1500 Days in a Row Playing At Least One Video Game

By The Mana Knight 08-12-2008 05:58 PM
Another busy day today where I went off to Indianapolis, IN to visit my sister and other stuff, so I tried to think about something to blog about today. I decided I should maybe blog about something I told a few people about which some might believe. I actually played a video for 1500 or more days straight. That doesn't mean I played a game for every single hour of the day.

Well, it started out with me getting into gaming more than ever my Junior year in high school (especially around early 2001). I started playing my Sega Dreamcast everyday since I really loved it (I was also getting a bunch of games and wanted to play them). I was playing a game for at least one hour a day, and sometimes I'd play games for as long as 6 hours a day. When I went on a trip to Los Angeles, CA, I brought my Dreamcast with me on the airplane and played it in the hotel room. As the Dremcast faded, I started playing more PS1 again and Xbox (sometimes I'd play PS2). When my Xbox broke in...

CAG PSN Gaming Group Story (on PS3) and Its Highlights

By The Mana Knight 08-05-2008 04:21 PM
Since most of the blogs are kind of depressing, I tried to think of something more positive to talk about, and I’ll admit it wasn’t easy. I’m going to discuss CAG PSN Gaming got started and how it has gone. Those who may visit the PS3 forum regularly should know what I’m talking about. Btw, I’ll discuss CAG Wii online gaming in another entry.

Before I regularly posted at CAG, I wasn’t really into online gaming. I came across annoying people online during random games and didn’t have many friends to play with. I decided to put together online games at a forum I use to post it to avoid weird people (like for Calling All Cars, Bomberman Live, etc.), but no one showed up (at the most, one would show up). I was getting aggravated because I spent all that time putting something together and felt like my time was wasted.

I started posting at CAG more. One of my friends at CAG, daroga, told me that with Bomberman Live for an example, there were no problems...

What Has Happened to My Love for JRPGs?

By The Mana Knight 08-02-2008 04:02 PM
Many people at CAG and various internet forums have associated me with JRPGs for a long time. I was always a big defender of the genre and one who bought many JRPGs. I probably used more JRPG character sig/avatars than most all CAG members. JRPGs have been my favorite game genre for a while, but I’m noticing my motivation to play them slipping. I’ll explain throughout the blog entry how I got into them, my high points, and my low points.

Back when I was in 3rd or 4th grade, can’t remember exactly, two of my best friends bought/rented FFIV (FFII on SNES). I mostly watched them play, but I eventually played it myself. I enjoyed it, but didn’t really beat it. A few years later, I borrowed it and finished. I really enjoyed it and got me into thinking about RPGs. I played Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, etc. and loved them all. I started buying/renting RPGs on PS1 in 1997 like Beyond the Beyond, Vandal Hearts, and Suikoden. I enjoyed them, but RPGs...

PlayStation.com Can Now Link PSN-ID's

Thanks to RelentlessRolento for posting the news at CAG (it's been all over the net right now). To be honest, this is one of the last things I expected to hear this morning.

Anyway, so I check the official PlayStation.com site and link my PSN-ID successfully, but it never showed up. It kept saying still updating, or even disappeared. Btw, it was interesting to see it say on my profile, Gamer Advisory Panel member since 2003 and PlayStation Underground member since 1996, so I've pretty much been close to PlayStation for over 12 years. I found out that because I'm a PlayStation Gamer Advisory Panel member, that's what was causing all the problems. I had to sign out of the site, then sign back on through the forums. Once I did, I had no issues (just don't sign in through the G.A.P. if you are a member).

I finally got my PSN-ID to display, which is:

Mana Knight <3 SingStar

By The Mana Knight 07-02-2008 07:18 PM

Before reading my lengthy post, if you just want to see videos of me singing to various songs, skip down to the bottom of the blog. If you are also interested in what I wrote, feel free to read it.

I heard about SingStar in Europe many times. Due to being a fan of music games and wanting more Karaoke games, I really wanted it, but it never came stateside. At E3 2006, I was extremely excited to see SCEA make an announcement about one coming to PLAYSTATION 3, and it would be coming stateside for sure. I saw SingStar Rocks came to PlayStation 2 in late 2006, but I decided to pass since I rather just play SingStar on PLAYSTATION 3. SingStar Pop came around, and I became quite tempted to get it due to having a very appealing song selection, but I passed up. I was interested in SingStar 80’s, REALLY wanted SingStar 90’s, but I was still going to hold off. The main reason was I wanted SingStar in HD (not up-scaled), and I wanted a ton of downloadable songs (so I can choose...
