Weel it's that time again and I am still losing weight.
My goal was to smash the 230 barrier and this week I ended up at 229.75 pounds! That is 30 pounds since this contest began! I have lost 11.55% of my starting weight. Comfortably in first place by a couple points. My biggest rival gained 5 pounds and is at 1.333%. Sweet isn't it? Still got a month left and I am going into the home stretch. The road is open wide and I just have to take advantage of it. I'm doing well and will continue my quest to victory. Thanks for all the support last week. I only have a little while left until the contest is over and I am on my pace still. Can't wait to maintain my weight instead of lose it. Thanks and see you next week! |

Another day late update...
Well guys I had a successful week this week. Lost 3 more pounds I think. Can't remember if it was 3 or 3.5. My body weight is now 232.25 pounds! I have lost 10.58% of my body weight! I am almost to the last hole in my belt!!!! I gotta find a before and after picture. I'll have to find the most recent pic of me before and now. It's a big change. My clothes are starting to hang off of me. I am cruising along in first place. opened the gap up this week. Now more than 1% separates me and the next guy. The third guy is right under 9% and my rival refused to weigh in this week. Probably still at his 3% I am doing good guys, really craving some Little Richard's BBQ (Yadkinville, NC) Really great food and it is dirt cheap. best BBQ I have had ever. Stopped in because I didn't take the Mt. Airy exit at Winston-Salem last year and had to get gas. Saw a BBQ place and had to go, instead of Bojangles.... |

Week 6 Weigh In, Halfway There!

Hey guys, sorry i didn't post this last night I got caught up in playing some DDO and fell asleep before I posted.
This week wasn't as good as the last. Only lost 1.5 lbs. That still makes the total 25.25 lbs. Still averaging about 5 lbs. a week, which is way over my goal. Anyways I have 9.34% and still in first place. The next guy is at 8.99% and the next closest is hovering around 7%. I ate some Mexican food Tuesday for lunch, because I felt I needed a good meal so I could get a small taste of the victory. I plan on getting back to the 3-4 lb range this week. Eating better and trying to be more active. i think the thing that hurt me last week was that I had 5 days off and it was nasty outside so I really didn't do much besides play some games and went shopping. I haven't hit the wall yet, my friends, I am getting back on track because I AM GOING TO WIN THIS CONTEST! A lot of people at work... |

Week 5 Weight In!

Well guys, I've been waiting to write this for a week.
I lost a little bit more weight, but that's not the big deal. The big deal is I AM IN FIRST PLACE!!! I (somehow) lost 5 more pounds this week, to get me down to a smooth 237, from the initial 259.75 (22.75 lbs. total by the way). So by doing that I increased my total percentage of lost weight to 8.76% I was 0.08% out of the lead last week and rocketed up the chart this week to take a 0.35% lead. Can I get a HELL YEAH!? I honestly never though I would lose that much this week. I was aiming for 3 pounds, but I guess I got lucky. Went to my girlfriends place last weekend and got her to partially eat my plan. Pork chops and spinach one night, boiled eggs for breakfast, broiled chicken with grilled peppers and onions the next night. Peppers are a miracle food, I love them ALL! Having some greens and reds tomorrow night as well. Not sure of the meat yet, but there will be peppers.... |

Week 4 Weigh In!

Well everyone, I keep doing it.
This week I lost 4 more pounds! I was pretty shocked as I figured I'd have only lost 1 or 2. That brings me to 242 lbs., from a start of 259.75!!! I haven't been under 245 for about 3 or 4 years. So I am pretty happy. 215-220 is my goal and it is realistically within reach. I can't wait to see if I can do it. A 6.83% percentage of initial body weight lost. BUT there is still one guy ahead of me. He currently is carrying a 6.91%. So I am 0.08% behind him!!! he guy behind me is at roughly 5.25% and the next one after him is around 3% So I am in good shape if I stumble, but not planning on it at all. I'm making the move next week to first place. Anyways, some drama came from the fun as well. There is a guy who crash diets and dehydrates himself to try and win every year. He's seriously 300 pounds. A lot of muscle, but a big belly too. I saw him as my main competition and he's... |

First Jog of the Year
By burritoman 01-23-2010 01:45 AM

Well guys and girls, I did it.
I went on my first walk/jog this afternoon after work. Didn't have way too many layers on either, went with a zippered sweatshirt, workout pants, gloves, and toboggan hat. It felt good to get out there. Only went about 2 miles, give or take, so I could save energy for tomorrow. Surprisingly my body felt stronger than it did the last time I went, which was probably 8 months ago. I was in a great routine, then my grandfather passed away, and I stopped exercising and started eating. Maybe it's being lighter than i was before, or maybe it was just my drive and determination. Who knows. I plan on working up until I can run the entire first mile, and walk the second. Then build up running more and more until I can run the entire 5k. I plan on running 3-4 days a week and biking one as well, throw a couple rest days in there and I might have a good workout plan started. Going to try hard to keep... |

Alright guys I am back.
I started at 259.75 lbs. Last week I lost 8.25 lbs. This week I added 5.5 MORE TO THE TOTAL!!! My 2 week total is 13.75 lbs.!!!!! Still in 2nd place in the contest at 5.29%. the leader had 5.76%, and I cut his lead from a whole point to just under half. I think I can be in the lead next week. Not sure, but I am going to try like hell! I am shocked that by eating less and less junk food that I have honestly lost 5.29% of my body weight. My goal was 4 lbs. per week, and I am over a week ahead of the schedule. I wish I would have taken a before picture. I am going to look and try to find the most recent pictures of myelf. I have lost a whole belt size!!! In 2 weeks of dieting!!! We had our company after-holiday party last weekend and I won a door prize--a George Foreman Grill!! Used it 3 days in a row and I love it. Drains the crap off my meats and cooks... |

Well guys, anyone who has seen my blog for the past couple weeks knows I am in a weight loss challenge at work.
I am totally pumped for this week's weigh-in!!! I am down almost a whole belt size, even after losing 8lbs. last week. It is starting to get a lot less shitty outside and I can get out and start triathlon training!!! I am just excited because I think I could vault into first place this week. I'm not expecting 8 lbs again, but maybe 4 or 5 realistically. Dammit for buying 3 pairs of size 40 jeans and several XXL shirts over the past 3 months!!! Wish me luck guys, the update will be tomorrow evening/night. |

Week 2 Weigh In!

Thanks for your support guys.
My official weight last week (initial weigh in) was: 259.75 lbs. This week I lost 8.25 lbs to be at 251.5 lbs! (and I forgot to take my keys and phone and stuff out of my pockets!!!)For the contest at work i am in 2nd place with 3.18% lost! The top guy is right at 4, and no one else is over 2.5%. I have no clue how I've done it. I've altered my eating habits a lot (eating less and no snacking), been drinking more water. I can't do this every week, but it did feel good to get a big boost at the start. For lunch I've been taking a salad, usually with some feta cheese and caesar dressing (not too much cheese or dressing). I'm usually hungry right after work, so I've been eating about 1-2 oz of cheese to keep me good until dinner around 6. For dinner I've been eating a meat (chicken, or steak usually) with a green vegetable like brocolli or spinach. No huge portions or pizza like... |

Weight Loss Journal 2010
By burritoman 01-06-2010 12:16 AM

So it's that time of year again. At work every year we play a version of "The Biggest Loser" with a cash prize at the end. $25 to play for 12 weeks. Today was the first day.
I weighed in at 260 lbs. Going from my old job where I was on my feet and moving stuff for 8 hours a day to an office job has put about 20 on me. However, I'm using this as an opportunity to get below that level. As soon as the weather breaks a little bit (no more snow basically) I plan on getting back on my bike and walking/jogging again, in addition to doing Tae Bo (which I think is a good workout when you can't get out). It's just too sloppy outside now to do that. In the meantime I've decided to change my eating habits to get rid of things like chips and candy, eat more lean meats and salads, and less empty calories and carbs. I'm also going to start training for a triathlon in August. I hooked up with a couple of older guys who want to do it, but they wanted... |

Review: Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed
By burritoman 03-15-2009 10:47 PM

|
A little while ago I had $17 in my pocket and scanned the clearance bin at Circuit City and found this gem--Destroy All Humans: Big Willy Unleashed.
I've never played any of the previous games in the series, but knew it was a pretty cool idea--a sandbox style game where you're an alien doing alien things. I was only half right. The story is pretty much this--you are Crypto and your partner Pox has started a chain of restaurants that uses human meat for their hot dogs and a guy named Col. Cluckin knows the secret and is trying to shut you down. So the game takes place in a few different areas in the 1970's and you get to run around, use your saucer or use the "Big Willy" mech for destruction. General chaos starts when someone sees you because they run away screaming and the police/army comes after you pretty quick. You gotta snatch a body and hypnotize people to get away. The saucer has a cloaking device and Big Willy just has to deal... |
