Christmas Comes a Little Early

I recently decided to pull the trigger on a new television, replacing my 42" LCD Toshiba. While there was nothing wrong with it, I decided that the prices had finally dropped on the LED sets to a level that I was comfortable with. I spent a little over a month reviewing sets and reading reviews from multiple sources. No matter what I ended up choosing, there was always going to be some naysayer cautioning me to stay away from model 'X' and buy model 'Y' instead. After awhile, if you read enough of the reviews and comments from owners, you're tempted to not buy anything...
I finally settled on a display from Samsung, the UN46C7000 46" LED 3D HDTV. It met all of the criteria I had set for myself and the price was right as well. I had actually come to the decision to make the purchase when I realized that Samsung is currently offering a free Blu-Ray player and 3D Starter Kit with the purchase of select 3D sets, and I was very happy to find that this... |

Sometimes It Pays To Be Nice... |
![]() I had a pretty nice exchange with a customer of mine today and thought I'd share... Today at work (I am a manager at a office supply retailer) I had a customer and his girlfriend come into the store. The guy was having a pretty bad day. It was one of those days where if it could go wrong, it did. Surprisingly he wasn't taking it out on me or the staff, as seems to be the case more often than not when people have had a bad day. He and his girlfriend were going to a summer concert and the venue is located about a 1/4 mile from my store. On the way to the show his truck - purchased new and less then one week old - broke down, so they had decided to walk to the show. He had apparently printed his tickets from the Ticketmaster website and had them in his pocket. Well as luck would have it, they fell out of his pocket and the wind caught them, blowing them right into a gutter! Since my store... |

Probably late to this, but it's new to me: PayPal Plug-in

I finally decided to take the time and learn more about the PayPal plug-in that I've seen ads for on various sites (including PayPal, obviously). After learning how it works, I really think that I'll enjoy using it.
The only real drawback that I really think PayPal has (apart from the fees, of course) was the fact that I had to wait up to four days to get any money transferred to my banking account. Since I only sell on eBay occasionally, I don't think that the PayPal credit card would really be a viable option. For those readers that may not know about the PayPal plug-in, I'll explain. The plug-in installs a PayPal logo in your web browser. When you want to use it on a website, like Amazon, it will generate a one-time use debit MasterCard number to use on the site. You can also generate a multiple-use card for sites that shop on often. It takes about 5 minutes to set up the plug-in tool and you're able to use in without navigating away from... |

A Real-Life First Person Shooter a.k.a. Paintball

![]() Random picture I Googled, the markers are the same model that I used though Yesterday I had an opportunity to play paintball for the first time. What a blast! The event was part of a surprise birthday party for a friend of mine. The group consisted of a bunch of my friends who I used to work with and regularly play games on Xbox Live with. There were seven players including myself and we played at an indoor facility that had two fields available. After the requisite safety instructions and do's and don'ts were explained, we were free to shoot as much paint as we could in two hours. The staff where we played was really nice and made sure that we had a good time. I can't remember how many times I took a paintball to the face, but that first time get hit - what a rush! My first round I got tagged without even firing a shot, but after that I realized that since I've got a ton... |

Finally finished Call of Duty: World at War

I just got the last two achievements that needed to finish up CoD: World at War and get the full 1000/1000. While I realize that in the grand scheme of things it means absolutely nothing, but I still get a nice little rush when I complete a game. Even better, I beat my friend to the 1000 who had the game for about two weeks before I picked it up.
Now that's it done, I can finally move on to either Tom Clancy's Endwar and start earning some achievements in that game, or finish up Bully. Decisions, decisions... |
