I never tried coffee before
By The Mana Knight 05-15-2010 04:05 PM
Yeah, that's true, and probably some people can't believe it. Some may wonder what got me to discuss that topic out of no where, it's actually came up during a recent AIM conversation with a friend.
As a kid, I just looked at coffee as being a drink for adults, so I didn't care to try it. Plus, only my Dad drank coffee in the family (my Mom didn't since she can't drink caffeine), so its not like I smelled coffee all that much. I remember hearing it could stunt your growth and other things, so I just never bothered to drink it. Some might wonder what I drank for breakfast instead. For many years, I would just drink Pepsi for breakfast. It gave me tons of energy (or well, make me hyper) and didn't feel the need to drink any coffee. However, within the past year, I actually stopped drinking Pepsi for breakfast because it was one of the reasons I had bad feelings in my stomach each morning. Instead, I've been drinking water. Since I'm always tired in... |

Should I get a pet?
By The Mana Knight 05-11-2010 05:20 PM
I know it has been a while since I last blogged. I just haven't had much I wanted to share with people (some things I'd love to share, it's best I don't).
Regardless, one of my co-workers told me two or so months ago that he just thought of something I needed........a pet (mostly a cat). He felt a pet would be perfect for me since I'm alone all the time (I live alone) and felt it would do wonders for me (helped him out a lot, since he has two cats). I'll admit that I really love pets. I had a family dog for over 15 years when I lived with my parents, but them he eventually died. I loved my dog so much, we were so close (I named him, and he use to follow me around and do exactly what I do). I also had a family cat while living with my parents (still living now, but starting to get pretty old). While I do slightly prefer dogs, I do still love cats too. While being unemployed, my cat use to follow me a lot and would want to lay on top of me while I tried to play a game... |

I did something new today.......went mountain biking (the experience) |
Well, many who know me in real life and online, say I need to do at least one new thing each week. I normally just go to work, cook, clean, do laundry, play games, watch anime, etc. every single week rarely doing something new. Co-workers have been trying to get me to go mountain biking with them for the longest time, but I finally decided to go today. The one I went with knows exactly who he is (sometimes he replies to my blog). Too bad I don't have any pictures of my experience since I left my cell phone in my vehicle.
The mountain biking trail wasn't too far from me, but never drove by it before. To be honest, it was nothing I was expecting. All I saw was a dirt road, going into woods. I mostly thought the trail would be nice and smooth, some mud (not much, since I hate getting dirty with a passion), and the occasional steep hill. I was so wrong because there were rocks every where, the ride was very bumpy where I almost fell off my bike multiple times, almost... |

TMK's April 2010 Pick-ups (<3 Wii) & Impressions/Games Finished
By The Mana Knight 04-28-2010 09:20 PM
This will definitely be one of my smaller pick-up blogs, since there honestly wasn't all that many new games I wanted in April. Had some unfortunate things happen such as my 360 dying, which I blogged about. I also got a lot of trade-in credit from GameStop, over $250, and still have just less than half of it remaining. I finally beat FFXIII, along with Dante's Inferno and Heavy Rain (although I think I finished Heavy Rain in April).
So this is what I got in April...(quality of pics may be iffy since I used a new program due to getting rid of my old desktop). I only bought two anime collections cheap, Fate/Stay Night and Kurau Phantom Memory. They are two animes I partially watched, but wanted to watch them completely. I have yet opened them because I'm finishing up all the last anime I got, but I'll most likely get into them in May. Really excited... |

Got my replacement Xbox 360 on Wednesday.....now gone
By The Mana Knight 04-25-2010 02:01 PM
Two weeks ago I made a blog about my Xbox 360 giving me a red ring of death. I later wrote a blog about talking my way into a free repair/replacement. I ended up sending my 360 away on 4/12/2010 at my local Staples UPS shipping outlet. The 360 arrived on TX on Thursday evening, then got an email from MS on Sat. it was received. A replacement console was shipped to me on 4/19/2010, and I ended up receiving it on Wednesday. I decided to go straight home after work in order to be there when UPS delivers my 360.
When I opened the 360, it still had no HDMI (not surprising) and the DVD drive was different (compared to my last 360). It ended up working (no RRoD) tried out some games and they didn't seem as loud as my last 360, but still loud. I also received a free month of XBL Gold which is good. The 360 did look a more worn/used looking compared to my last replacement which looked almost new when I got it. Due to my previous 360 being out of warranty, I was only given... |

Applied for a new credit card........got denied. :( |
Well, some may remember how I started a blog once about lacking credit history (that was almost two years ago, but things changed since then) and another one asking about which type of credit card to maybe get. Around two weeks ago, I decided to apply for a credit card. I honestly figured I wouldn't have much problems because I have a well paying job, already had some credit history thrown on due to sharing a card with a family member, have two good bank accounts (one with checking and savings, another with just savings), zero debt currently, never filed for bankruptcy, and because I'm always on time with every bill of mine.
I decided to try applying for a PlayStation credit card (VISA, by Chase Bank) to see what would happen. There's no denying I'm a huge PlayStation fan (one reason I tried), and I could maybe use a discount on another PS3 slim (if I indeed ditch my 20GB PS3). Well, I ended up getting a letter in the mail yesterday saying I was denied. The reason... |

Hershey Park Pictures, Xbox 360 Status, Biking, and other stuff
By The Mana Knight 04-19-2010 04:53 PM
First off, I wanted to apologize for everyone who isn't added as one of my friends on CAG, because the Hershey Park pictures were not displaying. At first I thought someone just had computer issues, but after viewing my blog not logged in, I saw they weren't showing. Therefore, I updated my settings to fix it. Pictures should now display for everyone:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?b=14014 I blogged about my Xbox 360 getting a red ring of death recently. Well, I ended up getting lucky and got a free repair after talking to MS nicely. I sent my console off last Monday and it was received Thursday evening. On Saturday my status was updated online saying my Xbox 360 console was received and is in process of being repaired. I'm really curious how much longer it will take, but I'm constantly looking. I posted in my March pick-ups blog about getting a bike. Around two weeks ago, I finally went riding with co-workers. Currently the area... |

My Hershey Park Experience (Lots of Pictures) |
In case many of you didn't know already, I absolutely love going to theme parks. One of my goals is to ride just about every roller coaster out there. I also love theme parks due to arcade games, sometimes the food, and all the events that happen. Normally I don't bring a camera at theme parks, but this time I decided to show I could finally post pictures of my experience (I didn't bring a camera to King's Dominion last year, and didn't bring one to Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Mid America, Six Flags Great America, etc.).
Hershey Park was a park I've been wanting to go to for many years, but never did because it was too far out of my way. Due to living much closer to the park and getting an awesome deal on tickets, I just had to go (I just went recently). I ended up driving to Hershey, PA, not really knowing where I was going but made it there all right. Here are a bunch of pictures of the park and stuff. I'll later explain my feelings about each roller coaster... |

Amazon $10-$20 Video Game Credits make me buy more than I should
By The Mana Knight 04-13-2010 04:59 PM
Seriously, the credit you can get when preordering (or sometimes purchasing) video games on Amazon has me purchasing way more games than I should. It's why I love the deal and hate the deal.
Towards the end of last year, no game I ordered initially had any sort of credit with it. Due to co-worker and some friends convincing me to buy Modern Warfare 2 on PS3, I went ahead and preordered. The main reason I ordered was because I'd get a $20 off credit to use. I later used the credit to get L4D2 for less (a friend got me to get L4D2). What also made me want L4D2 was its $10 coupon, which I used for a Dual Shock 3 red while on sale (so I spent around $30 on a DS3). Due to wanting to play my 360 friends on MW2, I bought the 360 version getting $20 in credit (I was really suppose to get $10, oh well) and a 12 month XBL card cheaper. My savings on MW2 ended up getting me Assassin's Creed II for $20 (on sale for $40). After enjoying getting all the discounts,... |

Update on my Xbox 360 situation (called MS) and my week |
Many of you probably remembered how I blogged on Friday about my Xbox 360 console breaking and being out of warranty. I decided to try to do a repair request online to see if I could get a free repair. It's strange because it said my standard warranty ends in early March 2008. My red ring of death warranty was 3 years total, compared to the normal 1 year warranty (keep in mind my 360 was last replaced in Dec. 2006). After I did the repair request, it said I had to pay $99.99 to fix my 360. If I wanted to dispute my repair, I had to call 1-800-4MyXbox. I decided I would call them when I have a bad day (when I have a bad day, I get really angry screaming at everyone).
I wanted to trade my Xbox 360 to GameStop, but found out in the CAG thread they aren't taking RRoD console. I was getting worried I'd never get rid of my 360, so I figured I might just let someone have it and pay shipping (I didn't want a non-working console sitting around). I almost considered doing... |

Ah crap, it happened to me again.....
By The Mana Knight 04-09-2010 08:57 PM
Well, I decided to turn on my 360 for the first time in a while around 30 minutes ago. Due to a few JRPGs being bought on PS3, along with Heavy Rain and stuff, it got the majority of my play time. I was going to download a few new demos I haven't checked out and put some time into games I haven't played for a while. Also expected my play and charge kit to take a while to charge up. However, I was greeted to this as I turned my 360 on:
That's right, I got a Red Ring of Death. It's not my first one either, since the last one I got was back in late November 2006. While this may seem like #2 for me, the friend I got my Xbox 360 from (who didn't play it much and is extremely neat/careful with stuff like me) had one replaced. Bad news is my warranty may be over, since the date on my 360 says April 1st 2006, and the last time I got a replacement... |

Had to get new car tires :( Also debating whether to get a newer car
By The Mana Knight 04-02-2010 09:33 PM
Well, lately there has been a lot of car stuff on my mind. I rarely discuss about cars around CAG, but its definitely something I think about a lot. I DO have to drive back and forth to work almost everyday, and I'm constantly driving out to malls, grocery stores, etc.
First off, due to my Dad coming into town for a few days, we went to Sam's Club to have my tires checked on. He was the one who got tires from Sam's long ago for my vehicle (before I started driving it). Since they came from Sam's, tire rotations and so on were free there. I don't have a Sam's card (only Costco and BJ's until yesterday), so I had him go with me there to have my tires checked out. Come to find out, I heard the news that my tires were bad and I had to get new tires. You better bet that I'm really ing pissed I had to get new tires, after all the money I spent the last week (getting bar stools for my kitchen at IKEA, along with a new bike). The tires costs me freaking $300 for all... |

The worst April Fools joke to happen to me (Getting scammed)
By The Mana Knight 04-01-2010 06:29 PM
Two years ago (back in early 2008), I got into heavily trading games on CAG. I initially only traded with more CAG, but most games I initially kept. However, due to running into financial problems with my last year of college and struggling to find a job, I had to sell/trade a lot of video games. Most people I dealt with on CAG and other sites were wonderful, but one person just had to ruin trading online for me. A bunch of other CAGs were affected by this.
Due to being new to trading/selling on CAG, I had to send first. I had no issues because I'm a pretty trusting person and believed everyone would pay me or send their share. I got a bunch of PMs when making my massive list, but one I got was a little shady. One person didn't have much feedback (barely higher than mine) and badly insisted I send first. My main issue is he refused to do PayPal and kept on insisting doing cash (or some money order from Canada). I just felt the situation wasn't safe, so I held off.... |

March 2010 Pick-ups (Lots of JRPGs and other stuff) & Game Impressions
By The Mana Knight 03-29-2010 07:19 PM
All right, finally I'll make my monthly pick-up blog post. I considering posting this just after FFXIII came out, but I decided to wait. Due to March being an awesome gaming month, along with me picking up another gaming platform, I ended up buying many new things. I also took advantage of the GameStop trade-in deal, where I got 50% + 10% extra trading in 3 PS3 games.
Shockingly I'm starting with a bike picture. I didn't bring my old bike with me when I moved, but since I'm big into biking and wanted to do some mountain biking with co-workers, I went ahead and bought a new bike. I got it from a bike store my cousin works at, who I haven't seen in over 12 years. It has adjustable shocks. Yup, I ended up buying a black DSi w/ giftcards I had at Toy's R Us. After making my blog post asking if I should go DSi or DS Lite, by the responses I got and my feelings, I felt a DSi was the right choice for me. DSi XL was... |

Finally finished Heavy Rain.....very freaky and interesting |
I know, its rare I post a blog entry specific to just one video game. I don't expect most people to even read this blog unlike the majority of my blogs. There will be lots of spoiler tags, so if you haven't beat the game yet (and plan to), then definitely don't read them because some are really big.
![]() I understand Heavy Rain is not a game everyone is going to like, but it ended up being one of the most unique experiences in a video game I've played in the last 10 years. While I knew about the game for a while, I originally had very little interest in it (never really played Indigo Prophecy outside the demo). I didn't start to gain any interest until near release, where I went ahead and used my $10 credit from Dante's Inferno to purchase it. I played the game for just over an hour a few days after I got it, but it was shelved so I could try to finish Star Ocean: TLH International before FFXIII... |

I'm constantly in fear |
All right, I decided to completely admit a problem I tend to be avoid discussing or try to change the subject on often. It's going to be near impossible for me to explain everything since there's so much, but I'll at least give everyone an idea what I'm talking about. Basically, I live every single day of my life in fear. Some fears may be normal, while some fears are quite stupid. To let everyone know, I do not take any form of medication. Fears are what prevent me from getting anything done.
My biggest fear in life is rejection. I feel the need to be quiet because I fear rejection. I tend to not ask a girl out because my mind tends to think I'll get rejected, so I end up not asking a girl out. I rarely ever call friends because I fear rejection for them or that I'm calling them at a bad time. I next NEVER ask anyone to do anything with me, since I fear things won't work out. I have been blown off a bunch of times in my life, like when friends say they'll do something... |

So I talked to a girl today......
By The Mana Knight 03-20-2010 03:37 PM
Some of you all might remember (if I posted it on a blog of mine) how I checked out at Food Lion one day, and this girl said she liked my wallet (my Sora wallet). I was a bit surprised and said thanks, but nothing else. I rarely go to that Food Lion location. I went there a few other times and saw her, but the lines were crazy long so I either left the store or got in the quickest line. My co-workers were thinking that the girl might like me and she may know what's on my wallet. I started to feel bad that I didn't talk to her much the last time. I wanted to go back to that Food Lion when not really busy to maybe talk to her again, but wanted to find another way she'd maybe talk to me again (so I can talk to her). My co-workers said I should wear a Kingdom Hearts T-Shirt of mine and see what she says. I also wondered if I should wear my glasses (I rather not wear them and the first time I met her, I didn't have them at the time), but they said I better because they are me (I also...

Ever think of school/work stuff outside of school/work too much?
By The Mana Knight 03-19-2010 03:11 PM

The title of my blog may seem confusing, so I'll try to explain it better in my first paragraph. Despite the awesome weather outside, I'm inside writing a blog.
When I get off of work, despite all the many things I do such as play video games, do laundry, cook dinner, etc., I can't help but worry everyday about mistakes I made at work, worry about what others would say, worry about the work I'll be doing, and so on while doing other activities. Many times I've moved slowly on getting stuff done because I can't stop thinking about work related stuff all the time. It's not like I take home any work from... |

Went to Dave & Buster's CAG/Goozex meet-up & what I've been up to
By The Mana Knight 03-13-2010 07:54 PM
Honestly, I don't expect this blog I post to be very popular, mostly because it lacks any sort of direction and I'll mostly explain why for the lack of blogs lately. This could be a short blog, or long blog, depending upon what I end up with after I run out of stuff to type.
The top news I wanted to discuss is that I got back from Dave & Busters around 30 minutes ago. There was another CAG/Goozex/etc. meet-up there, but this time at another location (where I've never been to that area before). Despite all the traffic jams, heavy rain (not the game, lol), and missing my turn to D&B, I made it there an hour after it started. As I walked in from the parking lot, I saw GenDV138 right in front of me. I was shocked he knew it was me before I said really anything, although I did have a gaming shirt and PlayStation hat on. So I got in, sat at a large table with CAGs/Goozex members. Many at CAG may know I RARELY eat out at restaurants and rarely eat around other people... |

Amazon Free Super Saver Shipping Going Downhill?
By The Mana Knight 03-04-2010 05:10 PM
This is a very different blog topic by me, but since I order a lot of stuff from Amazon, I just had to discuss this topic. Years ago, I rarely used Amazon because prices weren't that much cheaper normally and the cost of shipping crushed me (everything was standard shipping if I remember correctly). Ever since I could use Free Super Saver Shipping on Amazon, I started using Amazon more. Previously it was great and all, but started to go downhill.
When I started using free super saver shipping over a year ago (like when I bought Time Crisis 4 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl cheap), it didn't take all that long to receive my packages. I was living in Indiana at the time and packages normally came from Louisville, KY (or near there). When I started ordering on Amazon again in early October, my free super saving shipping stuff would arrive in 3-4 days after I ordered. Sometimes it would be as quick as two days. Some told me I should try Amazon Prime if I ordered a lot from... |
