I recently picked up a nyko raven controller on sale at newegg for $20. I got it in the mail today and thought I would share my first impressions. The controller looks super high quality and feels very good in my hand. Playing killzone 3 demo aiming seemed slightly more difficult than the standard dualshock 3 sticks because I would sometimes move the cursor past the guy I was aiming at too quickly. If you take your time and aim it shouldn't be too big of a deal. The only other complaint I have is that l1 and r1 seem a little flat compared to the 360 bumbers. For $20 I really don't think you can find a better 3rd party controller than this. It's worth a shot if you prefer the 360 controller but prefer gaming on your ps3.

I have spring break 2-3 weeks after it's released. I have it preordered on amazon but was thinking of cancelling it and picking it up around spring break. I'm allowed a week vacation from my part time job and am thinking of taking it then to maximize the break. What do you think keep the preorder for preorder dlc or wait for a possible price drop between release and spring break?

I have a ps3 slim with my own harddrive installed. I don't plan on pirating games. It looks simple enough to do and was wondering if it would be worth it? Anyone do it with theirs?

I've been following hockey for about about 8 years now. I started going to games in middle school when I read in the student handbook that the Blackhawks offered $8 tickets with student id. After my first game I was hooked. Even if they sucked it was still way more entertaining than baseball or basketball for me. Now that they won the Stanley Cup I can't afford to go to games anymore even if I could find tickets. It's just not the same anymore. Hockey is one of those sports that it's way better in person.That and I feel like I have nothing to look forward to because they can only go downhill from here. Anyone else ever feel a disconnect with a favorite team after they won a championship?

I live in Indiana. I have never been charged tax on anything on amazon or downloadable content. The other day I go and was about to buy the new pacman and it says $10.70. Sales Tax in IN is 7% if you didn't know. Is this something new?

I heard that devolpers are making a margin of around $7 for the sale of a $60 game after everyone else get's their cut. So who benefits when a game is sold for $40 or less? Been buying a bunch of games lately because of sales. My question is if I buy Bayonetta for $10 certainly there is not profit on that right?

If a retailer really wanted to separate themselves from the crowd they would have amazing deals all year round to bring you into the store where you would buy other stuff. But since everyone does it on the same day, then the retailer is just the same as everyone else. Also, if it takes you 11 months to make your first profit of the year your business model isn't too good. So why wait until black friday to have good sales? If you wanted to optimize your sales you would do it a week or so before everyone else

I made a blog post talking about how I would hold off on Black Ops but I'm serioulsy considering picking it up before work today. I have $27 of gamestop credit that I don't know what to do with. I traded in a game that I was gonna use to buy ps move with when they had that $80 deal but the order never went through for some reason. Gamestop.com=FAIL. Anyway I rarely ever go into gamestop anymore and usually get my games off amazon because of free 2 day shipping. So if I can get Black Ops for $about $35 after tax should I?

Why oh why do college professors insist on making their students get up in front of the class, and teach the class what they are paid to teach? First of all most students are extremely nervous and end up reciting what is on the slides verbatim. Most people in the audience don't care and end up tuning them out. After it's over nobody but the people who did the research for the presentation actually learned anything. The professor makes us get all nervous and for what? So that they can sit on their ass while someone else does the teaching? The college pays your salary for you to teach not us. Sorry just had to rant. I have to give a presentation tommorow and am super nervous. I know nobody in the audience cares if I up but for some reason I'm super nervous. Even thought of sneaking vodka in a water bottle but I can barely swallow the stuff.

It doesn't make sense to me why we even have an Adults Only rating for video games. I mean if you have to be 17 to buy an M rating game and 18 to buy an AO game why not just bump up the age of an M game to be 18 and do away with the AO rating? I mean it's only 1 year difference. Where you really any more mature at 18 then you where at 17?

I've played the same game twice already it's called Modern Warfare 1 and 2. I know I would play it pretty much non stop for the first month and then move on to something else when the new maps come out. I'm not going to reward activision for annualizing a franchise that really just needs the mp to be tweaked a little in patches and it would be perfect. Anyone else going to be skipping this release?

Seriously it's like whoever created it had no rhyme or reason for setting it up the way he did. 32 degrees freezing and 212 for boiling? where in the world did the creators come up with the numbers? The metric system is much easier to figure out with everything in multiples of 10. I am going to start homebrewing soon and you need good temperature control. It's much easier to tell when the thermometer reaches 100 degrees Celsius then guessing if it's at 212 Fahrenheit. Isn't it time we killed off this antiquated system of measurement?

I have my xbox 360 hooked up to my tv via hdmi. But I bought a pair of turtle beach x11s and I need a way to hook them up. The way they hook up is that they have a red and white audio cable that connects to the back of the tv and the cables from your 360 piggyback onto that. But the thing is I can't use both hdmi and composite cables because av connector blocks the hdmi port when in use. I tried a generic 360 vga cable from ebay but the color was washed out. I don't want to spend almost the price i paid for the headset on a new vga cable from Microsoft. Maybe I can find one used for $10 at gamestop. So what do you think would have a better picture? VGA or Component? Or is there some better option i'm overlooking?

Was thinking of getting playstation eye for skype chat since my usb headset is broken. It's $33 right now with free shipping on amazon. If i buy the bundle for $100 I will get the move, ps eye, and a game. if i buy it separately it will cost me $123. what do you guys think?

I signed up for Playstation + the week of release. Now that it's been out awhile I thought I would share my opinions. So far i've gotten 8 free games and 2 episodes of Quore. Of those games so far a few have been totally awesome like Critter Crunch and Age of Zombies. I haven't played the 3 that I just got this week yet. Those 3 games that I got this week were $20 combines. So all in all I feel like i've gotten around $40 worth of content so far. Now I'm mad though since I saw a 2 year plan for $45 on the playstation store right now but don't know if that's only for current ps+ subscribers. So if like getting new games for free every 2 weeks I feel like you will definitely get your moneys worth

I had plans tonight to sit at home and watch the Chicago Fire game. But I just find out that the end of the game will most likely be cut off just because the White Sox game got rained out last night and end of the soccer game will be on a channel I don't get. What kind of screwed up country do we live in when more people would rather watch a game that is only exciting for probably half hour the entire game then "the beautiful game"?

Just curious. I had to help my brother move his stuff down to IU in Bloomington today and it was hell. I personally opted to stay home for college and am glad I did. I personally opted to go to a local subsidary of a major college closer to Chicago. Free rent, free food (mostly) and I only have to pay for gas and car bills. The rest of my paycheck is mine to spend however I want. I hope to have a good amount in savings when I graduate at the end of the year. Anyone else do this and what are your experiences?

I really want Nba Jam but I'm not going to buy nba elite just to get a gimped version. I would kill for a hd version with online play so I could play with my brother like the old days. Does the wii version even have online? He has a wii might have to buy one just so I can play full version of this game. But sadly I think online would be more important to me than full version. I'm definitely not double dipping. Screw you EA you are really pissing me off with this dick move
