My trophies for the end of Feb-March |
|
Relatively decent progress in the last month, though I have had a bunch of games that I just have not had the desire to go back to play. I do sort of consider myself a trophy enthusiast, but lately I've been more picky about games. And I refuse to stoop so low as to buy/borrow super easy platinum games, such as Disney games. My cousin owns Up, which is a 4-6hr plat. I was at his house, but luckily I was able to turn my nose up at that and not borrow it. I'm so proud of myself - whenever I see people with trophies like those in their collection, that's when you know they'll do anything for trophies. It's like crack addiction at that point.
Also, I haven't even turned on my 360 in the last few months. So without further ado: Recent accomplishments: Dead Space Ignition (PSN) Yeah, ok, this is a filler. I got this game for free with the preorder of DS2, but got swamped with other things to play, so I never went back to it. It's an... |

My recent-ish trophies/achievements |
|
I say trophies/achievements, but I've barely touched my 360 in the last few months. I beat Halo Reach, but it was so anger-inducing that I'll never go back to it. And I don't have Gold anyway, so the point is moot. So, everything I've gotten has been PS3 related.
Sengoku Basara Samurai Heroes (plat) Yeah, yeah, I got this back in October. And then I accomplished nothing between then and Feb. This game is awesome. You really have to have played Sengoku Basara 1/2 on the PS2 (they never came to the US though) to fully enjoy it. It does kind of suck that they changed Ieyasu's character completely, but it turns out I really like Liam O'Brian's voice, so it's not so bad. Anyway, it's really just another Dynasty Warriors type game, but the characters are really varied, the action is good, and overall just feels more fun. The trophies are a bit droll, and you'll end up with about 100 hrs for the plat. It's not really a grind, but as with any game... |

My plats/1000 for Sept (some real doozies this month) |
|
I know, September isn't over, but I won't be completing anything for a while anyway, so why not. I'm just starting Castle Crashers, which looks fun, but a really tough 100% to get. We'll see.
I thought I'd start with a note about my trophy addiction. As much as I like trophies/achievements, I won't go out of my way to get them: I will not buy games solely for them (rare exception was sonic's ugc because I got a good deal, and madden 09 just because my friend left me hanging), and I will not play games that I hate just for easy points (the only exception so far is avatar tbe because I had a gamefly trial). I WILL grind, but only if I know the plat/1000 is in reach - for example, 3DDGH I'm holding off on because of the accursed minigames that are the bane of my existence. Basically, I only aim for plat/1000 in the games I own and like, and since I don't buy that many games, my totals aren't really that high. With that said, on to the list! Dante's Inferno (360)... |

Finished up a lot of games in the last 3 weeks, somehow |
|
Kind of soon since my last blog entry, but I tore through some games recently. My other brother came back from college and stayed with me for a few days, and did some co-op trophies/achievements with me, and then I had a couple easier games in my backlog.
For what it's worth, my current stats: GT - Akari666, gamerscore 28605 PSN - AkariKamigishi, 15 plats, lvl 13, 1073 trophies overall So, games I finished up: ** Blazblue Continuum Shift (PS3) ** Yeah, I didn't think I'd get this one, but I managed to clear the challenges, and then cheated for the online trophies. It turns out that if you have 2 people with turbo controllers, you can leave it running in player matches (a few nights of this) and rack up points. It's dishonorable, but more a time saver than anything else - the challenges are truly the hardest trophy in this game. No advice on this one, if you're good at the BB fighting system, you should be able to get... |

My latest 1000s/plats for the 0 people who care |
|
Before I start, I have to say that last month sometime, my xbox red-ringed on me. Luckily it was still within the 3 year warranty period, so I was able to send it to MS for fixing. I got it back 3 weeks later with a free month of XBL Gold... which I probably won't use. I'll figure out what to do with it later.
Anyway, my brother was back for most of July and was on my PS3 playing SSF4 most of the time, but I didn't mind because I had nothing really big to play. Here's what I managed to finish in the last 2 months though (I have to say 2 because my xbox was gone for a month practically): **Fight Night Round 3 (360)** Nothing to say here. Borrowed it from a friend, got the 1000 in a day. Cheat with illegal blows and you almost can't lose. Another sports game that I would never get on my own. Too bad the PS3 version has no trophies, or it'd be another easy plat. **Splinter Cell Conviction + Insurgence Pack DLC (360)** I normally wouldn't... |

Latest game conquests (1000/plat) - Nothing impressive, but I did finish Alan Wake |
|
It's been a slow few months of gaming for me. Mostly because I was really addicted to White Knight Chronicles... Anyway, I managed to complete some other games in the last month, so here's my list.
**Alan Wake (360)** ![]() Finished in 5 days I guess. I have to start with the fact that I normally can NOT play survival horror games on my own. I can't stand it when things jump out at me. If the environment is too built for surprises, I basically will be too afraid to progress at all. That being said, Alan Wake wasn't really scary, and I was pretty much fine to play this game through, multiple times. Rundown of achievements:

My 1000gs/platinum trophy rundown for January, with minireviews |
|
January was a good month for achievements and trophies for me. I'm generally the type who will sit down with 1 game until it's done, rather than start 5+ games simultaneously (As far as I care to take it, at least. Stuff like the 100hrs of gameplay achievement in RFA I will never, ever get). I also don't get THAT many games because I'm pretty picky about what I want to play. So, I think I did pretty well for myself this month. Here's what I accomplished:
Borderlands (PS3) Platinum? Yes Time spent? About 3 days (co-op with my brother, over new years eve and a few days after), but we played a LOT those days Difficulty? Very easy, not too tedious Like/dislike? Loved it Worth buying/keeping? Yes/I sold my copy because my brother has one, but otherwise sure Trophy rundown/review (where applicable): ... |
