Paranoid Android

I love chiptunes as much as any person on this site, but this set of works takes the cake. A musician by the name of Quinton Sung recreate two of Radiohead's signature albums, Kid A and OK Computer, in the 8-bit music format. I think he did a great job on both albums, but I found OK Computer to be more entertaining. His use of classic Nintendo sound effects to replace certain instruments is inspired.

Top THAT, Bieber.

Cool site: How games saved my life

By The Great BM 09-14-2011 03:49 PM
I recently read about this blog on Ars Technica and thought I should share it with the CAG community. Created by Ashly Burch of Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin', the site posts personal stories submitted by fans about how games had a positive effect on their lives. It's much nicer than the circle jerk of haterade video games usually receive in the media.

Movies and US States

I thought this was an interesting map. It shows all 50 states and what is the quintessential movie for each of them. Unfortunately, my current home, DC, isn't represented, but I was certainly amused by the selection for my home state, Florida. I also think Cheapy will be pleased with the selection for Michigan.

Thy Quest for Housing...

By The Great BM 08-06-2010 01:45 PM
I'm posting this for:

1) Anyone looking for housing in Washington, DC
2) Everyone else's amusement.

This is probably the greatest non-NSFW Craigslist ad I have ever seen.

Update: In case the ad gets taken down, you can read it here as well.

Geeksoap

I know that the concept of a nerd that showers can by oxymoronic, but I stumbled upon this site and thought it was worth mentioning: GEEKSOAP.

A brilliant young soapmaker by the name of Lesley Karpiuk created a variety of soaps that go beyond the seashells, tuna, or whatever other crap you'd find in your grandmother's powder room. Lesley was gracious enough to turn the stuff we like into stuff we can wash our asses with. I went ahead and posted the SNES cartridge, which is one of six cartridge models offered by the site. GEEKSOAP's collection extends beyond the gaming world, with items from such beloved franchises as TMNT, Doctor Who, and my personal damn favorite...
