NHL12 is here!
So, now that NHL is here, the best sports game of all-time will be with us for another year...well until 13 comes out, and that means we should start a CAG league (I will be looking to fill some spots with other people as well, maybe some friends etc, and even your friends too!) So I don't have specifics yet, but to try and garner interest, I figured you guys should put your PSN tag and team you would like to be down here, we can go from there. The league name will be: PantySoup I can PM you the password after we figure out if the league will be pretty full. I am hoping for a large amount of members. I am going for 3 games vs each user, with 5 games in a play-off series. I will start this off PSN Tag: J_bu7ler-- Team: Toronto |

Selling my stuff...oh how it saddens me.

So I am reverting to selling allllll my stuff minus a few games, like some wii 1st party my sis wants me to keep, SSFIV AE (cuz I've always wanted to be good at fighters), SOCOM 4, Oblivion, MGS4, FO(s), GT5 (because its Gran Turismo and maybe one day I'll grind it out) and Bayonetta (never really played, but I guess having an action game in the mix is necessary). I am also selling my DSLR camera, and soon to put up my huge blu ray collection online.
Do you guys think 1,400 is a good amount for the items? Well the item sold, and its a sad day for my collection. I feel like I got a decent amount, but not looking at all the items, it is sad to see them go. Oh games that put me in debt that I never got to play...thanks CAG for busting wallets and building unplayable backlogs, and helping us have a damn time doing so. I'm hoping to build up the 5,000 I need to pay my debt off (well, minus the 140,000 I owe in school loans), so than... |

Which anime series should I get from gamestop
By au7oma7ic 01-19-2010 01:03 AM

|
First off, I traded some games, ended up with 60 store credit. Got afro blu ray, and gungrave, everything else was sold out at my local gamestop (besides some stuff that looked uninteresting). I called and made a complaint about something (long story), and than I got a 20 dollar coupon for the online store. Also, somehow I have 20 bucks on my edge, which was depleted, and I am 100% positive. And than on a gift cert from the game trades I have 40 bucks.
I am looking at the online store, and these anime series aren't really deals, but since I have free money I will buy some. How would you guys rank the following titles, 1 2 3 4? Samurai 7 Basilisk Last Exile Shigurui Death Frenzy Thanks for the help (these are DVD versions by the way) |

Super quick modern warfare 2 evaluation

So, as the title suggests, this is going to be a super fast evaluation/forum hoping for some discussion.
I notice tons of hate (and well warranted) towards the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. I grew up on CounterStrike, the game is flat out awesome. Skill, strategy, communication, etc, its all required, and in essence, none of that is necessary to be successful in MW2. Yes, teamwork will help, but you can still fend for yourself with out it. There is a lot wrong with MW2 such as... The lag on shots is horrible. I hate moving behind a wall and having the bullets curve towards my doomed in-game avatar, just like Wanted. I hate how akimbo 1887s can kill you at long range (at least I think thats what its called). I hate how 'easy' the game is. etc.etc.etc. However, I can't stop coming back to it. The game has somehow kept my attention for almost 3 days of online playtime. ... |

Seven Samurai and genre theory |
|
I am always reading CAG blogs, and there is some great stuff. I have tried a few times to create my own, and failed miserably every time, nothing unique. Shipwreck makes great game reviews...can't do that. Shimrra (and others) provide us with laughs, I'm not to funny from the keyboard. We have been chronicled to Dv8mad's life, mine is not that interesting.
When pulling my all-nighter, I decided I will try to make blogs on a more theoretic, analytic, and thought provoking approach to games and movies, something different that has been done before. Now, movies are easier than games, and this first volume has to do with a movie. Hopefully, if this continues, I can do something with a game next week. And, I am sure some of your are thinking, "This is CheapAssGamer, nothing about movies in the title," but, we all love movies here to don't we. So here I sit, 7:45 am, on one snowy ass day in New... |

CAGers and audiophiles I seek assistance...

So my sound setup for gaming is pretty weak. I use my tiny ol' speakers from my tiny ol' TV.
I am looking to get some "surround sound" headphones from amazon.com to utilize this 50% off and don't know what to get. Everyone raves about the TurtleBeach X4s but I would rather not get those because I would be using the headset for both my PS3 and 360. The X4s dont support mic chat (as far as I know) for the PS3. So what are some other good headsets to get? Keep in mind that I do not PC game anymore, so I would be looking for headphones that enbable voicechat for the 360 and PS3 together. Is it possible to use the mic for ps3 on the X4's? How are these...TRITTON AXPRO, and also the Logitech G35. Is the G35 compatible with game systems as well, for both voice and audio? Also, I am looking for something with great sound quality so I could watch movies etc.... thanks guys. |

You're my boy blue - BlazBlue 1st impression / mini review |
|
So, first off, welcome to my second blog!
I recently hopped on the fighting game genre bandwagon; minus the Super Smash Bros series, whom many do not consider a "real" fighting game. For years I have been attempting to break myself into fighting games, I just never brought myself to it, and none of my friends play video games...with the exception of the NHL series. Earlier this year I picked up a HRAP3 fightstick, along with the CE edition of Street Fighter 4. I even bought the strategy guide. I was sure Street Fighter IV would welcome me into fighting games. ------ It did. ------------------ But only for a little while. I was confined to the tight quarters of my bed room up at school, and eventually it became a hassle to pull out, and put away, my stick (which is usually not a problem). So, off my stick went, back into a box. A dry box. A dark box. ... |

Transformers- How it really did fall
By au7oma7ic 06-24-2009 04:02 AM

So first off, this is my first blog entry. I don't really know the typical procedure, however, I will keep it short, and I will keep it condensed (hopefully).
Tonight I made it out to my local theatre to go and watch Transformers - Revenge of the Fallen (for the high, and now normal, 10+ dollar admission ticket). I was a big time Transformers fan when I was a kid, and loved the first movie. Who doesn't love the Transformers? Honestly. Needless to say I was stoked to see Michael Bay's sequel. I went in anxious and giddy, I left pissed and upset. The first hour and 45 minutes (MOST of) viewed like a worse version of National Treasure 2; but with annoying characters, and an attempt at way too much humor. What worked in the first movie was how Bay sprinkled on the humor. Revenge of the Fallen is like that verizon commercial in the Ice Cream Store: the guy trounces his ice cream in sprinkles (simile used to keep this rant scholarly).... |
