Ever get eye-strain from the computer screen? Try f.lux!

By Yamato 07-14-2012 03:13 AM
I happened to stumble upon this neat little program called f.lux.

I can't deny that I'm on my laptop more than I should be, especially at night. Whether its browsing CAG, messing with Steam, or catching up on some current events, my eyes no doubt get strained from the screen brightness. My first action is to turn the brightness down, but eventually I need to turn it back up, and then back down again even later. It is a "vicious and hurtful" cycle, as the late namispep would say.

I found this program that doesn't quite change the brightness, but the temperature of your screen as night begins to fall. It is a very subtle and light program, and I can't recommend it enough. At first, it made my screen go from the harsh, cold blue light to more of a sunset tone. It was a little weird, but I kept it.

Now every now and then I'll disable it just to...

How People Ran Off With Over $1.2 Million Worth of Free Microsoft Points

By Yamato 03-07-2011 12:38 PM

Some CAGs may have noticed that, over the last week, a handful of people have been coming out of the woodwork offering discounted Microsoft Points. More specifically, codes for 160 MS Points. When paying 50% off retail price for a handful of pictures of codes, instead of codes themselves, its hard to not notice.

I, for one, definitely noticed. I figured that Microsoft had a promotion going on, and people were taking advantage of it to make a quick buck. Disappointed that I missed out on these great half-price MS points, I thought I'd do a little digging to find out what was going on.

Turns out, there was a promotion going on. Visit a site, get a free code for 160 MSP, and be on your way. That wasn't enough for some people, though. With a few changes to the URL, a user could refresh the site to no end and be awarded with a new code each time....

Missing Rockband 1 DLC?

By Yamato 04-06-2010 04:01 PM
Hey CAG's,

I've recently run into a problem. I bought a bunch of DLC from the Rockband store (this is on my Xbox 360 by the way). Saved them to my HDD, had no problems playing them for the longest time.

Was over at a friend's house, and recovered my gamertag to his console to play some MW2. Deleted my GT before I left, went home, recovered my GT, and downloaded the new 360 update for USB storage (which is pretty nice).

Tried to play some DLC, but only 2 or 3 out of 20ish songs show up in my list no matter what I do or how many band members are playing. Checked my HDD, and they are still there. Re-downloaded them anyway, still didn't help.

I've also tried googling a solution and someone recommended deleting a "Rockband Download Data" file, which appeared to work for some people..but not me.

Anyone else ever run into this problem and have a solution? If not, who would I contact to get this sorted out?...
