getting good during the fourth and fifth episodes, although it was very slow to begin. I'm definitely glad i watched it, and can't wait to see the movie sequel (which i have, on blu-ray, but just haven't watched it yet). The dub is also amazing, especially with Samuel L. Jackson, and is probably better than th.e japanese dub (if there even is one). This is definitely an american-type anime, and i honestly don't know anything quite like it. I think even...

So much to say, where should i begin to get you guys to actually read this whole damn blog (i know 98% of you won't)...

BAND OF BROTHERS!



Meh, i'll start with Firefly . My friend let me borrow his DVD set, but i could only have it for two weeks. Me and my very busy schedule shut up only managed to watch the first episode (which is actually 1.5 hours by itself) and the next episode after it.

Well, i obviously wanted to watch the rest, so i bought it on eBay for $20 shipped. 3 weeks later, and nothing. Either the guy forgot to ship and didn't tell me, or it got "lost" (doubtful), but he ended up giving me a refund and that was that. I found it a couple days later for $18 shipped, and i just got it in the mail yesterday. So....no impressions, but i can't wait to watch it.

Transitioning to something Whedon-related (no, not Dollhouse,...

Wow is that a long title. I finally got this game on Thursday (after finishing up Persona 4 that same day), but it wasn't until today that i really got some quality hands-on time. I'll try to keep this mostly spoiler-free, and i've also only played the first 4 hours or so, so there's not too much i can spoil anyway. Read on for some (lengthy) initial impressions of yet another awesome Atlus JRPG:



The game definitely feels like a SMT game. It's set in Japan, and the cutscene you see when you load the game is an awesome mix of sort-of-CGI and PS2 sort-of-cel-shaded graphics that's both hard-to-describe and pretty damn awesome.

One thing you might want to know is that no characters in the game speak (as in a voice). Ever. The entire story is told through word-less cutscenes and word boxes. It bothers me a little, but the way the game is made, you won't miss...

Old RPG's (from when i started, not by release):

Valkyria Chronicles- Finished. Still need to play the Selvaria mission pack, but the game itself is over.

Persona 4- Made it over 60 hours in, to the second-to-last boss (or last depending on how you play it), but couldn't move on. I decided to just watch the rest on youtube, and even then it was an amazing experience. This truly is one of the best games ever created.

Final Fantasy X- I made it up to a certain part of the game, but it got too difficult and i couldn't go on. Nobody told me that skipping battles early on would lead to the game being impossible x.X. Anyway, i made it by myself to Part 70/87 of the Video Walkthrough on youtube, so i'll probably watch the rest of it there, and be done with it.

Lost Odyssey- I'm on the final dungeon, and this game is amazing, so i refuse...

I finally finished Black Lagoon, and i wasn't expecting a big final ending considering there's going to be a third season (coming to Japan August 2009, wonder how long it'll take to get localized...), but the ending was still very good, and the series could've ended there if they wanted to do so, which I like. Also, since people seemed interested in it, packaging especially, i thought i'd take some quick pics of both seasons to show you guys just how beautiful it really is.

Well, starting with casual games, i finally bought Plants vs. Zombies based on the original video which is awesome, and the amazing reviews from media and CAGs alike. I also tried the Peggle demo, since i was into PopCap at the moment and i've never played Peggle before. I see why everyone loves it though, it's a hell of a lot of fun, i'll probably buy the full version eventually. Anyway, back to PvZ, I'll admit, it's true, the game is very lovable, a little too easy, but overall a lot of fun. I stopped at 1-9 because....*subtle transition*

Well, i initially got three, with the intention of keeping one for myself, and selling the other two for a little more on eBay.

As it turns out, nobody gives a about them on eBay, and so i'm of course coming back to the people i probably screwed over in the first place. Serves me right i guess =/.

Anyway, i have one, possibly two of these that i have no need for, and i was wondering if anyone was interested in them. I would like overall to just get my money back, and not take a loss from this whole thing (which includes paypal fees and shipping). It was initially $150, but if anyone makes it worth my while, i will gladly do the deal. I decided to keep playing Valkyria Chronicles, and the light is finally in sight. Honestly, when i was playing chapter 10, i swore i was never going to be able to finish this game. And, proving that even I can be wrong sometimes, i'm getting close to the end.



I'm currently on chapter 17 (i told you, it takes me two times to beat most missions ), and the story is in full force. I don't want to go into details, but the cutscenes are finally amazing after the end of the chapters, and the story has become very engaging. I care about the characters, and I can't wait to see how it all ends.

There are also a lot more side-missons than i thought there were, so i spent a good chuck of the day finishing all of those up, and although Flowers of the Battlefield was really hard, i somehow managed to...
