I like distribution, but I'm not about to drop the same price on a download as a disc. 1st off if I spend $60 on a download I am stuck with that game forever. I like buying physical games knowing that once I beat them I can get probably $30 back on ebay. But, I do like not having to swap out discs all the time and the shorter load times on ps3. I would probably be willin to switch entirely digital if made the games $40-45 on launch. How about you guys?

Everybody seems to offer some piece of dlc for preordering a game. More often than not I don't even bother redeeming the codes. Is it just me or is it not worth promising $60 on day 1 just for a extra skin or something?

I just realized that while I keep buying Rockstar games that I really find their games kind of boring. I bought Red Dead Redemption almost 2 months ago played it for about an hour or 2 and it's been sitting on my shelf ever since. I picked up LA Noire with infamous 2, because of the buy 1 get 1 half off deal at best buy. Shortly after starting it I found it boring and went back to infamous 2 for awhile even though I had just rushed through infamous 1 and had 100% infamous 2. Are there any similar developers that have high esteemed games that you just can't get into for some reason? I'm going to give those games another chance eventually, but right now there are just other games that I enjoy much more and can't be bothered.

I have been playing a lot of portal 2 and can't help wishing I had a portal gun in real life. Then I thought it would be interesting to hear what other cool applications people would come up with if they had a real portal gun. I think that I would use it to go to the bathroom from bed and to get beer from a kegerator. What about you guys?

I have a smartphone, kindle, and a netbook. While the ipad looks tempting it doesn't seem to do anything I can't do with a device I already own. With a netbook you have a real keyboard and no need for a screen protector because of it's clamshell design. On top of that you can run any os you want on it. I personally have debian running on it and it runs great. The kindle is a better ereader than an ipad and looks exactly like reading a real book. So what exactly does a tablet do that fills a void in peoples life? I was thinking the only use it would really get for me would be on the toilet or sitting on the coffee table. Neither of which is worth $500.

Most of what I do with my computer is done inside my browser. I have even moved over to google docs because of the convenience of sharing between computers, and not worrying about losing my flash drive (or if I put it in a mac will it work). So besides my browser the only real software I use is gimp and audacity. So does anyone see a point in the future where everyone uses linux because windows is expensive and doesn't do anything they can't do in browser?

Going to Toronto on a trip in May and was thinking it would be nice to have a smartphone to tell me where all the cool stuff was and give me directions. Any reccomendations?

Just curious if anyone thinks it's still worth it? It's super easy but would require me to invest in some kind of lift or pump.

6. Old people with computers. I will show you how to change your ink cartridge once but don't ask me again ffs.
7. People who hold up checkout line because item rang up 50 cents more than advertised
8. People who laugh at their own corny jokes and expect you to laugh along
9. People who tailgate super close when driving. Just super annoying.

That people insist on seeing movies in groups? I mean it's kind of the most antisocial activity a person can do. You sit in complete silence for 2 hours staring at a screen. Sure aftwerward you can go out and discuss the movie, but there is no reason you can't see it at different times and discuss it later. Personally movies are something I do when i'm broke and bored. Ever since amc took over my local theatre it's only $5 to see a movie making it an impulse decision for me to see a movie I have any interest in. So since I live in the subburbs and there is nothing else really to do I just go to soonest movie i'm interested in seeing. So why is it that people insist on making movies a social event? I mean if you want to do something social, go to a bar not a dark room with a screen where they explicitly tell you to shut up before the movie starts.

Say you are eating at a dine in restaurant and your bill was $12. You use your debit card to pay because all you have is a $5 bill on you. You don't want to ask waitress to break the $5 and give you 2 back because you don't want to offend her and you don't want to interrupt the couple at the next table just to make change. What do you do? I had this connundrum today at a middle eastern restaurant. I personally just left the $5 bill on the table. Also what cultures is it rude to leave tips for? I've been trying to explore new restaurants lately and had middle eastern and indian for the first time this week.

Is it a good idea or a bad idea to have 2-3 shots of vodka in a water bottle before giving a speech? I always get real nervous to the point of having trouble keeping my voice from cracking. I'm 23 btw. I have to give a presentation tommorow and I'm nervous as hell

I am bored out of my mind and really don't want to stay home today. Thinking of going to a movie but if i wait until tommorow it will be about $3 cheaper. Can't think of anything else to do. Kind of want to take the train downtown but then again the fair will be much cheaper on weekdays and i'm going down there tuesday anyway. So what do you do? Just drive around aimlessly looking for something to do?

I personally think that if you bought the hardware you should be able to modify the software in any way you see fit ,as long as it doesn't involve stealing games or ruining other peoples experiences. Also, as long as you don't expect the company you bought it from to honor the warranty for the system if you brick the hardware, then it's fine. Personally, I installed 3rd party firmware (rockbox) onto my mp3 player because it gets rid of my biggest complaint with the OF. I don't jailbreak my consoles because I haven't seen anything worth jailbreaking them over yet. Also, online gaming is what i mostly use my consoles for and I don't want to get banned.

Thinking of trading in my psp and getting a move. What do you guys think is it worth it? Probably will end up paying around $30 out of pocket

This is something that I have always wondered about. Turning left on a busy street without a green arrow where you must yield to oncoming traffic is a disaster waiting to happen. This is because A) you don't want to be stuck in the middle of intersection when light turns red but B) You don't want to get ran over by somebody blowing through a yellow light. Another thing is I get worried about getting a ticket for going through a red light. I get worried because of those traffic cameras. Not sure if those are only on right turns or not but I still get paranoid about this. So a person turning left has 2 options A) make a turn quickly when light turns yellow hoping nobody blows light or B) waiting to make sure oncoming traffic is stopping risking getting caught in middle of intersection. Neither of these choices are great choices in my opinion. So why is it that there is a much simpler solution and yet nobody implements it? Why not just put a green arrow for all left turns? I...

wtf is up with day one patches? i wait all day to come home and play killzone 3 and the first thing i get when starting game is a patch? this is unacceptable. make your game work from the get go

Trying to lose some weight but I like having a good craft beer pretty much every night. I might go back to 1 every other night but I really don't want to cut it out completely. Heck I just bottled 48 bottles of homebrew. Is it really that bad to drink a beer on a diet? I cut out soda and candy and pretty much any other empty calories.

Well I went to the Chicago autoshow today and before I did I was waiting outside a concert hall for about an hour waiting for them to open up so I could pick up tickets for a future comedy event. I was reading a book on my kindle and wanted to look up a phone number for somewhere else to see if they had something in stock so I didn't go out of my way for nothing. There was a subway and I figured they might have wifi so I scanned for wifi networks on my kindle and found 1 unsecured just called "linksys" . I connected to it found the phone number and checked my email. Anyone else ever borrow wifi? I feel kind of bad but if if there are 17 other networks around and 16 are password protected I can only assume A) you either don't know how to secure network or B) you want people to connect to it. and if A is the case you probably would never be able to tell if someone was using it anyway

What is up with people celebrating stupid holidays like Valentines day? I mean come on if you really are in love marry the bitch and if you've already married her then you've already proven you love her. You know it would be a real surprise if you gave her flowers in January. Be different guys don't celebrate dumb holidays. If everybody does it on the same day it's no longer special.
