Give your respects to the production team who did this, and nothing but net.

Blip Festival 09: I've been waiting years for this ^_^

By RelentlessRolento 12-11-2009 03:03 AM

I just ordered my tickets. Can't wait. Been waiting years to go and finally college work and vacation time have aligned perfectly.

Chiptunes is part of my heart and soul. In fact I've actually worked with one of the musicians that's playing this year and will be talking to the others for possible collaborative work.

Hit up this thread or comment here if you wanna meet up!

Fighter Thread Movie: Credits Finished! Don't Miss or Suck Awesomely!

By RelentlessRolento 04-04-2009 04:56 PM
Section of the film is DONE!!!!!! Watch and post impressions please!

This is just the ending credits for the film without names (saving names for last) so no story so far... please follow the link and watch the HD version since it comes out nicer... WAY nicer!

Note I watched this on an HDTV and it looks better than I expected.

Story parts will be filmed starting Monday.

I'll be using some of my footage to pull in some more musicians since so far I have two working with me on the film and I'd like to pull in more.

Fighter Thread Movie: First Official Footage!!!! Watch and Groin!

By RelentlessRolento 03-27-2009 07:57 PM
Here's a preview of a film sequence I'm working on. It still needs some missing effects and fixes, but overall it's being worked on:

(follow link to play it in HQ... also play this loud on good speakers...)

Everything in the video was made by me other than the acting or music. I'm horible with costume making, but I can say I'm proud of what I was able to do for this film.

The red suited person (ReRo) is me in the suit. The black costume (MarkMan) is my friend. The crotch shot is not real entirely. My friend threw some "props" in there to enhance his groin...

This section will be the end credits for the film. My workflow is backwards due to academic reasons, and trying to kill two birds with one stone.

I'm working with the musician Breakbeat Heartbeat, a UK chiptunes Musician, who made the song. He will have alot of his work featured in the film. I've also possibly got another guy

Fighter Thread Movie: Costume Design Day 1 and Other Notes

By RelentlessRolento 02-02-2009 10:42 PM
If you haven't read about this film production already be sure to check out here for info

Here's a very rough moc-up for what I can make realistically of a main hero costume for the soon to be awesome FGT movie:

The face is going to be a bandana w/ a scarf on neck. Lycra body suit, along with lycra gloves and boots with gold rimming. It's a slight mix of designs based off of Red Sentai/Ranger and Tekkaman as well as random fun

I still have yet to decide on the weapon which is currently being decided on.

Most likely the main character will be called Reroh (spelling undecided), with his trusty friend Mark Man to help out.

Mark Man's costume will be in similar style but black with a different facial design that I currently need to finish up.

If I can find enough cardboard this week I'll also be building one of the enemies:

Fighter Thread Movie is Officially a Go!

The Fighter Thread Green Screen Movie is Officially Green Lit!!!!
( @ double green)

As some of you know, I have an Ultraman/Power Rangers style green screen film currently in the planning stages for a film project at my college. It's an entirely chiptune based film that will take time to get done.

So far Markman and JEKKI are confirmed characters.

I'm tossing around the idea of having the main hero named Rero, or something that sounds the same and is spelled differently. Also possibly considering one of his weapons to be silver drum sticks.

MarkMan is probably going to be the coolest character in the film from where production stands so far. Black full body costume, still have yet to decide on face mask design and weapon. He's the anti-hero.

JEKKI is going to be the most fun to play as, due to how the costume is going to be built.

Art Basel Miami - Day 2 - Rejection Turnaround and Vanilla Vomit

By RelentlessRolento 12-05-2008 08:44 PM
Updated by RelentlessRolento 12-06-2008 12:40 AM

One of the works at Art Basel... and yes, that's entirely sewn by hand, a fave of mine from one of the huge tents in the show

Continuing from my last blog post (read up if you want the whole gist) It has become Day 2 of Miami Art Basel for me, one of the world's largest art community happenings in the world.

I worked the day with the fine guys/art collective/toy designers/etc known as Friends With You whom I'm interning for and am good friends with. I ran the entire booth (located in the gargantuan Scope tent housing hundreds of global artists... met alot of cute europeans, russians, and asians) through the day covering watching people, selling product, and just helping. It was roughly a 9 hour day of standing but worth it since I would bump into a large portion of my friends during the day while even working with many of my friends as well. Here's pics of where

Art Basel Miami - Day 1 - Rejected and Tired of Being Single

By RelentlessRolento 12-04-2008 04:20 AM

So the insanity of Miami Art Basel 2008 has begun...

To explain it easy for you guys here: It's like what E3 was for gaming (back when it was huge) but even bigger... I mean instead of a single place, it's an entire city focusing on artwork from the entire world. People from all parts of the world come to look, buy, sell, or be art. It's also the biggest excuse in the world for rich people to get drunk... don't ask.

Tonight me and two friends went randomly to a few shows... most of it is crap for the night but tomorrow will be better (I'm working in an entirely inflatable funhouse installation tomorrow/today... for 12 hours >_<).

We bumped into a large group of girls we knew from school who were beyond drunk... I mean, drunk like this:

(not actual girl... just reference)

My LBP Street Fighter Level in Action and Capcom Sends Me Kisses

By RelentlessRolento 11-19-2008 01:40 AM
Updated by RelentlessRolento 11-19-2008 01:52 AM

As a few of you have asked, I uploaded a video finally of my Street Fighter level in Little Big Planet

Also, apparently Capcom took notice and once again wants a good look at my stuff (the Street Fighter level specifically). As much as I have apparently hurt them for releasing undercover reports I have also hopefully helped them to make amends.

Keep it up and down Capcom, now make me a new Captain Commando game plz!

New Video Project in the Werks

By RelentlessRolento 11-12-2008 09:32 AM
Updated by RelentlessRolento 11-12-2008 10:31 AM
I'm working on a new video... this time more fun. I'm actually working with a chiptune artist this time which is really nice (Disasterpeace). I'm hoping to do more work for some chiptune labels down the line since I really like that idea in some form. Music videos are super time consuming when you have to make all the content, then animate it, then edit it.

here's a rough version of a DVD cover I made for submission using some graphics from the video:

Illustrator Tutorials... and What Makes 10 Min

By RelentlessRolento 10-03-2008 09:38 AM
I've been reading up on Illustrator Tutorials (http://www.vectortuts.com) and started having fun with some brushes... this took me 10 min to do:

I'm still trying to find a way to make it non transparent, but I'm fine with it.

I'll be working on some new stuff once I get some tutorials out of the way

Also, a heads up: at the end of November I'll be opening a gallery with some friends of mine with a show. It's more of a party/show that'll be fun. I'm working on an animation currently for it

Bionic Commando Rearmed Still Grabs at My Blood

By RelentlessRolento 09-05-2008 06:45 PM
not sure if I'm finished with this, but I wanted to do something since I love Spencer as a character:

http://www.majhost.com/gallery/SamHi...dom/bcrrrr.png

metaly made a good point that Super Joe is missing... my favorite character from the game (... and Commandos). I may or may not add him.

As for an update on people who want prints of what I do, I'm currently working on setting up an outlet website that I can print and sell (hey, I can't always starve) my work to whoever is interested. As soon as I figure out everything, note that all CAGs will get a good special discount and/or I can do regular CAG game trading for some of my prints.

Stay tuned.

P.S. Don't forget if anyone wants copies of certain stand alone elements from my works (ie. a Koopa, a Goomba, Sonic, etc.) just ask and I can do so
